Great facility- Everyone is friendly and respectful! The phones are always answered and updates are given to you throughout the day about your child. I can not speak highly enough about this facility. Keep up the good… work Carrus Care 🩷
Feeling incredibly grateful for Kai Fields. Her support is truly unwavering. She’s a passionate advocate for patients and an invaluable asset to our community. Just last week, when our facility needed specialized care… we couldn’t provide, she stepped in immediately without hesitation. Thank you, Kai, for your compassion, dedication to our patients, and for the continued support you give to all of us in healthcare.
Bro I love them so so much I went from severe depression to mild I love them bro it was fun and helped me so much
been here 4 times and this place is genuinely awesome although i havent been here since april of 2025
It mentally scarred my child, She was touched inappropriately and treated horribly one of the techs on site deliberately told my daughter that “this place is not to help but to keep you away” she was admitted for 10… days, after me a parent was informed that she would only be there for 3 to 5.
Amazing stay, the food was nice, the beds not so good, the pillows werent even pillows, you couldn't sleep, melatonin didn't work, the staff were okay had a bit of sass, fav staff Ben and some other guy with him always… i think.
This place has exceptional care. From beginning to the end everyone was friendly and helpful
This facility provides good care for adolescents
Carrus Behavioral has a heart for helping children and teens get the much needed mental help they need. Thanks for all you do!
Carrus Care Behavioral Hospital in Sherman is an excellent facility. I recently toured the hospital and observed children engaging in group crafts and sharing meals in a communal setting. The staff were welcoming and… actively present with the patients. The facility was clean, and I especially appreciated the bright colors and natural light from the windows, which create a more positive environment compared to other inpatient adolescent facilities in the North Texas area.
Staff is amazing and they actually care for u and the children. Amazing communication with parents and child is safe. Food is amazing
The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the nurses I have talked to have been nice. My son has not been given his routine medications for 3 days as of today. They say the doctor discontinued his ADHD medication… cold turkey (after being on it for YEARS) but even the nurses could not get a reason out of this doctor(the medical director) Dr. Perry I think. I was not told this when I spoke to this doctor. Speaking of speaking with the doctor, he did not call me! I had to call and ask for him to call me. When he did he was on his cell phone and couldn’t even remember my child or his plan of care. I am making a formal complaint with the DON tomorrow and possibly the medical board of Texas. After speaking with those in charge tomorrow I will edit this review with any star changes if warranted.
This place is busted up and smelly do not bring your kids their unless you want the to turn into a crazy person! the staff rude to the kids dragging little kids yelling and cursing the let you just claw claw claw at… your self and the don’t give you the proper stuff to wash your self , it was stinky cause of that and when your sick all they do is drug you and don’t even care you could be sick and they won’t care about you there was a very very great staff named niko he was very nice and sat down and had a conversation with us and prayed for us unlike the other staff rude and mean to the kids this place is very scary and traumatizing to kids don’t bring your kids here please and thank you
Place is absolutely horrible food is fine but the PTC’s rude and disrespectful to the kids. One PTC was talking about a very political topic to KIDS. One grown male PTC was arguing with a group of 12 year old girls for… staying in a group together and were talking. This place does not help with mental health if anything makes it worse. If your child genuinely is not okay please don’t take them here. All the kids just stay inside and watch tv 2 non black kids also said the hard r and had no repercussions. waste of money don’t go here genuinely a very traumatic experience.
My 12 year old daughter went here for mental health reasons. Obviously, the doctor is rude, very disrespectful, and unprofessional to me and my husband. He told us this place, meaning the mental hospital, was not a day… care. But the kicker is the staff do not watch your children lie on notes in the chart. My daughter was with them for seven days, clawed her own arm due to stress, and it took them 12 hours to cut her nails after I told them. I saw it during visitation. Then, they proceeded to give her a hickey on her neck, but in the note, it says that she was giving them yet. How did she give them if she has one on her? So they were just going around and giving each other hickeys, I suppose. I’m not really sure or understanding how or why the kids were left alone. It is a mental health hospital, and they know that these kids are struggling and obviously should not be left alone for any certain amount of time. This is my daughter’s second time coming here. The first time was smooth. The second time was terrible. I should have just gone to Frisco.
