The provision listed at Lakeview Health Systems LLC – Jacksonville is detox, residential treatment and intensive outpatient. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.

My family’s experience with Lakeview Health in Jacksonville was extremely disappointing. From our experience, the environment felt hostile, unwelcoming, and poorly managed. The nurses and some of the staff we… encountered were unkind, disrespectful, and lacked the compassion and patience I would expect from people working in a rehabilitation facility. My family member also experienced a situation where they were almost attacked while at the facility, which was extremely concerning and frightening for our family. Instead of feeling like our family member was in a safe and supportive environment where they could focus on recovery, we felt uncomfortable and concerned about their well-being. Communication and the overall handling of situations left a lot to be desired. I would not recommend Lakeview Health to my family or anyone I care about based on our experience. Families trust rehabilitation facilities with their loved ones during vulnerable moments, and they deserve to feel that their loved ones are being treated with dignity, respect, compassion, and safety.
I’ll give it three stars cause you have your good days and then you have your bad days but your recovery is what you make of it. You gotta keep a positive attitude to have a good time.
Use to be a great treatment center. Was bought up by Bradford and turned it into a horrible place that only cares about insurance and not treating the person.
The cna’s act like nurses , the nurses act like drs and the dr is a lazy old guy named dan ! i stayed 4 days wanted to leave was told to go to my room i woke up to firemen n ems ! they brought me to jacksonville… memorial where they said i had a stroke at the treatment facility! my wife was up there in 5 mins n took me to baptist health! they told me id receive a refund three months and waiting! that place is a i detoxed at home with no issue ! im sick of facilities like this taking advantage of addicts! oh yeah leave your meds at home cause they will try n say they threw them out! my wife mentioned jso and the automatically found my kolonopin! pos
Food is good. Staff great. That's not why I come to treatment. A lot of fluff groups. Art or reading from a paper. Good luck with seeing a therapist. No snacks out' allowed 2 per lunch or dinner..lol. There are so so… many better treatment centers. I was there a year ago..so maybe it's changed.
I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the treatment I received at Lakeview. I am giving this facility a two-star rating based on my recent experience. While the administration appears intelligent, I… found the corporate culture to be deeply problematic. It is my observation that the leadership operates as "company people" whose primary allegiance is to the organization rather than to those they are meant to serve. Most distressingly, I was given the run-around and lied to regarding my personal belongings. I was forced to involve the police just to have my items returned to me. Furthermore, I felt there was an attempt to AMA block me until law enforcement became involved. In my opinion, the lack of transparency and integrity I experienced was unacceptable, and I believe individuals are treated with more honesty and respect in a homeless shelter environment. I hope this feedback is taken seriously to prevent other individuals from having a similar experience.
The facility was generally clean but consistently ran out of food and rarely provided fresh fruit as advertised. There were several extremely good therapists but they admitted whoever could pay without vetting anyone.… They tell patients lies about not getting their personal belongings when they want to leave early but this myth was proved wrong by a simple call to JSO. What I was being told would take 72 hours, miraculously changed to 1 hour after JSO stoped by. They try to fall back on the fact that a contract was signed but in their infinite wisdom, failed to realize those contract were signed when people were under the influence, which made them null and void . In addition to this, the CEO feels he is above the law by not registering his vehicle in 30 days per Florida Statute.
Really poor communication. Therapist and medical doctor were good at communicating but nursing team was extremely poor. Last day was a total disaster in terms of extremely poor communication.
I was just bragging about Lakeview and pointing a friend in this direction, and i was shocked to see even one negative review. Lakeview was amazing, it saved my life. It felt like a vacation, Its practically a health… resort. It was so peaceful and serene. I felt I was cared about when cared for, I felt like they were actually invested in my recovery rather than feeling like a number. From the nurses to the blue-shirts, the therapists, the kitchen staff... everyone was so nice and supportive. The food was amazing, honestly. The pool was nice, gym was immaculate. Yoga instructors were awesome. We went for surfing lessons, went out to a horse farm to pet and feed some little horses. You have a massage therapist come in, and someone to come in for haircuts. Theres even a little zen meditation room. The lake on the men's side is full of life, little ducks and geese, big bass and turtles you can feed - although I don't think you're supposed to, anyways. The facility is nice, its got a real pretty view, good food, great staff. I cant imagine how they could go wrong. If I had to complain, the apartments, the PHP after the inpatient - the last period before you graduate... the apartments kind of sucked, but the comradery, the fellowship there.. it was a great place to transition back into the real world. And the girl at the window that took the cigarette and vape orders seemed like she was always having a bad day... but still. This place is amazing. I love Lakeview. I brag about my experience there. I highly recommend it.
