We enrolled my daughter in this program with high hopes. I couldn’t be more disappointed. This business is exactly that, A BUSINESS. A money grab with the pretense of helping teens with mental health issues. If anything… my daughter’s mental health was WORSE once we finally decided to pull her from this program and enroll her in a far superior program. As a parent I encourage others to do your research and find somewhere else for your child!

I was there from October of 2023 to the end of February 2024, the staff were great and very compassionate, it was mainly just the management and higher ups. They kinda sucked at dealing with intake and hiring staff when… they were way understaffed. They made me stay an extra month after the prior 90 days ended and had kept an 18 year old in the program when the cut off is 17. Maybe they're better now but for me, my experience was mediocre and subpar.

Very disappointed. Our son went there for 70 days; family session were very challenging due to the internet cutting off all the time, communication was lacking, we had to conference with the insurance company multiple… times to extend our son’s stay because the therapists didn’t file the paperwork on time, we are still struggling to get our son’s records after sending a Release Of Information almost a month ago. My son’s issues that were described at intake were not addressed over the 70 days he stayed there. This place lacks professionalism considering the daily rate in the 4 digits.

Like the others, I wish I could give this place a zero star. I live next door to one of their facilities in San Martin. Last night, a young child ran over to our house from the street barefoot, (we have a 5 acre lot,… mind you), balling their eyes out, shaking, and desperate for help. The child expressed that they ran away because they were SA'd. The child had not showered or eaten in days. The child shared more horrific details about their treatment at the facility, but I don't think it's necessary to disclose more. We took the child inside and took care of them. The sheriffs office came over to our house, but the organization did not report the child missing until 2 hours after we had called the sheriff!! There are ONLY 6 KIDS there at a time!! IT SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN 2 HOURS TO REALIZE SOMEONE IS MISSING. Unfortunately, about 5 hour after she had been at our home, it was decided that they had to send the child back, despite the fact that the child didn't feel safe and had been SA'd. (Please note, we strongly question whether the sheriffs enacted the correct protocol regarding the SA.) We were resistant to send the child back after hearing how they were treated but there was nothing we could do because of the legal restrictions. When we walked the child back, the staff treated the child, us, and EVEN THE SHERIFF with a cold, unwelcoming, and annoyed attitude. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. This is not the first time incidents like this have happened and we fully intend to report this to CPS to investigate the facility.

We took our Son to Embark San Martin and we have had great results so far. Our Son is beginning to turn around after just a few weeks in the program. The staff has been extremely professional and helpful. Right in the… middle of treatment, we had problems with insurance denying benefits before our Son is ready to be discharged, and as any parent might feel, this was way beyond stressful, and scary. Throughout this challenge with insurance, all staff at Embark was amazing. They supported us, stood behind us in every way, showed concern and care for our family and our child and didn’t limit their engagement with us to their normal 8-5:00 hours. They were available every step of the way including just checking in on us to make sure we were alright as parents in an unbelievably stressful situation. We went after multiple appeals and the insurance denial was overturned because we never gave up fighting for the rights of our child to receive appropriate treatment. Our Son continues his treatment there and he has been able to form connections and build trust that is enabling him to get the help he so deserves to receive. My husband and I are very grateful to Embark, and all of the staff, as this will change the life of our family forever.

The team at San Martin is second to none. Their compassion and dedication to the students and families are something to strive for. The facilities are gorgeous and bring a home-like atmosphere to those who are… struggling. I am thoroughly impressed by the residential and clinical staff at San Martin as they approach each student with love and care. The support they provide to each other is admirable and I am lucky to have worked with them. Thank you for all you do!
