My daughter loves any she said that she laughed all day and made new friends and it was fun
I will be posting my experience soon and how I was treated. Stay Tune!!! Because what they not going to do is lie on me!!!!
I absolutely love y’all. I’m just gonna say this I’m 25 years old now and I just wanna say thank y’all for the amazing work and effort and everything that y’all did were helping me and so many others. God bless every… single body that worked there even though I gave y’all hell I still love y’all.
AYN is great for kids with trauma to get therapy and other mental health services. Staff always on point to do awesome activities with them. I love it‼️
My great nephew whom I have legal custody of was at AYN for 9 months. The staff were all nice and seemed very skilled. I felt like my child got alot out of the therapy they offered there. It was a structured environment… and taught him alot about basic living skills, proper hygiene, and social skills. When he was discharged I was extremely satisfied with his achievements. Although, after being back home for a few weeks I got a visit from DSS in Mecklenburg county saying they had an open case concerning my child. I was confused. They commenced to inform me it wasn't an incident with my child but it was another child that stayed in the same cottage. She said that because my child was also in that cottage that's why there was an open case on him, as well as all the other children that stayed in that cottage. I was never informed of this incident when he was residing there. But apparently one of the caretakers in that cottage got to rough with one of the children and ended up breaking his arm while trying to restrain him. My child said nothing like that ever happened to him but that he did witness rough handling of others. I would have pulled my child out had this been brought to my attention while he was residing there. DSS closed the case on my child but I do not know whatever became of the caretaker nor the child this actually happened to.
I was there in 1978 as john Hester I enjoy my stay at Alexander children center I miss some of the staff there back then I know it have growed up alot since I left there hope joe and sue remember me I talk to 1 person I… was there with nice to get up here to share this
Absolutely terrible a teacher named me john broke my arm and was not punished for it
Name's Jonathan. I am an individual that was involved with this organ when I was younger. I can't really remember much, outside of negative experiences. I used to reside in one if the cottages there, and then they would… shift me across the campus to another because me and fellow staff members couldn't get along. Finally, they decide to transfer me to one of the "group homes" up the street off campus grounds. You would turn right when exiting the property of the main building, and there would be another brown building on the right, which is where I resided as a minor. When I was there, me and other staff members got along. I remember a few of them. Peter Mondero,a Puerto Rican male that I got along with perfectly. He looked out for me the entire time and wanted me to succeed as a young one there. An African American man by the name of Me. Tyson was another one. Any time I had a problem, he would stay at the home with me and play pool with me and keep me occupied as long as I wasn't acting up. I also remember about African American man that didn't get along with me. It got to the point that me age (14 or 15) and him have gotten into a physical altercation, and he used my own limbs against me. Peter Mondero found out, and the man was fired the following day after being investigated. I loved this home as a child. I felt welcomed, and I enjoyed the company of other kids that made me feel like I was at home. I never had family growing up, until I landed here. I remember several kids names, and wish I could see how they're doing and how they've grown. Honestly... I miss being here even as an adult...
We love this place. They have helped out my son so much!! He has a lot of different issues and they work with him on everything. It is a neverending story but with patience and time we are making a way through the sea… of issues. Thank you!!!
I am a parent have a child who was at AYN. Not only did they not help him, they didn’t even make an attempt to help him. In fact he became significantly worse after their program, I could see the decline in all areas.… The staff are under qualified, and seem to have no idea what they’re doing. One of the staff members named Mr. Will would repeatedly show my child scary videos including laughing Jack, Chuckie, Chuckie cutting open. Now I’m dealing with constant night terrors. They provided him with a foster parent upon discharge who operated under the umbrella of AYN. At first I thought the foster mom was great but after my child left her care he would tell me all the time how she would put his life in danger on numerous occasions and once even told him to steal something from a store and put it in the trunk of her car for her. She apparently had a second job as a cook for a hotel chain and would wake him up every day at 3 AM take him to work with her and then he would continue to sleep until six in the conference room of the hotel like a dog on the floor. She would also instruct him that he’s not allowed to tell me or anyone else what she does or what happens in that house. She would repeatedly come into the bathroom while he was getting ready to take a shower and undressing, and she would stand there and look at him while he was naked. It’s pointless talking to AYN about it because they say she is their best foster parent and that’s that. My child also became obese during his five month stay with the foster parent. This is completely ridiculous, they should have their license taken away and this place shut down. They should not be allowed anywhere near the children.
Ashley Nieves should not work with anyone's child. 90% of the staff is only there for a check. They mistreat the child and when I reported it, I was told my services were no longer needed.
So far the worst experience ever. 4 counselors, later. contant missing schedule meeting where we drive 2 hours to get to and the staff dont show up. literary I am sitting in the rain after 2 hour deive and the building… is closed
It was a good learning experience. I learned a lot.
my gratitude cannot be expressed enough in words. due to ayn i have learned to let help help my son in ways that i could not. this has helped our relationship and allowed me to help myself. the prtf program is what it… is, and i need to accept that, and that is a good thing, if i allow myself to. I SINCERELY THANK ALL THE STAFF AT ALEXANDER YOUTH NETWORK, THEY HAVE GONE ABOVE AND BEYOND THEIR EXPECTATIONS AND I GREATLY DO APPRECIATE THIS AND I TRULY DO BELIEVE THAT MY SON DOES TO. THANK YOU ALL. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
