Phoenix House – Ronkonkoma Detox and Rehab Services
Phoenix House – Ronkonkoma appears on the register for residential treatment and sober living. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.
Both conditions are treated in parallel, which is what the research supports. Supported housing is recorded for people continuing treatment after a more intensive stage. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

Phoenix House – Ronkonkoma Address, Location and Contact Information
The site is at 153 Lake Shore Road in Ronkonkoma, New York, 11779. Ronkonkoma sits in Suffolk County. Provision extends to the wider area, so check the journey before you set off. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.

⭐ 1/5 — I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere I came to Phoenix House Ronkonkoma expecting a recovery environment where residents—especially veterans—would be treated with dignity, fairness, and respect. My… experience has been the complete opposite. The veterans house is mixed with many older residents, and the living environment has been extremely unpleasant. In my experience, I have dealt with residents who had significant hygiene problems, strong odors, failed to clean up after themselves, and sometimes left toilets unflushed. I have also seen shared equipment and facilities damaged or misused, leaving everyone else to deal with the consequences. Whatever the reason, residents should not have to live in an environment like this. The cleanliness of the facility has been another major disappointment. There have been situations where I felt the common areas and bathrooms were nowhere near the standard they should be for a residential treatment facility. The social environment can be just as bad. I have personally witnessed gossip, backstabbing, and negative comments about Black residents. As a Black man, that made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. My experience has left me with the strong impression that residents are not always treated equally. I have seen situations where I felt White, Asian, and Hispanic residents received more lenient treatment while Black residents faced harsher consequences for similar situations. I cannot speak for every employee or every resident, but that is genuinely how the environment has felt to me. Then there is the money. The program seems very quick to collect money, but getting residents' personal needs allowance can feel unnecessarily slow and frustrating. When you're already dependent on the program, having to repeatedly wait for money you're supposed to receive adds another layer of stress. What bothers me most is the lack of feeling that you're actually being heard. A treatment program should make people feel like they are working toward a better life, not like they are constantly walking on eggshells and trying to avoid punishment. To any young Black man, veteran, or anyone considering Phoenix House Ronkonkoma: please do your research before coming here. Visit the facility, ask difficult questions, talk to current or former residents, and compare it with other programs. I personally wish I had done more of that before entering. Recovery is too important to settle for an environment where you don't feel respected, comfortable, or fairly treated
This place is horrible. The veterans house in the back known as ETP is full of old bitter men and that's where they house the veterans. I would not recommend going there if you are a young veteran. It sucks. The staff… are racist, whenever there's an issue between a black person and a person of another race, the black person gets punished, hard. The food here is disgusting, and there's goose poop everywhere. The old men do not clean up after themselves, and the counselors barely help you. 2/10, would not recommend.
They'll be as nice as anything if you go there and clean their dirty facilities. The second you're done with your 30 days, have fun getting them on the phone after you leave. They don't wanna help anyone do anything and… they'll be nasty practically anytime you any & every time you contact them.
thank you in advance ;) im debating coming here ... open to feedback.. happy holidays
Nice place to hang out, unless you're going to work on your own recovery, then you have to learn how to do it so you are ready to succeed in your life
Absolutely horrible and I haven't been there yet. I spoke with a psychiatrist about 2 months ago who okayed my meds.... Valium is the one that stops places that mentally ill patients like myself can't get help from but… anyways .. this psychiatrist told me with my psychiatrists letters and to do a 28-day program I would have a bed in the ronkonkoma location. Well that psychiatrist was fired so I did 28 days for nothing because I was turned down. They should be ashamed of themselves!!! Im Mentally ill, take other meds besides the Valium. I've been on them for 19 years. It's just this combination of meds that keep me sane and because of it, I can't get the help I need!

Rss and some counselor's are good, the rest of administration especially the higher ups are horrible only care about the numbers$$$$$$. Facility is in dire need of repair and the house is very dirty. They don't even… show the men's building in the pictures the first house on the right when you first pull in, which is the one in need of repair and major cleaning.
Best program I ever been too the houses are clean the counselors are awesome Vicky ,Linda, Alyssa, mark and so many others are so welcoming in my recovery I want to thank them for getting me back on my feet and ready to… face life again

I am in Phoenix House currently it's a good place to get stability and recover
The worst program in New York
I was there approximately 10 year's ago and when i got there ,I had to get used to being there. But turned out that in a month, I started washing pot's in the kitchen to being the head cook at this facility. My time was… most spent in the women's building where the main kitchen is located. This program is good for those who want it for themselves. The staff and residents loved the way I cooked. About 150 residents.
This place has absolutely no respect for 4 there clientsnad they need counselor s with a background in drugs not someone who is gonna judge...
If there was a 0, I would rate it a 0. I have NEVER been treated so poorly in my life. The nasty woman who screams at everyone when ONE person does something stupid. These people got us up at 2am to scream at us for one… persons issue. The stress level that I experienced day and night in this place, I have never had to deal with in my life. I respected them and their ridiculous rules and finally I had enough and I left Phoenix house on my own will because it was so stressful. I ended up going to LICR which was the complete opposite, they were incredible and amazing in every way. If you’re looking for long term, I would suggest anywhere but Phoenix house. It’s inhumane the way they treat people. I don’t complain or talk negative but to protect someone else from having an experience like I did, I will absolutely leave an honest review! Shame on you for treating addicts like pieces of dirt on the ground. Phoenix house Ronkonkoma, Don’t go!
From using and abusing illicit substances for 15 years, fast forward to today, I am 13 months clean thanks to the staff @ Phoenix House. I am currently in the Hauppauge facility and the programs they offer combined with… groups and seminar have done a world of good for me. It's as intense as you need it to be so if you don't chase your recovery your addictions will catch up with you and there are plenty of trained staff members / counselors ready and willing to work with you.
Great program. They not only help you recover from drug and alcohol addiction they also help you fix your entire life and help you reenter society.