Look elsewhere to care for your loved ones. This WAS a great treatment center under Lakeview Holdings (my first experience). I stayed for nearly 90 days. Then Bradford Health took over (my second experience,… regrettably). Bradford slashed the budget and the facility became overcrowded, chaotic, and dangerous overnight. The great staff all left for better centers and many others were summarily let go. I left after the minimum 30 days. It was really disheartening because Lakeview used to be special. I've been sober for more than a year now but my gratitude is for Tide's Edge Recovery Center in Ponte Vedra and the Jacksonville/Saint Augustine's amazing recovery community. But, I just wouldn't let someone I love go to any Bradford-related facility if they needed help after seeing what happened here. :(
Saved my life. If you have insurance please go!! I am a father to a sweet boy due to my sobriety. Please go. God bless you.
The lack of communication, deceit and double talk cost me an 8 hour drive, a lot of headaches and no help at all.
Let me preface by saying this system is owned by Bradford Health, the HCA of treatment centers. I’ve experienced both. Horrible and driven by the almighty dollar, not patient care. I spent 11 days here. The first few… days were ok. They put me in a wheelchair because I have MS. I have a walker and not yet confined to one. The nurses are so short staffed that they kept me in the wheelchair. Having MS, constant physical therapy is important, which was never offered to me. I normally walk with a rollator. I was very cordial and polite, particularly being on detox meds. I’ve been on Benzodiazepines for 11 years and their aggressive detox to nothing in 7 days is criminal. Lo and behold my last day of detox meds try hey ran out of my meds that I brought in. They told me that they had ordered them from their pharmacy vendor. Not three days before but never ordered then. I’m talking important meds. MS drugs , Diabetes, statins, specialized antidepressants. (Yes, have a few health problems) They ran out of OTCs meds, four days in a row Benadryl, Imodium etc. the food gave me such GI issues I had to take Imodium every night. I fell twice. One in the shower and once in a common area. The first one was in the shower,I managed to pick myself up and told the nurses. They couldn’t care less. They called my dad, which I was on a conference call by an alleged “therapist “ we talked about. Once I criticized them, that was it and she shut off the call. I AMAed and my dad picked me out of that cesspit.
I was a patient at Lakeview from October 20, 2002, to November 19, 2002. I was there during Lakeview's infancy, when there was only one building, a couple of picnic tables, a basketball hoop and a beat up volleyball… net. I can tell you, with great conviction, their program works. Lakeview gave me the tools I needed to learn how to live a sober life. I still use those tools today, and I have been sober for just over 23 years now. I wish I could come down there and speak to the people currently residing there and tell them it's possible to turn theirs lives around. I am living proof of that, Thank you, Lakeview.
Just a PSA to the people who are thinking about committing to Lakeview Rehab Rehabilitation Center, Jacksonville, FL if you are a professional of any kind be worn that they will report you to the licensing agency for… what you hold your license no matter what this is brought to my attention 10 days into my treatment when I was told that if I do not self report that they will report for me now how I see it that is a violation of HIPAA. No one should ever know anything about my health information unless I give them proper consent. The way they get around this is that they wait until your second or third day until you’re in detox and they have you sign a bunch of digital signatures to healthcare documents that they don’t tell you what is in the documents and you’re going through detox so you’re not reading the fine prints and you basically sign everything away to them. In my opinion this is Second rate and shady patient care. I’m thoroughly thoroughly disgusted about this and so should anybody who has to deal with this going into the program if what you just said is not a problem for you then go right ahead and go to this place But if you’re thinking about an amenity what you should and anyone going into Rehab should do not go here run as fast as you can from this place thank you and have a good day
I was forced to go to Lakeview but I'm happy that I did. I finally admitted that I was an addict and I needed help and I need to change my life. At first I did not want to participate or talk with anyone but after a… couple days of hearing other people's stories I realize where I was at in my life and where I was going to end up if I continue. During my stay here I follow their program schedule and start going to the group therapy. For some you may think it's dumb, useless, waste of time but if you really just be more open-minded and use what they teach you it will make a big difference in your life. A big plus for me while I was here was the pool and the gym, never really use the pool but it is a very nice pool with a nice view of the pond I'm back to the gym the gym have everything that you need and yes they do have real trainers. You only get access to the pool and gym if you're in the store, php, and IOP if you're in stepping stone you're out of luck. Yes you can bring your car and leave it park at the Star Wednesday and Saturday are outings AA meeting Monday, Wednesday and Friday NA meeting Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday Walmart runs and etc
I had the pleasure of touring last week; what an awesome experience. Thank you, Isabella and Natalia, for taking the time to tour me and discuss the program. Peace and Purpose Asheville are always looking to forge… relationships with treatment centers and Lakeview's clinical staff are second to none, in my experience. They also have an awesome integration program which involves client exposure to the outside, where they go shopping and are involved with a lot of off-campus activities. No hesitation recommending it as a great program for family and loved ones. Keep up the good work Lakeview! Ronan O’Loughlin Peace and Purpose
I would never recommend this place to my biggest enemy. A waste of time sitting around doing nothing. DO NOT GO HERE!
