About Mercy One Genesis – Davenport

Mercy One Genesis operates from 1227 East Rusholme Street in Davenport. The site sits in Scott County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Bettendorf, Eldridge and Panorama Park. Iowa draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.

Hospital inpatient care is delivered here, alongside care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Treatment Services at Mercy One Genesis

Hospital inpatient care runs to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen.

Mercy One Genesis Address, Location and Contact Information

The address is 1227 East Rusholme Street, Davenport, IA 52803, in Scott County. The catchment reaches Bettendorf, Eldridge and Panorama Park. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity.

Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Opening hours shift with staffing, and an evening slot one month may not exist the next. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

This place is SUBPAR. I had a kidney stone and this is the closest ER to my home, MASSIVE MISTAKE. They ran an IV and poked me 4 or 5 times and even left scrape marks on my skin, and when I exclaimed when they finally… put the needle in—there was giggling. They found it FUNNY to be HURTING me. They repeatedly tried to give me medication I have allergies too, I pulled up my list of allergies in MyChart but the nurse refused to look at it saying—I don’t know how that works. It’s a list, you read it. Rude and unprofessional. The ER beds were jail beds. They couldn’t figure out how to turn on the lights in the hospital room they put me in—so this all took place in the dark. They had a big conversation with me about which pain medication would be at the pharmacy, 12 hours later they had the pharmacy tell me they weren’t comfortable prescribing me pain medication. I ended up being admitted to a hospital across town to deal with my actual medical issue the next day because they did nothing but condescend and waste valuable time while I was in pain. They took a photo copy of my insurance card, lost it, and called to request information to bill me for their SUBPAR SERVICES while I’m in another hospital because of their subpar treatment. What a joke! Do not go here, this place is UNSAFE.

Very rude cafeteria staff that made snarky comments and started talking about me the second I stepped out of the room despite the door being wide open as if I couldn't hear.

My room mate may have a detached retina and they said they "cannot legally say" if an eye doctor was on site or on call, when Trinity at least said they didnt. I wouldn't even take my dog here, much less my room mate.

I had my kidney removed today. My night nurse on the surgery unit was Aida. I was very upset because I was in a lot of pain. I wasn't very easy to get along with the night of surgery. But Aida was great. She stayed nice… even though I wasn't being very pleasant. She did everything in her power to address my pain. Thank you Aida for being a great nurse and maintaining a wonderful disposition while dealing with my pain, my high BP, and my overall post op issues. You were a blessing. Im glad you were here. I hope you and your family are happy and safe.

This hospital is NOT up to par. Please only go here if you really need to ER only. This hospital along with other hospitals in iowa received a D in safety surgical errors and other stuff that is si important to a… patient. Iowa ranked 48th while Chicago ranked 17, Genesis healthcare/MercyOne are deadly for your health. They are very incompetent and dangerous. Kim Reynolds knew that Iowa hospitals where failing and what did see do, put a cap in malpractice suits. A demon, a devil is what these people are. Find other providers. If Kim Reynolds want to cap malpractice and she wants to let Dr's refuse patients, it's time patients refuse these bootleg Dr's....IOWA HOSPITALS RANKED 48TH dead last for safety run dont walk

I had my surgery here that went well but the the nursing after was terrible. I was to have assistance walking 4 hours after , 7 hours later after complaining the final came in . I found out the nurse was sitting behind… the desk on her phone. It took 4 hours after asking to get something to drink . Not very happy

NEVER EVER coming back to this hospital. After my husband’s surgery, I was settled in for the night on a recliner in his room, and around 10PM a nurse forced me to leave. It should be a given that spouses can stay… overnight. There was absolutely no reason for me to leave other than that nurse trying to flaunt her authority. The chair was not in the nurses’ way whatsoever, and I could have helped him right away through the night when he needed it, instead of him not getting help till 10-15 minutes after pressing the call button. If he had gotten a blood clot and died, it would have shattered my life and had zero effect on theirs. Utterly cruel and stupid that I had to leave. I spent the worst night of my life alone in a nearby hotel.

Absolutely the worst care for my mom. Dr discharged her and she cannot take care of herself and Genesis was clearly looking to turn a bed with the discharge. You don’t let a 71 year old who has dimentia leave your… facility and forced to leave via the Dr who discharged her because of lazy incompetent staff lack of leadership and overall an institution that is a disservice to our community. I’d love to talk to the ceo but I’m sure they are too busy. Worst health care facility I ever seen matter fact worst health care company I have ever been witness to

