My Autistic Son was recently admitted here due to behavioral issues. I always thought I was failing if he ended up in hospital but now I feel like i failed not bringing him sooner. The people in your Neuro dept are… absolutely amazing! I can't express how impressed I.was with the level of love, care and support my Son received. I pretty much stayed with him the whole time and I felt so safe and supported. He was there 9 days and we both learned a lot. So far it's been great having him home, but I wouldn't hesitate to bring him back if he needs more help. I will forever be grateful to the nuero team at childrens. Shout out to these behavioral therapists who are rock stars....Brian, Beanie, Inya, Amanda, Becca and Katelyn!!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Resided here years ago, was treated with dignity and respect. The staff were super down to earth and very spiritual. Thanks for making my experience here a good one all them years ago.
This place has been amazing for my brother for many years. The new building is even better and provides a very healing atmosphere. I am so glad that this place exists for kids who need a high level of support and… interventions.
I was admitted when I was 17 in February of 2026 due to a mental health crisis. I was there around a week, and during my stay I met many helpful staff members who encouraged my recovery. There was a huck who helped me… get in contact with my friend, even though I was out of calls for the day. One staff, I believe his name was Mr. Hal, allowed me to confide in him. He was always in a great mood, joking around (he was big on apple juice and I’m pretty sure I heard him mention it 10+ times in the three days i saw him; I hope he got his juice box after work). Another staff, Emma, went above and beyond for me even when she wasn’t my staff. One night a patient was struggling in the dayroom while I was on the phone, so I ended up having to cut my call short (everybody had to go to their rooms). I was stressed about the situation, and she came and sat on the floor of my room with me and talked to me the entire time. Afterwards, she let me go back out and finish up my call, even though it was time for hall time. She would genuinely listen, and always seemed interested in what I had to say. She would talk me down whenever I was mad, and would uplift me when I was feeling upset. Thank you to all three of these staff members, +all of the ones I didn’t mention, for helping me “protect my peace” during my stay, and also equipping me with the skills to cope in my adult life.
I went here twice as a child(ages 7 and 9) for severe anger issues as an autistic kid with adhd. I went here early last decade though so I don't know what it's like now. First time I don't remember much but It was… Valentine's day and I dreamt of me and mom’s car falling off of a bridge. Second time I got admitted I was almost jumping out of my gown with joy to go back. I quite enjoyed my experience. Food was alright, they let me watch TV all night and I had fun. They had 100 calories nabisco crisps and splash as snacks and I get nostalgic when I eat them now. I know, I'm a little weirdo for enjoying it but just know, the mental hospital can be fun. They do lock people in rubber rooms though(no rats). I was locked multiple times. I found my all time favorite show here. A few cons, they're wasteful. They make you change your socks, toilet paper, and soap everyday. I used to hide mine when the cleaning people came by. I still have 5 grippy sock pairs because of that. Also, showers in the shared room is just a shower head in the open bathroom. They also took my book and never gave it back. It was not even mine, It was my teacher's that I brought from her room. They don't let you wear your clothes or leave the floor unless you have 3 good days. First time I got to leave the floor, they have a gym, game room, playground, etc. I got a doll with a gown too still have it somewhere. But ya know, It's a hospital. I think they should make a psych ward resort or something, though. It's cool.
Bro I miss my hospital friends
Nice place and staff very friendly
My son's stay really helped him get out of his depression, staff was awesome and the MyChart App let's you see every test result/chart note/meds anything they do while he's there almost as soon as they do it. It's… amazing and goes a long way to keep Mom brain from panicking.
This place is Very Clean the staff from The Security Guards to the Receptionist, Cleaning staff, Social workers, and staff on the units are very professional knowledgeable compassionate. It is a place for young kids… with behavioral issues and issues of that nature.
I was locked up here in P3 North against my will in 2012-2013. I was treated like a criminal. I wasn't a patient, I was an inmate. I went in for a schizophrenic episode I had, I came out suicidal. Welcome to Hell. It… reminds me a lot of "Demented Hills" from that movie Good Burger.
