About Wise Path Recovery Centers – Williamson
Wise Path Recovery Centers operates from 859 Alderson Street in Williamson. The site sits in Mingo County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Chattaroy and Delbarton. West Virginia draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Hospital inpatient care, detox, residential treatment and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Detox and Rehab Services at Wise Path Recovery Centers
Withdrawal management covers alcohol, benzodiazepine, cocaine, methamphetamine and opioid dependence and is handled on site rather than referred elsewhere. Someone starting in detox can move into residential care without changing provider or repeating an intake. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Residential runs both short and long term, so the question at intake is which length the assessment points toward. Buprenorphine and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together.

Wise Path Recovery Centers Address, Location and Contact Information
The address is 859 Alderson Street, Williamson, WV 25661, in Mingo County. The catchment reaches Chattaroy and Delbarton. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Telehealth appointments cover some contact where travel is difficult, which removes part of the journey for people further out. Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

Wise Path Recovery Centers Reviews and Ratings

I just wanted to take a minute to write a review for WisePath. I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to write this one because I had such a great experience. I’ve struggled with addiction since I was 15 years old… and I’m 42 now. This is my 4th time attempting rehab over the last 20 years and by far was the best experience I’ve ever had. I loved the people I went through this program with and feel like I made some friends and good sober connections. The staff was amazing. I felt like therapy was actually therapeutic and really helped me process a lot. I realized I carried a lot of past trauma in me that I’ve never dealt with like losing my brother to a heroin overdose 13 years ago. I’ve been numbing and self medicating for 25 years. My therapist was Liz and she helped me and was so kind and understanding. The other rehabs felt like “therapy” was something they had to do for funding and I never got anything out of it. A lot of the bht’s were great and went out of their way to listen or help me with the daily living stuff. My favorites were Kerry, Haley, Dexter, Malea, Josh and of course James. He’s a great role model and example of what being sober and well looks like. He actively works an NA program and you can tell. I appreciate all the talks and advice for my sober journey and love that he believes in me so much. Him and I are even going to start an NA meeting together at the Mat program on Wednesday night because Williamson doesn’t have any NA meetings. It’s so nice to be believed in and have him be willing to give his time. He gives me so much hope and I really admire and respect him. He also told me to get my butt to a meeting right when I get out and I did and got a sponsor! I’m going to work the steps and feel like I’m really going to get it this time. This rehab has made me want it and has given me so many tools to actually achieve it. I feel high on life for the first time in a really long time. I have to acknowledge the case managers too. Jon taught me so much about the Bible and God but I mostly worked one on one with Virginia who was great. She was also helping about 40 other people but always made time for me. She has great resources and actually helped me with so many things I needed to deal with. She shared her story with me and I felt connected, supported and even loved by her. And the directors Dave T and Kim B are so patient and kind and make you want to be sober. Their energy, love and excitement for sobriety is contagious. They really believe in each and every person. I’ve learned so much and will use what I’ve learned there always. Also I got baptized there and was able to go to church. They took us to the gym and cooking class. To two outside AA meetings a week. We made tie dye shirts and did an ice bath and dunk tank. Had bbq’s and fun outings. They showed me how to have fun in sobriety and made me want it for the first ever for myself. I thank you very much and highly recommend this place for treatment. The one major downfall is the food and water. Which they are fixing the food situation on the 1st of August so I’m hoping the future clients will eat better. We should be able to get candy or bring your own water bottles in my opinion, especially since they don’t provide it. They wanted me to drink tap water or too sweet juice. I won’t drink either. Only 2 small cups of coffee with milk in the morning and no milk and no sugar at lunch. Most of us want cream and sugar. We need to be rehydrated not leaving dehydrated. Overall I give it a 5 out of 5. No place is perfect or the cleanest but that place really tries to help you and I got so much out of my time there. I thank each and every person that helped me through the first two months of my sobriety. I hope to be a part of the alumni and get activities going that only alumni can be involved in. I will stay in touch and help in any way I can. I can’t give enough praise or tell you just how grateful I truly am. I’m hoping I can tell them when I’m 1 year, 5 years, 10 years and hopefully 20 years that I’m still sober thanks to them!
