About Centro de Respostas Integradas do Oeste
Centro de Respostas Integradas do Oeste is the public outpatient addiction service of ICAD, I.P. for eleven municipalities of the Oeste region, with its head office and Caldas da Rainha treatment team on Rua dos Silos. Alcohol, heroin, cocaine and behavioural addictions such as gambling are treated free through the SNS, with psychiatric consultations available via a hospital partnership.
Coordinator Carla Abrantes leads a service whose catchment spans Cadaval, Lourinhã, Mafra, Sobral de Monte Agraço, Torres Vedras, Alcobaça, Bombarral, Caldas da Rainha, Óbidos, Nazaré and Peniche, across the Leiria and Lisboa districts. The Caldas polo, staffed by twelve professionals, follows individuals from Caldas da Rainha, Alcobaça, Bombarral, Óbidos and Nazaré, the last through a two-person decentralised consultation in Nazaré; further polos sit in Peniche and Torres Vedras. In June 2025 the Caldas team moved into refurbished former public-health premises, and addiction care has been provided in the town for twenty years. Anyone can phone to ask for an appointment; treatment is outpatient only.

Centro de Respostas Integradas do Oeste Alcohol and Drug Services
Centro de Respostas Integradas do Oeste provides outpatient consultations and community intervention for dependence on alcohol and illicit drugs such as heroin and cocaine, plus behavioural addictions including gambling and problematic internet use. A partnership with the Psychiatry and Mental Health Department of ULS do Oeste gives patients access to psychiatric consultations, and a prevention team works alongside.
The Caldas da Rainha polo handles outpatient consultation and community work for its five municipalities, with a decentralised consultation in Nazaré offering consultations only. Youth consultations for the Oeste are integrated into adult care at the Torres Vedras and Peniche polos rather than at Caldas, under prevention lead Hélder Mota. A complementary support space operates at the former parish council building in Coto. Specific therapies and medications are not itemised publicly, and services are in Portuguese.