Do NOT go to this stinky place the only good techs where Ben and one other person. The food was ok but you can’t sleep at night and it did nothing for mental health.
okay so it was lowkey boring the doctor sometimes made me uncomfortable and ben was getting too close to me but ms rachel was the reason i was okay being there but the food was meh and the people there were nice
I was there for about a week and absolutely nothing got better. I felt like a doll the entire time and that I was just there to not be in the real world. It honestly felt like a prison, rather than a hospital. Most of… the time I was starving most of the day, and all night long I would cry because the beds were just play mats and a paper thin blanket. That wouldn’t have been that bad if the room wasn’t freezing cold, the door window was literally frosted over and the floor had condensation. So for about 5 nights I would lay down on the plastic bed shivering and starving. A lot of the staff was just rude, there were only a few people who weren’t just making the place depressing. I can’t remember ones name, but the other was Nathan aka Girlypop, he was the only one who made the whole group laugh and smile. There’s really nothing else to say, it wasn’t great and the entire place felt like a jail
Horrible place. Don’t actually help with issues. doctors talked to you maybe 3 minutes ago day. horrible food. horrible staff. do they even care about us?
My child had to receive care here from both the inpatient and the outpatient facility. I highly recommend if your child is in need of any mental health care. Every single nurse doctor and behavioral health tech went… above and beyond to make sure that my child received exceptional care while in their care.
The doctor is so rude here I hated seeing him he makes things worse because he just wants to call CPS on every patient I felt misunderstood and he said my parents don't care about me he should be fired I stayed here in… September 2024 and the doctor also likes to mess with medication dosages the food isn't that good I wanted to leave everyday patients so called private journals are read through by nosey nurses no privacy here very cold blankets are thin I never want to stay here ever again never the way to treat teenagers struggling with mental health
compared to other hospitals this place is great, its a mental hospital tho so i hated it NOTES -some staff were extremely rude, but only to kids who were violent (eric told some kid he deserved to go back to juvi, i… hate you eric) -pillows can be folded in half for more comfort!! -other patients were cool and just like me -food was way better than school food!! also if u dont like it, u can get a pb&j instead so yay! -some staff are so cool and treat you like their your friend, like T!! shes cool :3 -we watcg movies here, yay
Didn't help my issues, they let me out even after I was still depressed and harming myself (I made it clear I was because I was between wanting help and not wanting it) all they did was adjust my stay to a week and 3… days instead of just a week. Loved the group therapists though they were so sweet, don't remember their names but I went here back in October 2023.
I have been there 2 times and each time I was there I was more than loved there! They give a damn about the kids. This staff Ms. Melissa didn't have a bar on and I told a RN and she fixed it real fast! The RNs give a… more of a damn in my opinion. I always had nicknames for them! one day I asked for a flower and a leaf from a RN and she got me one the next day! I am RN at an RTC and honestly I wouldn't go back there! - Summer Collins BESTIE IS THE BEST (MAGGIE )
I would recommend this hospital to anyone in need. Intake was fast. I got a call every day with an update on my child's progress. Every time she called, there was a bright and happy voice. My daughter had no complaints… about the staff. She was able to do activities that she liked. She did complain about the food and the bed being too hard, Not a big deal to me, it's a hospital, not a resort. I was able to make an appointment to pick her up and not just to come and sit till they were ready. The staff are great advocates for a child's well-being and are willing to help with resources for aftercare. The facility is clean and smells good.
The staff don't watch yo kids my boyfriend ended up cheating on me over there was was kissing on eachother 👍🏽
