Surfpoint Recovery LLC – Brooklyn Detox and Rehab Services

The register shows Surfpoint Recovery LLC – Brooklyn providing residential treatment. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.

Combined treatment is not recorded, which is worth checking before committing. Approved medication is paired with counseling and regular review. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

This place is horrific. Only good thing is the food is OK and there’s TVs in the bathrooms in your room. Other than that this place is terrible. I’m in the process of filing a civil suit on this place soon as I went in… there for detox there was a staff member named Rob that took two hours to get Food for the intake and when I was sitting with the nurse the head nurse at intake and I was eating a cockroach landed on my hand and I showed it to her. She told me to show the intake staff and when I showed it He told me don’t worry about it then I’m used to eating bugs. Also not all staff, but staff in this facility are very disrespectful towards the clients They treat their clients inhumanely. There’s a lot of prejudice people there favoritism and racism. And the lunchroom is being ran by people who show favoritism to people of color, but when it comes to Latinos and white, they always short us on food they shake the spoon. I’ve been to other detoxes in my life. And I’ve never seen a detox, deprive people who are coming in from the streets that are malnourished and underweight Food, I came in at 137 pounds and when I try to ask for ensures, they told me that they don’t provide ensures and that my family would have to pay for it and send them in even though I have New York City Medicaid that covers it, especially if I’m malnourished this place honestly makes you never want to use again which is a good thing maybe that’s the Whole concept, but there’s no reason why me as a client somebody’s trying to get help should feel disrespected. I don’t recommend this to anybody who’s sincere about getting help. And like I said, I will be Placing a civil suit on this establishment.

My little brother stayed here for 28 days. His counselor was amazing Mr Hurley. The medical people were great, BUT when he arrived and was checked in through intake department he had a bag of clothes and his hygiene bag… with clippers and a brand new pillow for his stay. When he was discharged NONE of these items made it out with him. Not his pillow, not his hair clippers or his clothing. He literally went to the long term rehab with the clothes on his back. And what makes it so much worse is that the director Eric who promised to look in to the missing items has promised twice to call me right back and nothing… crickets! They don’t care about a “homeless” persons belongings. After all, who can they complain to? My husband and I live in Florida, my husband on disability we have very limited income but we gathered some of my husbands clothes and were able to purchase clippers and hygiene products for my brother and shipped them to him. This is incomprehensible to me that an organization that is supposed to help people… steals from them.

Just for today group Facilitator (Paul) he runs a really good group and I get a lot of good information out of that group. Michael Fox is an out standing counselor, he wasn’t my counselor but he met with me a few times… to listen to what I was going through and gave me some great feedback. My counselor was Kevin He he’s a good counselor and he got me into the program. I’m going to now. I knew where I wanted to go before I came to surf point all he had to do was send them some info some more information that they inquired.
