Rehabs in Utah That Take PCN

PCN is an abbreviated coverage name listed by treatment centers in Utah, and plans or programs using it can include drug and alcohol treatment, with benefits varying by plan, network and level of care.

Utah facilities here write PCN on their own websites without spelling out the full name. The abbreviation can stand for different things, including a provider network or a limited public program, and some limited programs cover only primary care. Check your card or eligibility letter for the full name, then contact the facility and the plan before admission about benefits, network status, prior authorization and costs.

Common questions about Utah Primary Care Network (PCN)

Answered from what is listed here.

What is the Utah Primary Care Network (PCN)?

The Primary Care Network was a limited package of preventive and primary care benefits for uninsured Utah adults aged 19 to 64, created under Utah's 1115 waiver and started July 1, 2002. It did not cover the full Medicaid benefit package.

PCN was suspended March 31, 2019 and no longer enrolls anyone.

Is the Utah Primary Care Network still active?

No, PCN stopped enrolling new members on March 31, 2019. Every PCN enrollee was transitioned into Adult Expansion Medicaid on April 1, 2019, which carries the full Traditional Medicaid benefit package instead of PCN's limited primary care coverage.

Utah's PCN web page now returns an error, confirming the program is closed.

What happened to people enrolled in PCN?

Everyone enrolled in the Primary Care Network was automatically moved into Adult Expansion Medicaid on April 1, 2019. This gave former PCN members the same Traditional Medicaid benefits that children, pregnant women, and aged, blind, or disabled members receive, including substance use disorder treatment.

No action was required from PCN members for the switch to take effect.
