Southwestern Behavioral Care Inc – Latrobe Detox and Rehab Services
What Southwestern Behavioral Care Inc – Latrobe offers, on record, is intensive outpatient and outpatient care. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.
Co-occurring mental health conditions are addressed alongside substance use, which is the approach the evidence supports. Ask directly about session times and frequency, as those details decide whether someone can realistically attend.

I can't rate any lower. They overbook, so you wait over an hour for medication appointments that take 3 minutes, but if you're over 15 minutes late to sit in the waiting room, it's a problem. Don't go here.
I used to go here in December of 2025 but because of current events I had to come back to Eastern Pennsylvania to take care of my sister and mom and the back and forths but absolutely 💯 friendly atmosphere, they are… kind and very welcoming and caring for their patients, I’ve been in worse outpatient facilities, they do an outstanding job, Riley has been one 1️⃣ of the greatest nurse practitioners I worked with! Very honest modest and very informative and very helpful and understanding thank you western pa! Zeke Fera
I give it a 4 star rating its a very nice place to go for help they care alot I was not doing so well before I was always depressed medicine change and other stuff but I came here in January of this year and I… definitely recommend this place
I have been a patient to this office for several years now. I cant say that I've ever had a negative experience with them. The staff is friendly and go above and beyond for my needs. I've never had to wait long to be… seen. Everyone is very efficient from the front desk personnel to the therapists and doctors. WPABH has had a positive impact on my mental health and health care in general.
This is my dad’s business and i am 9 i think he is nice i am not sure what you guys are talking about you guys strait up just want him to lose money. And i think his employees are nice because they are always nice to… other patients i see.
Definitely do NOT recommend this facility. All staff are extremely unprofessional, arrogant, & rude. Extremely difficult to be seen at your scheduled appointment time (I was seen 30 minutes to an hour after my scheduled… time nearly every appointment to every other appointment) Being seen by their psychiatrists in an appropriate appointment time frame is a total joke.. The “psychiatrists” definitely do not listen to you or your concerns & challenge you as if you don’t really know how you feel. If I could give this place a 0 star review I definitely would, so save yourself the stress, time, & aggravation & seek treatment els where!!
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT come here if you're LGBT+. Got laughed out of the practice. Reported them to DHS, the state was fairly ticked off. Didn't help some sketchy dude came in, screamed at the receptionist cause… he missed his appt then kept mean mugging everyone in the parking lot. This place is more like a forensic psych ward than a place to get help. I sincerely have never been treated this poorly, and I've admittedly seen my share of mental health practitioners and been to my share of hospitals.
Not a big fan, I didn't really feel heard during my appointment today. It felt almost as rushed, and they just threw medicine together and called it a day.
My father has to go here because of Dr. Somen coming here. She then disappeared and we got stuck with someone whi isn't for us. We stopped going there. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. Everyone there is… horrible including the receptionists.
I heard the doctors were great but I never made it past the front desk staff. Angela was quite rude and the fact that they will laugh at someone in crisis says all I needed to know about their professionalism.
It's just... terrible. The doctors are great! The issue is GETTING to the doctors. For example: I have monthly appointments because I am on medication for my ADHD and with it being a controlled substance, they want to… see me in person to refill. I travel a lot for work and it's always a challenge to even be in town, but hey - I do what I can. I had an appointment at 3:15pm a few days ago. I showed up and walked in the door at precisely 3:15pm. The reason I know that is that I have ADHD and I am NEVER exactly on time, so I was VERY proud of myself for being there. When I arrived, the receptionist was on the phone and had two other patients filling out forms in front of me. I waved at her and sat down. About 15 minutes later, I was told that I was "late" for my appointment and would have to be rescheduled. Well... No. I was right on time - your STAFF was late checking me in! Hey, no big deal - I took a flight from Florida to make the appointment and... nope. I just got a call from Marissa to tell me that they would be unable to fill my meds because I "missed" my appointment. Well... No... I was there, exactly on time - YOU missed my appointment. When Tammy, her boss got on the phone, she tried to make excuses for their mistake - But also, were unable to fill my meds. Forget about the terrible customer service - it's medically irresponsible. You have patients that DEPEND on their meds, and when YOU cause a lapse in treatment, it could be devastating to their care. You guys went to school for this, right? Thank GOD my PCP is amazing and understanding and I never have to deal with the horrid staff at WPABHR ever again. I caution ANYONE who values consistent patient care to look elsewhere.
I can’t say enough positive comments about the staff that I was fortunate and blessed to meet and work with starting with the warm and friendly Front Administrator at check in and to the help and guidance from Crystal… and Cheyenne. They were always professional, down to earth, and empathic. They have saved my life.
Never been spoken to like this in my life by any professional (?) person. Rude, condescending, smirking as she refused to provide any treatment for anxiety. Totally unprofessional. Couldn't care less about their patent.… Never even saw a Dr. just staff. Couldn't explain the most perfunctory paperwork. Told them I won't be back.
I don't understand some of the negative reviews. Dr. Shahoud was the only doctor who seem to understand my issues before even I came to terms with it saying he didn't think I was starting to develop schitzophrenia but… that it was trauma related. I think he had intended to keep a close watch on the matter to see if there was more evidence rather than commit to the theory. Coming back here later on with more knowledge to be able to voice my concerns, Dr. Alexander was finally able to refer me to actual nueropsychological testing. This has been the only mental health facility I've been to in this area where the doctors listen to you and really want to help.
Don't waste your time. No empathy and you will have more anxiety than u did.
Disaster for mental health
I've been going to this place for 5 years minimum, I've lost count on how many "psychiatrists" I've had and have stopped remember names at this office nobody ever stays to remember your story or problems, in essence… nobody here can help you apart from medication and even thats a game of darts good luck Nothing good to say so ill leave it at this
I have had nothing but great experience with this place. After searching for a long time I finally found people who have helped me with my mental health.
I hate seeing the negative comments about this place. Everyone may have had different experiences, which is okay. Some therapist/psychiatrist aren’t the one for you. But this has been the first place I have been able to… find a genuine therapist that has helped me more than any I have ever had.
This place is an abomination against anyone that has TRUE psychological issues that they are dealing with. They are unprofessional to the point of being a detriment. Jennifer Hrimnock is a coward and a spineless… unprofessional human being that hid behind her supervisor who did her dirty work for her when she did not have the decency to explain whatever issue(s) she had with me to begin with and just cut me off and left me without a counselor to go to. I would NEVER recommend WPABHR to ANYONE for fear of the retribution that would be visited upon me for recommending such a loathsome place. I would go ANYWHERE else before I would go back to here. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
Slow appointments sometimes hours of waiting. Therapists are professional and some of the nurses. But overall this office needs some major changes and i am looking for a new doctor sadly. Also they need to refill… medications on time and get a better system for their patients appointments. As well as keep better medical records of disabled patients. Keep better tabs on record appointment keeping in general. And lastly not cut patients off their medications they have been on for over 15 years! Without proper lower the dosage.
Only care about lining their own pockets with your insurance money, they do not care about a patients needs. They have a book of set procedures they follow for all patients. Instead of treating everyone different like… they actually are. Horrible place. Would leave 0 stars if possible. They don’t deserve any stars. Do not take your loved ones here.
