Been trying to get an appointment forever no one calls me back! I have been giving so many different numbers it’s sad! When I did get an appointment they canceled and never rescheduled! Terrible place
I don't know why this company doesn't have a voicemail.
Very unhelpful. Family member had acute mental health crisis that landed them in a facility. The facility released them based on being able to go to Chestnut for outpatient. We were told they had walk in and were… advised to go over immediately after discharge. Unfortunately, we had to check with insurance coverage first which delayed us and we didn't make it before close that day and it was Friday. First thing this morning (Monday at 7:15 a.m.) we called to confirm we could still do walk in today and were told that none of their locations have any walk in services and seemed confused we were even told that. When I mentioned that the facility he was released from literally put this in his discharge instructions I was told that wasn't correct and they do not have walk ins. OK, fine...can we still get set up to be seen then? Filled out the paperwork and sent it back via email while on the phone. They won't do anything until they have all your info. Once received then she said OK, let me see what openings we have to which I was then advised there are no openings this week. OK, what about next week? She explains that the way it works is you call Monday morning at 6:30 a.m. and they schedule you an appointment within 5 days and they don't do future scheduling. Ummm...do we not see the problem here? He was just released for a literal overdose attempt and we called at 7:15 a.m. on Monday morning and you're telling me that within 45 minutes EVERY SINGLE AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT all week is gone? You have no way to see someone who was just referred to you from a facility after a severe acute event? Apparently not because I was told, "Sorry, honey. Try to call again next Monday." No, I don't think we will (and please do not ever call me "honey" again!). We'll be looking for services elsewhere where he can actually get care because even if we did strike the lucky 630 Monday hour they seem to revolve around, there's no guarantee he'd get in from week to week and that is NOT STABILTIY and a mental health facility should know one of the #1 needs in mental health is stability. And also, please do not make people fill out forms and provide SSNs and other PII when you have no availability to even see them anyway. Now they've got multiple documents with full PII and we'll never even get in to see anyone there. Edited to update: when we couldn't get in, we called his primary care doctor for assistance. He, too, advised us to go to Chestnut's walk-in services. When we let them know we already did that, they advised us they do have walk-in and he needed to be seen there as a hospital follow up as instructed. We went to Chestnut again after that, again armed with instructions from a doctor and were again turned away and told there were no walk in services and no appointments available. Did I mention SO unhelpful!
Beautiful place nurses are nice , the woman that answers the phone to get you in the the system as a new client is my favourite don't forget Dr. Haley Jungle she is amazing along with her nurse Monica!!.
Haley Junge is one of a kind! She takes time to listen, ask questions and really try to understand what I'm going through. Thank you, Haley!!
I have nothing to say.
The 630 am appointment race is cruelty.
Very unprofessional location! They make it impossible to speak with an actual staff member or supervisor, you’re transferred to random people voicemail that never return calls.
I have been dealing with Chestnut since 8th grade. I’m 27 now. They have always answered the phone for me, and have protocols to get you in the same week of the phone call. I see Veronica, who is in Granite now. She is… very straight forward. The only things i don’t like is the appointments are basically first come first serve. you have to call by 6:30 am to make an appointment, which will be scheduled that same week. Which is great for mental health. I have Bipolar 1, and Adhd. Was weird how i got prescribed an antipsychotic instead of medications that work well with my diagnoses. The one i was prescribed is mainly prescribed to Schizophrenia patients. Either way, i haven’t got any bad vibes from anyone there. I even still use the same Therapist i met at Chesnut in 8th grade.
I take my son to the belleville location, he sees a counselor there and sees one of the psychiatrist for his medication needs. We haven't had any issues since coming there. My son really enjoys going to see his… counselor, especially on the days the weather is nice and they go walk and tall outside. The ladies at the front desk have always been nice and helpful. And since seeing his psychiatrist there has been a huge improvement with his moods and behavior at home and at school. As of right now I'm a happy mom seeing where he's at now versus a year ago.
I usually go to the one in Bellville, wich by the way is amazing, unfortunately for me my doctor is not available so I was redirected to granite city 😢 the lack of empathy is disgusting, I begged for bridge help until… my appointment for my injection (3 days away) and told them I want to stay clean and I don't want to fall back into my dark past, well they basically said figure it out, smh.. so glad Stephanie (my Bellville doc) provided some extra that I had forgotten about. Otherwise who knows what I would have resorted to.
My therapist was the best she wrote up my letter for my support and made me legal enough to perform
Chestnut has always been my favorite, they are GREAT.... Best around hands down.
The worst service you will find in mental healthcare system they have the worst of practices and making appointments are ridiculous id give a zero if I could.
I’m a new patient and so far have not experienced any issues other than the one receptionist always seems high off something 🤷🏽♀️. Overall no complaints.

I've had à Good Experience here so far , 🤗 Everyone has been very Caring and constantly checking in with me to make sure if I have any Needs that I'm taken care of, Evan if they don't have what I need there they have… taken time to help me find what I need. So I'm Very grateful for their time and interest in my overall health ! Thank You All 🥹
Lost friends to death as i left chs housing. After they grieved a supportive person in their lives. Now Im finding the articles of their death. Chs doesnt give therapy afterwards. I feel stalked daily after coming here
I'm nervous to bring my daughter here after reading all theses bad reviews, this is horrible.
Be team ever
My child has been a patient of Chestnut for several years. The first NP Ashley was great but once she left to work somewhere else we were given a new Nurse Lori Sparr, to prescribe medicine… She has no idea what she’s… doing. The medication she prescribed my child caused hallucinations & made the depression worse, but instead of trying a different medication she wants to keep upping the dose more and more each time making the symptoms even more terrible & extreme. It makes absolutely no sense. I told the nurses line over the phone that I wasn’t comfortable with him using this medication anymore and that we want to try something different. The nurse said that she will talk to Lori Sparr , but can’t see us until the next appointment which was two weeks away. When you have a child on psychiatric medication, you don’t wait two weeks when they are severely depressed and hallucinating… You see them right away. That’s common sense. They didn’t tell me how to wean him off the current medicine or what we should do in the meantime.. . That is completely unprofessional and dangerous. We went to a different doctors office to get a second opinion and now my child is on a new medication and thriving. Do not use Chestnut!!! They play around with psychiatric medication and don’t seem to care about the devastating effects their choices have on children who are in their care. I will be filing complaints with whatever offices I need to including the better business bureau.
love amy + the nurses but the desk staff is so rude and ignorant.
Jeff is a fantastic child therapist. He is super nice and you can tell he loves his job.
This place does not deserve one star. They are the worst. They miss scheduled appointments with no call to reschedule. They have left my sister hanging several times. Today, my sister had a scheduled phone appointment… and they didn't bother calling. My sister called the office and left a message, but they never called back. My sister has mental health issues. My sister was in need of medicine to help her sleep. She's anxious and has been up for 2 days straight. Chestnut needs to be shut down. Rebecca and Ashley need to find different careers. Clearly, they don't want to work and/or help the mentally ill. I will be filing a complaint on my sister's behalf with her Medicaid Insurance and the State.
