Sober Living Homes in Florida

Sober living homes in Florida offer shared, alcohol- and drug-free housing for people who want a stable place to live during recovery. A sober home is not a treatment program, and many residents go to outpatient care, work or school while they live there. Florida runs a voluntary certification system for recovery residences, and that system limits where licensed treatment providers can send their patients.

Listings on RehabSeekers.com come from government treatment registers, state licensing records, accreditor listings and details the providers supply themselves. Most listed Florida homes cluster along the southeast coast and reach West Palm Beach, Lake Worth and Palm Beach Gardens.

Common questions about Sober Living

Answered from what is listed here.

Which Florida cities have sober living homes?

Look first at Mangonia Park, North Palm Beach, Jacksonville, Brandon and East Lake-Orient Park, where sober living listings in Florida cluster, in that order. Anyone based near West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale or Hialeah may find these within reach. Asking each house about rules, fees and length of stay makes comparison easier.

Rehab Centers in North Palm Beachhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/florida/north-palm-beach/
Can I use Florida Medicaid for sober living?

Some of the sober living homes in Florida record accepting Florida Medicaid. Where it applies, coverage runs through the member's enrolled plan, such as Sunshine Health, Molina Healthcare or Simply Healthcare. Asking both the house and the plan which services or fees are covered is a sensible first call.

Rehab Centers in Florida That Accept Florida Medicaidhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/florida/florida-medicaid/
Which sober living homes in Florida are close to a beach?

Most of the sober living homes in Florida are within 25 miles of a beach, at a median of about 5.1 miles from the nearest one. The most-named beaches are Fort Lauderdale Beach, Juno Beach and South Palm Beach.

Distances are measured from each listed home. Residents usually still travel to work, outpatient sessions and meetings, so asking about daily travel times matters as much as how close the sand is.

Rehab Centers Near Beacheshttps://rehabseekers.com/attractions/beaches/

What is a sober living home and how is it different from rehab?

A sober living home, also called a recovery residence, is shared housing where residents agree to stay alcohol- and drug-free, and unlike rehab it does not provide clinical treatment. Residential rehab in Florida is a licensed treatment program with clinical staff, assessments and a care plan.

Under Chapter 397 of the Florida Statutes, the Department of Children and Families licenses providers of substance use disorder services, while recovery residences are certified on a voluntary basis. Certification still matters, because licensed treatment providers may refer patients only to homes that hold a certificate of compliance and have a certified administrator.

Florida residents often pair a sober home with outpatient care, such as an intensive outpatient program. A correctional halfway house is a separate thing. Placement there comes through a corrections or court decision, while moving into a sober home is a housing choice the resident makes.
