Syracuse VA – Watertown Detox and Rehab Services
Syracuse VA – Watertown carries a listing for intensive outpatient and outpatient care. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. Which of these is appropriate depends on an assessment, not on what sounds manageable at the time.
Co-occurring mental health conditions are addressed alongside substance use, which is the approach the evidence supports. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

Syracuse VA – Watertown Address, Location and Contact Information
1222 Arsenal Street, Watertown, New York, 13601 is the address held. This address falls in Jefferson County. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. Journey time and parking are not trivial details when treatment runs several times a week over months.
A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. Remote appointments may be possible where travel is a barrier. Reception hours vary, so a call that goes unanswered once is worth repeating rather than treating as a dead end.

Syracuse VA – Watertown Reviews and Ratings
The reviews section for Syracuse VA brings together accounts from around the web and reviews written on RehabSeekers by patients, loved ones and healthcare workers. Read them, or add one if you have been treated here.
They will never answer the phone. Ever. Always transferred to vet health connect or whatever. If they say they will leave a note for the nurse or provider, thats code to get you off the phone and never call back. Their… therapists switch every 2 weeks. Their providers switch every 48 hours. Wait times for anything is 6+ months.
1st time going to the clinic. My clinic was in Rome but just moved to Watertown. I heard terrible reviews from other veterans. However, today that took me in as a walk in I definitely waited a bit but the NP Sarah… listened to all my concerns did not rush me out and ordered meds I was comfortable with allowing me to making informed decisions. I may switch up here for my primary care. It was a good experience with her she is new.
Good people work here.
Very nice and efficient staff. Short wait to be seen.
Fantastic
The staff at the desk is great. Caregivers just think they can do what they want and then lie to your face even after reading their notes of what they did had enough of this place already going to get a outside doctor
I gave 3 stars because all of the people, minus one NP have been really awesome and nice to work with. The issue is answering the phones! At this point, I honestly don’t know why they have phones. Every time I call this… office I have to call for days on end before somebody eventually answers. And I noticed my last couple appointments. I watched the phone ring and they don’t have the ringtones on! They keep telling us that there’s phone issues.
I usually don't leave derogatory reviews but this one really got under my skin. To me veterans deserve better than this. I called for two straight days to get an appointment for prescriptional glasses. Phone rang off… the wall. I said something to one operator she got snotty with me and said I can't control whether they pick up the phone or not. So at the end of the second day after at least 20 phone calls I asked for the manager. What I got was a recording that said this is the advocacy and leave a message. I left a message all right. I had called for two straight days and no one would pick up the phone. So I get a phone call from a lady out of the Syracuse center and she tells me that if they're busy they don't pick up the phone! I said in this day and age there's no voicemail or no kind of messaging system? She said no. To me she made me feel like they were fine with it and we were not getting the service we deserve as veterans! This needs to be fixed because this is an absolute travesty. Who would think something like this is even possible in this day and age. These people deserve less than a zero for whoever okayed this practice!
Reception just assumed I had pink eye I went in with red swollen eyes cause of a eczema flare up but Reception wrote down pink eye. When I went back there tbe nurse was telling me how I had to stop touch it and how my… husband cant share a bed cause it was contagious I said eczema is not contagious she said oh Reception wrote down pink eye so that was a issue also went in to do a breast exam the dr didnt do it because she assumed I didnt want one cause I kept my shirt on. Like ma'am I could have liked my shirt up I even confirmed my intake in the room for it with the nurse. Alot of assuming with out a d clarification or actually looking at the patient its ridiculous
Garbage won’t be going back I’d rather suffer front desk is RUDE and the doctors could care less
Every person here is so kind. I'm always greeted with a smile and kind words. Yes, they're busy and have a million things going on always, but they never make someone feel like they're concerns are not important or not… taken seriously.
Just had a visit today! They did an amazing job! They do have a lot of veterans and we're a smaller town so they do the best they can but overall I think they do a good job!
Use to be one of the best VA clinics to go to, but between never being able to get ahold of anyone there, to my Dr. being canned for literally doing his job I’m really starting to loose faith in this facility.
Good luck getting in touch with someone. They usually say that they'll have someone contact you if they answer the at all, and you never hear back. I had an appointment for labs, sat there for 45 minutes watching the… nurses joking around and finally left. They didnt have any patients in the room either. Never was notified that my doctor quit because she was being threatened by a patient. I called several months later and they said they dont know who my doctor is now. This place needs to go through a serious revamp.