How ridiculous! They only have therapy sessions Tuesday through Thursday at 8 am and 9:30 am. It's impossible!
Horrible place I was verbally and emotionally abused by a social worker her name was Laura Davin. I still often feel suicidal because of the things she said to me but I was too scared to speak up.she even hit me at one… point when I was sleeping then accused me of fake sleeping She told me the people here have real issues and it's not a place to sleep and get free food just horrible I was only 14 had issues with anxiety and severe depression and insomnia I would often sleep alot during the day as a result.
This place is the worst chemically restrained autistic child neglected her care blame game a few nurses were. Great 1 sitter that was with my daughter was amazing they took her autism behavior out of context There needs… to be a better place for autistic with ADHD than this place there treated like animals we moved out of Ohio for better health for daughter do not send your kid here every
Not very good, the experience here was not helpful. All we did was wake up, go to groups, eat, go to groups, sleep. All they did was drill coping skills into our head, no actual therapy to target our actual issues.… Their treatment team doesn't even follow the rules they say they do. These guys don't know what they're doing, they say they follow the DSM-5 then blatantly contradict it. Been here 5 times, hated it every time. Don't send your kids here, they will leave worse than they came.
Do not send your child here. Psych wards are NO place for children. I was forcefully admitted to this place back in '10 at just 9 years old. I was an undiagnosed, autistic little girl in a crisis. I had severe autistic… meltdowns and nobody could figure out what was "wrong" with me. I was never violent toward anyone or myself, but my "poor behavior" was reason enough to abandon me and lock me up here for an entire week. I did not receive any real support or help. We would wake up, eat, have a group discussions and activity, and that was it. I had no idea why I was even there in the first place, the doctors couldn't explain anything to me. This was INCREDIBLY distressing as a young child. I was told that I would have to stay there for 3 days. My parents came on that day where I was informed I would have to stay the rest of the week. This of course sent me into another meltdown which led the doctors to lock me up in a padded room. Instead of recognizing that I was a child who needed help and was dealing with emotional turmoil- they decided locking me away was in my best interest. I was seen as something to be "fixed" rather than supported and uplifted. The fear that was instilled in me from this caused me to completely mask for years and bottle up all of my emotions. I was essentially a zombie and having an identity crisis after just graduating HIGH SCHOOL! I still have persisting trauma from this experience at 24 years old. Thankfully, I have gotten a diagnosis and real support for myself. But I will never, ever forget this place. It was an utter nightmare.
This hospital has helped me so much thank. You
I had to come in here 2 times when I was younger, all I gotta say is the Doc's are really nice.
It's always hard when your child is struggling. College Hill was so great for my son. They truly care about your child. I would definitely recommend any family that needs services to please try here. My sons first time… here was a 6 week stay and his second time was around 10 weeks I think. He has a lot of different challenges and they always make sure he is okay. I have not had any issues at college hill.
They really care and protect the children!!! Amazing people at their best 😉😎
I hated it here, they didn't even treat me, all I did was just wake up, eat, go to groups, eat, go to groups, and eat, etc. It is the most horrible mental hospital I've ever gone to. I also felt way more suicidal after.
I loved the people there they help me a lot he staff were great the new building is amazing and i was protected no matter what the situation was even tho all the restraints where very aggressive they help as much as… they can i love how they never stop trying to help, im very greatful for ms Sydney and ms alexia i was there growth and i will forever remember them so will i with ms emma, some staff were on going on rules like ms ekko she was structure and good at keep everything on track ms alexia and ms sydney were my favorite bhs and ms emma was my favorite nurse and not to mention i cared for a lot of the staff like ms Angelique she was a good bhf and i cared about ms alyssa and ms ki they were also good bhs i respected the staff support and i couldn't ask for any one new i also had a great bond with some of the male staff being a female teenager and having mother/father figures in the hospital was great i felt wanted and loved
GPS system needs to be updated
this place was really awesome. you’re able to hangout either in your room or in the living room whenever u want and hangout with other patients. the staff were really nice
