Adena Health System – Chillicothe Address, Location and Contact Information
The site is at 272 Hospital Road in Chillicothe, Ohio, 45601. This address falls in Ross County. The catchment reaches beyond the city itself. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.
A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. Where no one answers, leaving a message and calling again later usually works better than giving up.

Hot garbage. Their policies are terrible don’t do your prenatal care there. Scare tactics everywhere.
I spent 4 days at ARMC and had the best treatment. Everyone on floor 3B was absolutely fantastic! The nurses and PCAs were all very kind were able to provide me with whatever I needed. This was my first stay at this… hospital and it couldn't have been better. The food was also delicious and the variety that they have is amazing. Thank you to everyone on 3B! I can't remember everyone's name but they are very special.
Literally pathetic my mother has been in there since early Thursday morning her light in bathroom went out and here it is Sunday and they still haven't fixed it I called the hospital and they said Noone was there on the… weekend to fix it but that's a lie they said Thursday that they would get it done also the Dr's don't come in room and give test results we have to keep bugging and asking the nurses adena hospital is absolutely pathetic and nasty
Rhen, a valet employee, looked at me like I was crazy and stupid for politely asking for a wheelchair for my mother-in-law. He then laughed in my face multiple times and continued to look at me like I was stupid. I then… asked if he was okay, to which he laughed in my face again. I stood up for myself and asked for his name multiple times, but he ignored me. I eventually saw it on his name tag before he just walked away. I have NEVER been treated so poorly in my life. Unacceptable and unprofessional. I wonder how many people he has treated this way, because I bet there are many. This man should not have a job that "helps" others at all, especially vulnerable people who are coming in for medical care. I made a report to the patient advocate, Jennifer, after it happened. He was still there by the time we left. Didn't attempt to help or apologize on the way out. Adena, you better recognize how important this is. It is highly likely that he treats others just as poorly. This does not need to be swept aside. I am a nice person and never once disrespected that man; instead of receiving courteous help, I had to stand up for myself against a bully. Unacceptable.
Can't be bothered to order home meds. Tried to discharge my dad after sudden inability to walk as soon as stroke was ruled out... didn't care that he couldn't walk. "The IV flushes fine, no blood return, but flushes… fine" but ends up with thrombophlebitis. They had no understanding of the difference in an infiltrated IV vs possible infection or thrombophlebitis. They threatened to straight cath to obtain a UA, despite having already completed a UA 2 days prior (bladder was empty per bladder scan). When I complained about a nurse I was told "she won a daisy award" so apparently that negates my complaint. They refused to transfer us somewhere else. The call light times must be awful. One of the telemetry leads kept saying it was off and I was told "it's okay as long as 4 of the 5 leads are on". I could say so much more. Do NOT go here. Believe the horror stories. They are AWFUL. One star because it wouldn't let me post with zero stars.
Very noisy in 3A, seems like a lot of it was on purpose. Didn’t take good care of my mom. She smelled like poop a lot. Not all nurses and doctors were bad. I liked a good bit of them, but some were def not great.… Horrible bedside manner. Left an IV port in her arm. Didn’t notice til she was at the rehab. Didn’t accommodate me at all in 3A when I wanted to spend the night with her. Have not heard from her family doctor even though I called her office myself. They told her that she didn’t have a UTI, and now at the rehab facility, they have put her on a UTI medication. They thought that mom was hard of hearing, even though they knew about her confusion. And just so many other things I could think of later but it’s not coming to mind right now.
Two ER visits. Mis diagnosed issue both times. They never submitted froi workers comp paperwork. Had to call BWC for that. Condition got worse I believe due to their negligence and mis diagnosis. Wouldn’t take my dog… there
The staff here is very kind and professional.
Dirty shower had mold staff very unfriendly and very slow
Ok it dont take forever for the doc to come back when ive already have been here for 3 hours
I was here with my husband due to some breathing and heart issues for three days. Everybody in 3B was absolutely amazing. The nurse was great as was the respiration lady Haley Special shout out to dietary her name is… Cindy. She is absolutely Amazing answered all of my questions with no problem. She was very warm and personable! Thank you so much 3B STAFF AND CREW YOU MADE THIS EXPERIENCE AS GOOD AS IT POSSIBLY COULD BE! From the talkative wife in 3B39
There needs to be an option for 0 stars.
My husband was recently hospitalized for a few days after surgery. The staff on 3NE was wonderful during his stay. Thanks for everything everyone did for him.
So my situation was something you don't typically plan for to say the least went in for water retention and a cough that just wouldn't go away, and ended up staying almost a full week. The staff in the ACHF wing were… amazing to me and my family they made sure we knew what was going on and made sure I was taken care of while I was bed ridden for half my stay. Sheena and Cindy were some of the kindest people I've ever dealt with in a hospital. Cindy even took time to sit down and explain the meds I was going to be taking once I left which helped us understand everything before leaving. Since going back for more tests and other labs the staff has been helpful all the way around definitely grateful for that. Also the financial aspect was super scary but they helped set me up with a assistants program and they helped cover a lot of the expenses and helped with a payment plan that worked for me.
