Communication is unheard of at this place they say they are there for support but feed you too the wolves when it comes too dealing with dss nothing goes smooth with them ever
I spent years in the Arbor House program and their sober living system doing everything that was asked of me — attending meetings, volunteering, staying compliant, and working toward the goals they set. Despite that, I… was ultimately removed from the program and lost the apartment I had been working toward. During my time there, I began raising concerns about issues I believed needed attention within the program. Those concerns were reported through the appropriate channels, including to the state and oversight agencies. After continuing to raise those issues, I was removed from the program. I waited months for the significant incident investigation to conclude before writing this review because I wanted to handle things the right way. My concern is not just about what happened to me personally, but about the broader way situations like this are handled. When I was removed, there was no meaningful transition planning or continuity of care, even though I was in the process of tapering off methadone — something staff were fully aware of. Being placed into an unstable situation during that time can be extremely dangerous for someone in recovery. I’m not saying the entire program is bad, and there are people there who do care. However, based on my experience, the program is not always operating with clients’ best interests at the center of decision-making. I invested years of my life trying to rebuild my future through this program. I’m sharing this experience so others can make informed decisions and so there can be greater accountability and transparency moving forward.