This place has went to absolute hell. They run it like a prison. I see people screaming at the staff constantly, other patients making threats to patients, all female staff sometimes and if males was to fight they could… do absolutely nothing to stop it. Some of the staff do care about you, but they do absolutely bare minimum when it comes to the actual job. They even handed a patient keys to everything there and treated him like an actual employee before he was ever an employee or anything. The absolute worst part is all the drama. They do nothing to stop it and they more or less encourage it. I see staff talking about other patients and degrading them. If you have private insurance you could definitely do better, hell probably even Medicaid has better options.
Horrible experience, would not recommend
West Virginia has much better options if you have private health insurance.
Lovely place staff even better. Owe my new start to an old beginning to them. Love them all Kim Bailey on damn great theropods and mentor. Recommended this facility to anybody serious about recovery and living!
Nice place with great staff!
Thought was a excellent place to come for recovery
I would recommend wise path to any and everyone! I love the staff they will go out of their way to help you in any way. My stay at Wise path felt more like being with a supportive family.
Wise Path Recovery Center has truly been a life-changing place—not just for me, but for so many others I’ve had the privilege to witness on their journey to recovery. The growth and transformation that happens here is… incredible. What really sets Wise Path apart is the people. Everyone who works here genuinely cares. You can feel the compassion, dedication, and commitment in everything they do. This is not just a job to them—it’s a mission. No place is perfect, but what I admire most is that any issues that have come up were addressed and corrected. The center has grown so much over the past year, and it’s clear they’re always striving to improve and provide the best support possible. I highly recommend Wise Path Recovery Center to anyone seeking real help and a place that truly makes a difference.
Much needed support in this area and state for recovery. Great support and clinical staff at this facility. Would recommend everyone that needs help with addiction, to consider this program for their assistance.

Wise Path Recovery Centers in Williamson, WV has the most amazing, caring and compassionate staff that I know of in behavioral health 💚🌱
We are forever grateful for Wise Path Recovery Center!! My mother-in-law Brenda Kelly was a patient there 6 months and a half months ago as an ultimatum to attend her son and my wedding. From the second that we brought… her to Wise Path she was greeted with open arms and we knew she was in a good place when the staff said “Welcome Brenda, we are so happy you are here.” She was cared for like no one has ever cared before and truly enjoyed every second of being there (we thought she wasn’t going to want to come home!) She fought to be there as getting cleared to be a patient was a WHOLE process but she did it! (shoutout to Russell for answering my calls at all hours of the night to figure out a plan to get her into their treatment) She learned how to enjoy her life sober and has continued with mental health care after the program as recommended by Wise Path. My husband and his siblings finally have their mom back after 30+ years. We got to celebrate our wedding with her there, my husband got to have his mother son dance (when we initially started planning he didn’t want to even think about that part of the wedding), and yesterday we celebrated Mother’s Day with her a whole lot differently than in the past. Every day we get a little less worried if she will remain sober, I think it’s fair to say that there will always be worries, but we are so incredibly proud of her for doing all the hard work and for all the staff at Wise Path who helped her along the way. Thank you for giving us these special moments back with our beloved Brenda.
Really helped our family in WV
I give them 1 star but only to leave a review anyways I have a very close friend whom has tried to sign herself in not once but twice but only got treated as if she was no good a junkie better yet that’s a place that I… would not recommend no one going to I walked my friend there with all her things now keep in mind we were walking ibuprofen the time we made it there our cloths were soaked I asked for a drink of water 3 sitter times and well it went thru 1 ear right out the other I was so hot I’ve never been treat so badly in my life I thought places like that were supposed to to help you not make you feel like jumping off a bridge
Horrible place would not recommend for anyone.
If I could give a ZERO... I would. My poor husband was there for TWO DAYS when he was transferred to a hospital. WHILE HE WAS GONE, his belongings were distributed to OTHER PEOPLE!! So now, 2 weeks later, he came to get… his things. He left with no SHOES, AND NO UNDERWEAR WHATSOEVER. I am one mad wife! Anyway-- hope yall enjoy your amenities!
