About Safer Foundation – Chicago

Safer Foundation is at 808 South Kedzie Avenue in Chicago. Cicero is 3.3 miles away and Oak Park 4.5. Within around 5 miles that includes Cicero, Oak Park, Berwyn and Stickney. Chicago sits in Cook County, and the county’s own provision is limited enough that this site draws from a wide area.

The facility runs intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Buprenorphine, methadone or naltrexone can be prescribed alongside therapy. Addiction and mental health care run alongside each other here. Telehealth appointments are available, which matters where the drive is long. Trauma-specific treatment is available here. SAMHSA holds the federal registration; the Illinois Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery the state license.

Safer Foundation – Chicago Detox and Rehab Services

Treatment at Safer Foundation – Chicago covers intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Day programming is scheduled, with evenings spent at home. What suits one person will not suit another, so ask directly. It is reasonable to ask how progress is reviewed and by whom.

Both conditions are treated in parallel, which is what the research supports. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. Establishing what happens after the program ends is worth doing early. Ask how the program handles someone who has been through treatment before.

They wasted my time , and was very unprofessional about especially the young man at the desk . I knew it would be some mess when the lady called me back and didn’t remember who she was talking to schedule me to come in… the following day to see me at the door and whisper in the man’s ear to say she didn’t schedule me and don’t know me so I wouldn’t waste my time to go there I traveled a long way . It was how they played it telling me I didn’t make a appointment because I came late instead of them having good customer service they acted like I don’t know what I’m talking about the lady never gave me her name to begin with but it’s all good I’ll go somewhere else for the CTA program some of them think because you striving for better they will treat you like nothing .that man at the desk saying I dont see you in the system you never asked me my name like what ?! I wouldn’t refer my Dog

The worst experience ever, no programs for felons. Kept getting the run- around from staff. Then gave me resources in Hammond,IN. I ended-up finding a job myself. I would not recommend Safer foundation.

I went to Safer foundation when they were located downtown off clinton I graduated with my GED and also got me enrolled into Coyne American for HVAC. Glad to see they are still changing lives. Best time I ever had the… guy took us to baseball games and use to give us 5 bucks a day for lunch and bus fare back an forth. I truly respect them and if they ever need anything I am there. This program was referred to me by my probation officer to help find a job. I was told I had to complete a training in order to get a job. I completed the program and received an award letter of completion and was told… to complete a drug test in order to proceed. 3 months later I’m still waiting for the test results to come back and whenever I follow up with the results no one is ever available to speak with me. Honestly this place was a waste of time all together! Do not recommend coming here for any help.
