Clarity Clinic – Evanston

I like Clarity very much. The only negative that I do not like is I use a walker. Without a self opening door it is almost impossible for me to enter and leave. I've been told I am not the only one who has this issue

I’ve had an extremely frustrating experience with this clinic due to repeated breakdowns in basic care coordination. After my child’s original provider rescheduled multiple times and then left the clinic, we were… reassigned to another provider. Since then, getting a routine prescription refill for a psychiatric medication has been unnecessarily difficult. Multiple refill requests were submitted by the pharmacy and through the patient portal, yet staff repeatedly gave conflicting information—saying the prescription was sent, then later saying they couldn’t find any request at all. Front desk staff stated they were “messaging the doctor,” but there was no clear follow-through or accountability, and no one could explain why the prescription wasn’t being filled. As a result, my child missed school due to lack of medication. Communication was inconsistent, guidance on filing a grievance was unclear, and I was left doing the work of tracking and escalating what should have been a simple refill. Mental health care requires reliability and continuity. Unfortunately, this clinic did not provide that. I would strongly caution parents to consider whether this level of disorganization is acceptable when timely care truly matters.

The billing process is very confusing for the customer. I called for an explanation about how their process works. I was given an explanation, but, I was left even more confused. I requested to stop auto-billing because… at the moment, I have a suspicion that they are either unorganized or are scamming vulnerable patients. I have a suspicion that it's both. Please beware.

Very accessible and convenient with in-office/onsite or zoom appointments. Would recommend as good starting point for finding a therapist or assessing alternatives.

Short wait straightforward doctors and therapists

I wasted four months with Justin Lee and got nowhere. I originally sought help for ADHD symptoms that I’ve experienced since childhood, but instead of truly listening, he dismissed my concerns and disagreed with my… self-assessment. Our meetings were short (15–20 minutes at most) and felt more like a way to bill me rather than provide real support. When the medication he prescribed wasn’t working for me, I stopped taking it - but instead of discussing alternative solutions, he threatened to drop me as a client for not informing him first. Rather than working with me to find the right treatment, he made me feel unheard and unsupported. Thankfully, I’ve since found a real ADHD specialist who actually listens and provides meaningful help—no gimmicks, no pointless conversations, and no pressure. If you’re looking for real ADHD care, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. ---- Sent me a bill for 100$ fee after 4 months of no services... with no description of the fee. After 5 month total I get one last bill of 75$, no description. Mind you I was told by them my insurance covered everything. **front desk doesn’t answer calls** BE AWARE OF THEIR BILLING PROCESS AND ASK FOR IDOMIZED STATEMENT. ---

Whatever you do not book with psych doc Amina Rahmen. She did not properly taper me off the antidepressant I was on for two years. Now I am dealing with horrible withdrawal effects due to her lack of concern and… carelessness. She also carelessly prescribed benzos to me without educating me on the side effects. Thank God I didn’t take them cause I already know how bad the withdrawals are for them now. I wouldn’t be surprised if she said just to quit those cold turkey as well. My advice to Clarity Clinic is to please monitor your staff and be careful with the people that you hire at your clinic because it can really harm people.

I’ve been a patient with Clarity for a few months now, and my experience has been by FAR the best I’ve had when it comes to psychiatry. My provider, Jackie Calderon, is SO nice and attentive, the front desk staff are… quite efficient and attentive, and the environment doesn’t feel as sterile and intimidating as you’d expect from a doctors office. I truly couldn’t recommend Clarity enough

Clarity Clinic is a great service for those in need of balance and support. We have worked with several different counselors, but Dane our counselor at Clarity is far and away the best we’ve ever seen. Thank you Dane,… and thank you Clarity Clinic.

Clarity Clinic is an excellent clinic. It was easy and convenient to set up an appointment via the website and the registration process was smooth. I had a few questions so I called the office and the receptionist was… polite, helpful and effortlessly answered my questions. Dr. Amera Rahman is highly intelligent, kind and caring.