I have been struggling with knee pain since November when my grandkids decided to jump on my knee fighting over my lap. I saw several Drs in the ER and 2 different Drs in Orthopedics and they did nothing. Dr.Loy told me… to do therapy or don't come back so guess what I never went back. I did stay therapy which did nothing for me. I ended up going to OSU to the orthopedic and they sent me to a surgeon cause they said my knee is severe and the surgeon scheduled me for surgery to do a whole knee replacement cause my cartilage what shuttered and my meniscus was shredded and I have fragment pieces laying in my knee cap. I put a complaint and I got a call back from a supervisor asking me a bunch of questions and one was is there anything they could do. Yeah have Dr Loy apologize to me and maybe ask the other ones but yeah okay they do no wrong. I'm done with Adena in all aspects. They did me wrong in so many ways and I used to stick up for adena when people would say something bad about them.
So far if I could give no stars i would my dad is up here with severe blood clots and a chance of loosing his legs and why have we been here since midnight and they have yet to do any surgery
I'm not sure about the entire facility, but they don't come much better than the folks in 3NE.
I came to Adina Hospital in rapid AFib and felt my life was at risk. They put me on a blood thinner, then removed it because they “couldn’t hit another vein,” leaving me sitting for nearly a day and a half on a banana… bag for dehydrated. This was not just uncomfortable—it was dangerous. My prior experience here for diverticulitis resulted in renal failure due to a mistake with IV antibiotics, so I asked politely to be transferred to OSU for a cardiac specialist. The staff pretended to support the transfer but then delayed for another day and a half, repeatedly telling me they were “waiting on the other hospital.” When my wife came in advocating for me, they said, essentially, “Well, you’re husbands in AFib, and we don’t know if that constitutes an emergency.” Bottom line: the lack of urgency, incompetence, and mismanagement here is terrifying. If you have a serious medical issue, this hospital could very well KILL YOU. STAY AWAY
My spouse just got discharged from Adena Emergency room. She had 3 seizures within 4 hours before being taken there by ambulance. The only thing they did was draw blood. No CT Scan, no ultrasound, no xray, nothing. She… also had an open sore on her leg and they didn't put a bandage on it, or do any cultures. Adena's patient Care has seriously decreased. The only positive thing about Adena is the nurses are nice. They seem to care more than their doctors.
Absolute joke of a hospital. My mother has been here four times in the past two weeks for various issues, the most they have done is drug her up and dismiss her. She has had to schedule appointments with other… facilities for every single test, examination, everything. They do nothing. The fact that it's a teaching hospital scares me. A doctor there blames stress for my mother's condition and when asked for any way to lessen it with her current living and health situation, his suggestion was "win the lottery".
Hotel to have a stroke in and then dropped on your face.
No heat in patient rooms. Sick people trying not to freeze 🥶
Absolutely embarrassing to care providers. Will 100% turn you away if you dont pay before they run insurance (my mother and many others have ran into this string of hospitals denying care out right unless they pay out… of pocket prior to insurance being ran). They will claim its policy but its not if it was this would be an every visit thing at every branch. My mother went for labs and X-rays at adena Fayette and the receptionist very rudely demanded that she pay over $100 out of pocket FOR EACH while battling bronchitis on top of her existing health issues. The next day she went to another branch and the receptionist said that it was perfectly fine that she couldn't pay out of pocket up front. Absolutely shameful and greedy. Many people wouldn't have went elsewhere and would have suffered or even died because of this behavior. This place is cruising for a discrimination lawsuit and lawsuits of malpractice and medical negligence for this behavior. Because I know im not the only one who would go to court if my DISABLED MOTHER were to die because of their greed and lack of care for their patience. This is the same string of hospitals that ignored my great uncle's call button requests while he was a fall risk and needed to use the restroom, due to being ignored by the Adena medical staff my uncle tried to go to the bathroom on his own, fell, ruptured his gastrointestinal tract and passed from the rupture once adena wiped their greedy hands clean of him and sent him to OSU. This team constantly violates EMTALA. If you want proof, my mother is disabled with Ankylosing spondylitis AND HER DOCTOR TOLD HER IT WAS LIFE AND DEATH IF SHE DID NOT RECIEVE THE LABS AND X-RAY BY MONDAY!!! (we were seen the 9th of February and the doctor said it would be life and death if after a week she was not feeling any better but adena staff doesn't seem to care.) OH and the patient advocate when contacted was also incredibly rude and snarky about the situation and even claimed it was concerning the branch that took care of my mom didn't deny her medical care because she was unable to pay out of pocket.
