What DUI program does Nevada require for a Las Vegas case?

Nevada requires an evaluation as the core of its DUI rules for a Las Vegas case, done at an evaluation center authorized by the state Division of Public and Behavioral Health under Nevada Revised Statutes 484C.050. State law requires that evaluation for a first-time offender whose alcohol concentration was 0.16 or more, under section 484C.350.

A separate section, 484C.360, provides for placing a person under the clinical supervision of a treatment provider. An education course, an evaluation and clinical treatment are different steps, and the sentence in your Las Vegas case says which ones apply. Statewide rules are covered on the Nevada DUI and DWI programs page.

Whether a virtual or online option counts is for the court handling your case to decide, so get that answer in writing before you enroll. When an evaluation finds a substance use disorder, the court can order treatment at the level the evaluator recommends, from outpatient care to residential programs.