Great service.
Delivered a DoorDash order to an employee here (Chasity M) and was disappointed to receive no tip, especially considering the time, gas, and effort it takes to complete these deliveries. I expected better appreciation… from staff at a healthcare facility. Just a heads-up to other delivery drivers.
Firm believer of believe folks the first time. Clinic is trash. Pcm is trash. Lab is trash. Scared to even trust the specialty care. Don't think I'll be returning.
This is the worst VA clinic in the world. I had an appointment with my primary care provider in July 2024 and flew to Wateor it. On the day of the appointment, they called me in the morning to cancel because the… provider was unavailable. I rescheduled and asked them to providwith a date when I was available, as I needed to return. They respoby with either not having anything available or suggesting a phone appointment. I insisted that I needed to be seen in person for my annual appointment. After that, I received no further communication from them. Finally, on November 26 2024, they called to schedule my apointment, four months later. I told them I would not be coming back to this clinic. This clinic is truly the worst.is Tley really don't care about veterans.
This place is the exact reason why veterans kill themselves. It's nothing but run around run around run around until they call you (IF they do) and tell you that your referral was denied. Oh but don't forget to go… online and look at your results yourself because they will diagnose you with something that requires monitoring and daily medication BUT NOT CALL AND TELL YOU ABOUT IT OR PRESCRIBE THE MEDICATION. This place is a joke. Dont waste your time.
Dr. Marshall is the only positive. When he leaves this place will have zero positive attributes
I only have one complaint about this place. The wait times on the phone are horrible. I was waiting for 20:57 and I called right after they opened. This isn't the 1st time I've had this issue. The doctors and nurses are… pretty good, though.
My husband was having problems with his blood pressure and heart rate, Dr Marshall was great and his nurse Nichole was Very helpful and extremely caring in helping get it under control. They put my mind at ease that he… would be ok.
First time to a VA clinic and though I have heard some horror stories about them, I went in with high hopes. Those hopes were quickly shut down! Went in and there's no clear signs as to what to do when you first walk… in. All you see is a glass wall and seats in front of it. After waiting for about 15 mins, I decided to talk to one of the workers who was behind a window. The dude looked annoyed and gave off a bad vibe. Next, one of the providers there came out to talk to me only to pawn me off with some ther VA in Syracuse. This place is of little to NO use! I can't even imagine the rest of these places.
Helping me with paper work, for my Dad who is a Vet. Fantastic staff!!! Thank-You..
Honestly I am blown away with the care I've received from this facility. When I heard of the VA in the past, it seem strictly in a negative connotation. That it not what I've received from this facility. On my first… visit was with Bee was nothing but kind and helpful. Dr.Marshall is by far the most professional, knowledgeable, and caring doctor I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Finally the reason that reminded me to write this review was that I had Covid these last couple of days and lost track of which day it was, so unfortunately I missed my appointment today. I was frantic until I spoke with Briam. He was professional and kind while rescheduling my appointment for a much earlier time than anticipated. Thank you Watertown VA!
Oct 10 2023. Called all day every 30 min nobody answered. Rings and goes dead. Or rings and someone in Syracuse picks up. And then transfers me to Watertown. The operator picks up but got some reason can not connect the… call to anyone.
Every appointment ends up getting canceled typically the day off and even canceled again after rescheduling. Also, nearly impossible to get a hold of.
Absolutely the worst clinic I have experienced. There is no communication whatsoever between the outpatient clinic and the closest main hospital. If you can get someone to answer the phone after three days of trying to… call you’re lucky.. all the doctor wants to do is talk. No listening involved. Even the pharmacists and techs in Syracuse at the VA pharmacy claim that when trying to contact the doctors at Watertown outpatient cling that they rarely get a call back after calling and calling and putting in note after note. If you want to be ignored and treated like a door mat and left to fend for yourself then this is the place! The people who approve and deny filling prescriptions at the Syracuse VA Pharmacy due to interactions, even say that too many veterans from that go to Watertown outpatient clinic are being let down on a daily basis and it’s extremely disappointing. When your doctor can’t even answer a phone to talk to a pharmacist to straighten out your medication when he’s had numerous people trying to get in touch with him and numerous phone calls there is a problem. It’s truly a sad office. Don’t get me wrong, some nurse and others are awesome but they let too many people fall to the wayside, if you don’t stay on their butts 24/7 you will be forgotten
