I agree we need more mental health facilities, but this hospital is an embarrassment to the state of Mississippi. I had a horrific 7 day stay here. The first thing was them refusing to give me water, lithium makes you… extremely thirsty and just for asking for it during the night, 3 big males and a nurse held me down and sedated me. The next night when I asked for water same thing happened. Third night I asked again because I could hardly swallow…This time they took me to a room with a mattress on the floor. After the 3 shots the nurse left but the 3 big men stayed. The next morning I woke up and my vagina was sore and bleeding. I haven’t had a period in 18yrs. After that I didn’t ask for water but, they would come and sedate everyone at 9pm anyway. It didn’t matter if you were politely minding your own business or not. Come to find out, my lithium was extremely toxic and that’s why I was so thirsty. I ended up with acute kidney damage and had to be treated at a separate medical hospital. They didn’t even tell me it was toxic, although they checked it. I’m glad this place shut down, it was a nightmare. Also the nurses screamed at patients constantly. Trust me I’ve been talking to a lawyer. If this was done to me, I’m sure there were others. Please speak up if this happened to you, also.

Terrible nursing staff and communication as a whole. A family member was transferred to this facility after being “diagnosed” with conversion disorder. The family member was unable to speak, move, walk, etc. The staff… left patient in wheel chair for the entire night with out checking - in knowing that the patient was in paralytic state. In addition when spouse of patient asked for details on treatment and medication (after Having the authority of admitting patient) staff stated that a power of attorney was necessary to receive any details about the patient he admitted....the same patient that cannot speak or move at this time. We will be filing a formal complaint.