My sister recently gave birth in this hospital and it might genuinely be one of the worst experiences I’ve witnessed in terms of a delivery and postpartum experience. Just blatant disregard and at some points felt like… blatant disrespect or lack of care. At every turn she was met with a per our policy or sorry we just can’t help with that or you need to wait till tomorrow for services that come the next day were just met again with well you’ll have to just wait till tomorrow again. For a hospital of this size the fact that they have 1 lactation consultant that is only available at very specific hours is ridiculous. After pleading for hours for help from this person to be met with a darn just get ahold of me tomorrow when I come in and I might be able to help is ridiculous. Overall please just avoid this hospital for Labor and Delivery and save yourself and your little one the stress and disappointment at what should be a very monumental moment in your life

Worst hospital. Leaves patients in hallway even though rooms were empty. Waits 5.5 hours then decides to do a ekg. Nobody can answer questions all are referred to doctor thats never around. No privacy for patients… everyone knows why you are here. Gives pain medicine without finding a cause of pain so patient is in pain once home again. Medic said "you should go to genesis since they have your records" Next time I will refuse this chaotic place.

My experience at this hospital was extremely disappointing and upsetting. My mother was in severe pain, crying out for help, yet we were made to wait over 20 minutes before she received any treatment, such as an IV or… pain management. Even after staff came in to offer her pain medication, it took over 30 minutes for her to actually receive it, prolonging her suffering unnecessarily. During this time, staff continued asking her multiple questions while she was clearly in distress, rather than prioritizing her comfort and urgent medical needs. Some of the questions felt poorly timed and insensitive, and it felt like her pain was not being taken seriously. When I spoke up out of concern for my mother, the doctor called me “disrespectful” and escalated the situation by calling security. I was simply advocating for my mother while she was in extreme pain, and instead of understanding, I was treated like a problem. Several nurses also came across as rude and dismissive, which made an already stressful situation even worse. We expected compassion, urgency, and professionalism—but that was not our experience. Based on how we were treated, it felt like there may have been bias in the way my mother’s pain was handled. I can’t help but feel that race may have played a role—my mother is white, and I am Black—and the level of compassion from the nurses in the emergency department was shockingly low. Their behavior was rude, dismissive, and completely lacking empathy. No patient or family member should have to go through this. I sincerely hope the hospital CEO takes immediate steps to improve how patients in pain are treated and how staff communicate with concerned family members.

MercyOne Genesis has some pretty nasty triage rooms. Been here off and on with my wife due to her pregnancy complications and wow they are below the standard, especially the sheer amount of money people have to pay to… be seen here. Twice have I watched a nurse(two different nurses) blow out a few of my wife's veins before they could get a stick. What kind of temu training they giving nurses these days. We used to have to stick people under night vision in the back of humvees.. What a shame, since this is one of the only places in the QCs to go.

No one likes to go to the ER, but with my spouse, sometimes it's necessary. When we visited several years ago, it took hours but I felt staff were competent and involved. Rooms were bright and clean. Yesterday, things… were not like I remembered. Room was disheveled with unnecessary materials on the limited counter space. No one handed him a call button. Machines beep so loudly that I looked for a volume switch. It's good that I was there to be an advocate and help because staff were not helpful. I am looking for an alternative

When i was in the hospital i was left in pain for 3 or 4 days (not right at all) and when i took my wife penny shady to the ER we sat for hours i do believe your hospital should be able to do much better like reopening… west campus. 😤 1/15/2026 and we go again was just at the hospital on the 13th in the evening and of course they sent her home. They treat her like any other patient when she clearly is not like everyone else and they know it and instead of putting her in the hospital they send her home with antibiotics that don't work. The Department of Justice needs to get in evolved and send someone under cover and see how they really do things. Be a whole lot of people being fired. That's a fact.. I will be raising red flags with them i promise you that !!!! 🤬

I wish I could give zero stars. Took my mother to Genesis East ER after she fell and got a cut on her head. They took us to a room fairly fast. We then sat for about 2 hours before anyone even bothered to check on her.… During triage her BP was fairly high. They never checked her BP again. And we were there for four hours! Meanwhile we had no gauze or anything to hold on her laceration. The room was filthy. There was no biohazard container for bloody materials and the only waste can they had was filled with bloody items and everything else. And it was overflowing on to the floor. It appeared no one had even swept the floor for some time. The doctor finally stuck her head in the door and assured us that someone would be in shortly. Another 30-40 minutes later a girl came in and put some water/soap on a piece of gauze and “cleaned” the wound. After two hours someone came in to register her to be seen. This was the most unorganized ER I have ever seen. All kinds of people walking around or visiting at the desk. But we sat in a room for a total of four hours. When Dr S finally came in to suture the wound she would not even cover it with a bandage. She told us someone would come in to bandage it. However, no one ever came. I stopped a person in the hallway to ask for a bandaid and there were none in the room. He stopped someone else and he retrieved a couple. Having worked in a hospital and a medical office setting I have never seen such an unorganized, unclean, poorly run facility. We will never return to this place again.
