Samaritan Behavioral Center – Detroit Address, Location and Contact Information
You will find this provider at 5555 Connor Street, Detroit, Michigan, 48213. The city lies within Wayne County. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.
A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. Remote appointments may be possible where travel is a barrier. Reception hours vary, so a call that goes unanswered once is worth repeating rather than treating as a dead end.

I was at semeritan behavior center and please dont send your loved ones here they make you worse then when you went in I went in a few years ago and was just depressed when I got out I was severely suicidal and ended up… in another hospital because of the mistreatment I received there they are extremely rude and abusive to the patients I have never received so much disrespect and cruelty from anyone or anyplace as I did when I was there
I'm glad the building is still serving the community
My friend was here for care and this place should be shut down immediately they have no care plan at all the place is dirty not very professional and downright rude staff. If you can help it get your loves ones out of… this facility!
I have always respected all Samaritan staff especially the new staff. I must say this Dr . Hall is the best very knowledgeable , intelligent, kind, and honest, caring, understanding and calming. I had to get my top… teeth removed and I was very disappointed, nervous and self conscious but Dr. Hall was there with every step of the way it’s now has been a year and feel great.
The second day being here, I was physically attacked by a nurse because she was talking inappropriately towards me, and I decided to pull out my cellphone and record her. Once she saw that she was being recorded, she… panicked! She immediately pushed away from her desk as she stood up, walked around her table, and once she entered striking range, she attacked... she went right at my phone, attempting to take it from me or break it by knocking it to the floor. I struggled with her as she grew angrier and angrier... she began to squeeze my fingers and tried to pressure me into giving her my phone. She shoved me into the hallway BACKWARD (I was in wheelchair)....I WAS IN FEAR.... After a few minutes of me talking her down, she calmed down and then proceeded to act normal! I was afraid and confused as to what to do... once she calmed down, she seemed like a totally different person... but I had seen the other side of this woman and that mean side could pop out in an instant... Also, 80% of the staff is there only for a paycheck and the least amount of work they can do, they will do... don't come here if you're in need because THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR NEEDS!!! ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE END OF THEIR 12HR WORK SHIFT... Anything between the punching in and punching out is, to them, a distraction to be avoided! CROSS CONTAMINATION: I complained that I withnessed how the nursing staff would regularity exit a patient's room marked "contaminated, enter wearing safety equipment only"----- and enter my room (across the hallway) to dispose of the contaminated safty gear in the trash can located in the bathroom located in my room [NO BIO HAZARD CONTAINER---JUST A REGULAR OPEN TRASH BUCKET], so I was moved... 1 week later I was informed I had COVID--although I was extremely weak and could barely walk, and against their doctor's advice, I packed up my belongings and left by cab... I was under a "bed rest" order and the staff begged not to leave because I was too weak, too sick, but it didn't matter. I felt that the nursing staff had infected me with COVID, whether on purpose or by negligence (I couldn't prove it). I left immediately and went to a real hospital where I was admitted immediately for weeks. (addem: the few staff members who are actually there to help and assist, DO INDEED TAKE THEIR JOBS SERIOUSLY, but they too will admit that they are outnumbered by the incompetent staff members)!!!
I wish I can leave negative stars. The staff is unprofessional rude dismissive uptight because you're calling in to check on your loved one. They don't want to do their job nasty when they answer the phone just rude.… That's why I took my time out to contact patient relations to report the staff. If it do something I would appreciate it. If not it doesn't matter. I still want to shed light on their unprofessionalism. If you don't like your job then why are you working there for a paycheck that don't cut it? Do something that you want to do so you can have a smile on your face. How can you be rude to some people you never met or never saw. And this is your job just disrespectful. I can't stand not a staff member in there. They're all lazy and don't want to do their job and once again they are very unprofessional, very unprofessional very much. I wish I can give 10 negative Stars
Great experience did not wait a long time staff was friendly
My brother is in this place and EVERYONE IS RUDE from the Social Worker on down. I called 70 times and left 10 voice-mail to tell them the name of the medication my brother was allergic too. It was to late they were… giving it to him anyway because he didn't tell them. Today is April 22, 2026 and I still can't get thru to his Social Worker this place needs to be reported. I was on the phone with him and he was attacked by staff they aren't there to help people in need they are abusing people instead.
My 94 year old Dad was taken to this horrendous place -his call bell went unanswered by night staff, and that he waited approximately six hours for a bedpan!!!! We encountered conditions that were both shocking and… unacceptable. The odor from my Dad!s room was noticeable from the hallway. We found him lying in a bed that was not fully operational, with fecal matter on the sheets and dried urine on the floor conditions consistent with prolonged neglect. We are profoundly concerned for ALL residents within the facility. This is already an incredibly difficult time for our family, and we should not have to question whether he is receiving safe, dignified, and consistent care. NOT RECOMMENDED unless you are helicopter relative and have the copious amount of time to monitor the staff.
Last I checked a patient has the right to appoint an advocate. This facility seems to be the opposite. "10-14 day minimum" and refusing a patients rights? Telling a patient " they refuse to talk with advocate" This… place should be shut down. Along with the majority of these places. There are way too many horror stories, traumatic experiences and abuses that go on unchecked. While forcing a stay for insurance purposes. That is not their role and extremely dangerous. Do not send your loved ones here for treatment. A PHP or IOP is a much safer, less traumatic option.
Very nice and clean always polite and respectful.
The mental health area is the worst in the state. It is cold only give out one very thin blanket and hardly ant food. Don't go there. The doctor doesn't want to listen to patients.
I wish I could leave no stars… -1000 stars, it’s an absolute horrendous place for anyone to be at I would never send my pet goldfish there for any level of care. It actually needs to be shut down for whatever reason… it’s still open unfortunately That whole facility being open is a danger to anybody in the city or anybody who needs actual care that’s just my two cents. It’s filthy it’s uncouth it’s unprofessional. It’s just disgusting all around. The staff are not professional whatsoever. I was only greeted by two people that were decent human beings everyone else absolutely not. The phones do not work whatsoever so if you have someone that you love in that facility, you will not be able to reach them. Just a heads up, they don’t feed their patients adequately. They don’t provide any level of care other than just barely keeping a patient alive and in reading the other comments, I can see they don’t do that very well either. I am not usually somebody who writes reviews at all, but I had to let anybody know who is dealing with this facility. State needs to be called. They need to be shut down. Point blank.
I was treated at Samaritan center for my mental health back in May this year, the staff was great and nice.
I had a WIC appointment there and the lady who helped me is very very sweet
Staff was friendly , took excellent care . Very helpful and service at a decent rate of speed. Thorough and full disclosure. First time , I have ever had oral surgery without ANY pain. There is usually minimal or it… returns after the service but not one day of pain once they fixed the most pressing issues. Had three teeth removed in one visit. I would definitely recommend and return.
I’m the residential DJ, and I have to say the staff at Samaritan are incredible! The nurses and CNAs treat everyone with dignity and respect, and the facility stays clean and well-kept.
Love it here
Th this place most definitely needs to be reported they are very unprofessional they're abusive they lie they fight the clients intimidate the clients hurt people the doctors make it where you have to be injected before… a discharge they are messy and this place need to be shut down and investigated because this is no place for people to be it's bad enough people are going through crisis and the last thing you need is to be abused and a mental facility
Clean facilities, well lit parking lot, gated community.