I've been here 3 times going on this time and I wouldn't have any other way to detox. Thank you... All the staff.
When I was here, it was called Kathy Ireland's. Going there was the best decision I have ever made in my life. That was almost 2 years ago. Megan is absolutely wonderful , and Reniesa, what can you say about her. I… absolutely love all the woman and men who worked there when I was there.. I would recommend this rehab to anyone..
If I could sum it up in one word, I’d have to say, unstructured! EXTREMELY SHORT STAFFED!!! Outside of building looks nice, but the inside (residential) falling apart! Staff (techs) will talk to patients about other… patients, constantly violating HIPPA!!! Staff allows “some” patients to do as they please (cut lines & walk into staff areas without asking!) While others, those who follow the rules & are there for their recovery, to get less privileges! 3-5 staff members per shift with 48 patients, while trying to get some to methadone clinic/hospitals & doctors appointments/groups/meetings/gym/daily activities/and more!!! Men & women on the same floor with only 2 groups Monday-Friday but not guaranteed you’ll get those & then after 3pm nothing!!! No in-house NA or AA, no gym time, no daily schedule that’s followed or enforced! The only thing that is guaranteed daily is your meals, your smoke breaks, and lots of free time! Signs posted on all staff doors that patients are NOT allowed in certain areas or rooms, yet nonstop they allow certain ones to come in & do as they please for themselves…cutting the line for whatever is called (food, hygiene, snacks, cigarettes/vapes)! They might as well allow patients to run the show because they mostly do! First time in rehab & prayers it be the last!!!! The place is NOT at all what a rehab should be! I can get more recovery on the streets/at home in a week than they can offer in their 28 day program! Guys and girls together in detox & residential, not living together but dating/hooking up! All the drama that comes with the mixing of sexes is way too much for such fragile individuals who are new into recovery! Recovery is suppose to be about oneself & finding oneself, even creating oneself…NOT making a 1 person issue doubled plus adding more issues to the pile! MAT (Medically Assisted Treatment: Suboxone or Methadone) patients nodded out in groups w/ non-medically assisted patients creating triggers to those not medicated! I can say there was a few amazing & helpful staff members who deeply love & enjoy their job and do the best they can, but VERY very few! Plz plz plz think twice & look for somewhere else before deciding to send or go to this place!
Nice TV lounge and comfortable chairs they even have the big bouncy balls you can sit on too. On a positive note they will at no extra cost lose your luggage and purse. Overall not a good place. Just My experience.
Some good recovery here. They had my intake paperwork completely messed up saying I had cancer, and dishonorable discharge from the military which I've never been in. 2 techs stole from me, a pack of cigarettes and a… 60$ adidas bag. It was like pulling teeth trying to get them to get my paperwork done for FMLA.. but like I said, there was positivity at the facility
Excellent providers to assist patients when they are serious about their recovery from addiction.
The councilors and care coordinators are GREAT. And maybe 2 of the techs. But MOST of the techs which is who you're stuck with 95% of the time are AWFUL! DEFINITELY would NOT recommend!!!!!
The owner of the facility is a horrible, belittling woman. The facility itself was beneficial. As a recovering addict, I was treated horribly by Tina Richards.
This place is a joke! Brought my son here one day and he walked away the next day. So anyone can walk in or out without being noticed. They are definitely not a caring staff and none of them are on the same page with… what’s going on with the patient. They did not give all my son’s home medications to him the night he went in. They only gave him one pill that night and gave him the rest of his meds the next morning. It’s essential that you take your medication around the same time everyday. You think they would know this, but guess not! They had a cart of supper food, UNCOVERED, in the hallway waiting to fill plates up and feed it to their patients, while staff walking back and forth past it, very unsanitary and possibly cold food too. Yes I seen this with my own eyes ( I’m the mother) as I stated above anyone can walk in or out of this place. Also you cannot enjoy any outdoor activities because there is nothing but a parking lot outside with construction all around it. So if you go in this facility depressed you will come out more depressed. It’s so sad there’s no help for our loved ones/substance abuse, no one seems to care!!
This is a great place much needed in this area