Im using a different name for privacy purposes. This rehab was so transformative that I felt it was important to share. When I first arrived, I was scared, broken, and unsure if recovery was even possible for me. From… day one, the staff treated me with genuine kindness, respect, and compassion. They didn’t judge me for my past — instead, they focused on helping me build a healthier future.
This place is a genuine life saver. The staff is incredible, food is amazing, and I made friends that will always be there.
I went in voluntarily and I had never taken a couple of meds they gave me. 4 days in I developed severe hives, itching, well it was a severe allergic reaction to what none of the nurses or “providers” could figure out… that it was their main detox drug phenobarbital. Which I had to go to urgent care to figure out shortly after being kicked out on the street at 5am because I couldn’t wait on my ride?! Be careful….they won’t let you leave either. It’s all very very sus. I’m still in pain itching as I write this review. I truly wish it had gone differently, medical staff should take allergic reactions seriously and know the medication they’re giving outs side effects. This is serious.. go elsewhere for your recovery.
Was there 6 years ago I'm proud to say: I live a Wonderful, Clean and Sober Life. Thanks 🙏
Totally incompetent. This rehab is run as a cold prison with zero care to patients. I had multiple items stolen from my sock drawer while I was at Lakeview. I spent 2 days without food, water, or medication bc I got so… sick I couldn’t leave my room…they never even checked my vitals for over 10 days. Abhorrent conditions. Mold in many bathrooms. Don’t expect to leave the building for your entire “stay”. No wonder their Director of Opps “resigned”.
I loved the experience there, the nurses and therapist were great. It seemed like it was a bother for certain staff. Getting medicine we were supposed to have has been the biggest problem I've encountered. Hopefully that… will be fixed soon, otherwise I'd recommend it to anyone who needs help.
Do not come here. Ludicrously understaffed, criminally mismanaged, the employees are a joke. There is no plan of action or "rehabbing" here. At best they treat people like unpleasant inconveniences (Keon, Julian), some… of them show up to work altered (Shannon), and more than a few are just nasty, unhappy people working in the wrong field (Brenda) with no skill set and the patience of a teething toddler. God help you if you're are disabled. I went 13 days without epilepsy medicine and had 5 seizures on day 9, having to go to the hospital. Then waited days more. None of my meds are controlled substances or susceptible to abuse. No post-care given. Trey and Savannah, case managers, are wonderful and deserve better. Juan, counselor, is... weird. Like, clinically weird. Memory issues, contradictory messages from session to session, seems obsessed with power, weakness, and being watched. Peculiar themes to say the least. The penal system would be more receptive to his message than the public, the outside world seems too complex for him to grapple with and he won't engage with anything requiring strategy or coping. Many of the residents remark that he talks to hear himself speak. I'd be interested in learning what the recidivism rate for former Lakeview clients is versus those of other facilities/programs. Definitely would be statistically relevant -- and not in Lakeview's favor. Place is a vehicle to siphon money from a poorly served demographic, plain and simple.
Mike with lakeview health admisssion, was extremly helpful and emphatic. I believe he needs a promotion. I am ready to go to this facility after having great service.
The dishonesty from the sales/admission team that initially occurred when calling around and looking for the right facility to place our loved one in, should have been the first clue. The now lack of communication from… the nursing/professional medical staff, affirms this recovery center is not impressive one bit. All in all- They are understaffed. Amenities that are advertised are not open or available to the patients. It’s partial. And there is no accountability provided to the loved ones within the center. (Defeats the whole purpose of rehab) I understand ownership may have shifted. But after doing detailed research, picking this place was absolutely a mistake and only looked good on paper. Our family had high hopes. *Please don’t respond saying to call a number saying you appreciate this post and would like to further assist the issue. That should be done initially and not to appease the review log.
