PLEASE do your due diligence to vet these SPA/SPOA Housing agencies, especially Risewell, before you become a client of or leave a loved one to his or her own defences in the hands of people that you assume are doing… their jobs to provide safe, comfortable, well-maintained and clean housing. I assure you they are not. If you or your loved one are overly trusting, of a "complacent" nature, afraid to, or too mentally unstable to speak up for your needs, they will go ignored. You can expect that the rules and regulations of this particular agency, Risewell, are most definitely not being followed. The unprofessionalism, negligence, ignorance, and laziness of Risewell staff is atrocious. I am a smart, college-educated adult with good values and work ethic but I fell on hard times. I have struggled with chronic depression and unfortunately cannot work for now. There are no other options for me. After complaining up the ladder within Risewell itself, my concerns were dismissed by the staff, including my direct house manager, his superiors, and even the director, who actually provided excuses for his own staff. I've spent countless hours navigating the mental health system and reaching out to advocates and legislators, the OMH, SPA/SPOA itself, and I even filed an official complaint with the Justice Center. Risewell simply denied my allegations and who is really going to believe a "crazy person" anyway? I've come to learn that unfortunately, no one does. I feel as though I'll never be heard. These horrific issues run rampant and despite being reported, still go ignored and unresolved. They are: The issues I speak of consist of but are not limited to the followi illicit drug and alcohol use and abuse; aggressive behavior, threats, violence, and physical and emotional abuse among housemates; hoarding; stealing; breaking and entering; unsafe and dirty living conditions; broken appliances, furniture, and fixtures, or a lack thereof; insect/critter infestations; and pet/animal abuse. I've even witnessed and reported prostitution within my home, by my housemate who had strangers in and out, at all hours, some criminals, drug abusers and domestic violence offenders. Some of whom propositioned or threatened me. All of this was in video I had documented. And after I reported all this, my housemate went on a 7 day Crack-Cocaine bender and was admitted to a 28-day program. But Risewell never believed me that this was going on. And treated me like I enjoyed complaining. Upon pleading with the Suffolk County police numerous times they would not let me press charges for any of it. I trusted Family Service League's "DASH" (emergency services) who also failed to assist with the abuse I received by my housemate of which I was reporting to them weekly for months and of which they wound up using against me upon my disclosure. I was told to document, and I did. Notebooks upon notebooks, police reports, names of individuals who I reported to, dates, times, crimes committed, and the most damaging-my photos and videos. None of which were EVER looked at or acknowledged by ANYBODY. I've tried to transfer agencies but I'm told I'd have to start the application process all over again and from the bottom of the 5-year waiting list. I must also mention the incompetence of the Accounting Department as they continue to get my invoices wrong and ask me for rent that's been paid. Because of the ongoing stress and anxiety I face because I'm so often disbelieved, my mental health symptoms have gotten worse and I have nightmares and PTSD. I cannot focus on putting my life back together. What about those clients who don't, for whatever reason, speak up? I urge you to consider what is really happening behind the scenes.
My home away from?...Home🤔
Risewell states, that they care about families. But in my experience that is far from the truth. They have been barring me from living with my wife of twenty years for the past eight years. I lived with my wife of… twenty years for 7 years under Risewell before my wife and I separated for a year. I always paid the rent on time when I lived there and never caused any trouble. My wife and I have been renunited since 2018. Since that time I have had to live apart from my wife. Because Risewell is refusing to allow us to live together. My wife always pays her rent on time and the two of us have been practically begging Risewell to let me move back in. They have been keeping us apart for 7yrs. When they say that they care about families they're a bunch of liars. I have had to move back in with my parents and my parents are elderly and don't really have alot of room in their house. My father has Alzheimer's and has health care workers coming to their house pretty often. My brother lives with my parents also and my mom would like more space to herself. What's your reason for keeping a happily married couple apart Risewell. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Peter Winston
mental health seems to be a pit in ny you cant get off this team yourself, and i never wanted to be on it or apart of it..
This is for Mystery Girl - hopefully she can read this. You need to file a fraud complaint with both OMH and HUD. Risewell is so full of it by saying it was a Capital One banking error. All of these Supportive Housing… agencies need to be audited, and investigated for fraud.
I have had Risewell as my representative payee for almost two years, and unfortunately it has been a very rocky experience. They are responsible for handling my SSI, and this week they failed to deposit my funds on… time. My SSI was supposed to be deposited on Monday. It is now Thursday, and the money is still not in my account. As a result, I am without basic necessities. I am hungry, and so are my pets. My assigned payee, Romona Burke, suggested switching to paper checks going forward. This immediately raised a red flag for me. I have been receiving deposits electronically this entire time, so there was no clear reason for this change. I am disabled and do not have a car, and cashing checks would be a major inconvenience and barrier. I eventually reached the program supervisor, who acknowledged a Capital One banking error and stated the funds were re-deposited, instructing me to check my Chime account. The call was ended shortly after. The result is that there is still no money in my account. At this point, I am actively trying to identify a higher-level administrator beyond Dina, as I am attempting to file a formal grievance regarding this situation. I have not yet been provided with clear information on who that individual is or how to proceed. I am outraged, and I believe that outrage is justified. This is my money—government benefits I am legally entitled to—and delays like this put people at real risk. I am deeply concerned about how many others may be falling through the cracks and going without food or necessities due to failures like this. Representative payee services exist to protect vulnerable individuals. In this case, that trust was broken.
This place is amazing. The staff is very polite and helpful.
Trying to keep this professional. I reached out to 5 different numbers today. I was able to get one person to answer the phone, who then sent me to the financial department where I left a message. One of the voicemails… I reached had a message they were out of the office 10/2 to 10/6. I called on 12/10. I work for a not for profit so I can sympathize with low pay and hard work, do better with the phone answering please.

It is a great place to work on your mental health all the counselors are great at what they do
They are blessed.
This is a great place for me because I get to meet new people and socialize with them about my own life experiences and Trauma.
Great place
They serve dinner on Wednesday and help out the community
This is a multi service organization that provides many specific types of services for the mental health community from just needing counseling,to psychiatric medication management, but most unique is the service offered… called "care coordinator " which runs the gambit of handling the arduous housing application process on your behalf to applying and securing benefits for clients and acting as a liason between the client and the community. An example would be securing employment with transportation where the clients otherwise would struggle to express normalcy in the face of a stigmatized psychiatric diagnosis and articulate gaps in employment that would be neither positive nor negative upon application review. Those who are clients are allowed to decide what level they feel they function at so the full time five day a week intensive group therapy of 8 groups a day is in general voluntary and beginning and cessation of group days bears no discipline on the client. The goal is to bring the client to independent housing, sobriety, employment that just reaches the max that SS benefits will allow without garnishing the monthly check. Medication stability is a main focus while counseling is a tool that is indefinite but can cease if agreed upon. The Federation of Organizations is located in multiple locations. One of hand is on Granny Road right outside Blue Ridge Estates in Medford. To initiate membership, you must have a program that has recently done a biopsychosocial on you because when calling intake they will ask for that right away. My personal opinion is that if you need psychological care for multiple years, psychiatric Medication that leaves no time for the failures of say many off label anxiety drugs and need to be monitored on a benzodiazepine then these Dr's will take you seriously. Adderall is also an often rxed drug as you will be required to maintain attention with your counselor weekly but the drugs will bring you through your mental crises fast.
Very effective and efficient organization.
I loved my visit.
