Childrens Home Counseling Services – Boise

Utterly dumbfound at how they have clients. I was rescheduled twice then then no one showed up in the zoom link. When I called the front desk and the provider Dr. Gallant said they didn't know why the link wasn't… working but there was no way to salvage the rest of the hour-long appointment. I was turned away in the end.

I have taken my children twice here based on clear facts I have from what my children have said and also what multiple witnesses have said not only in court but as well as outside of court. The first time I brought them… here, their "interview" was not even 5 minutes BTW. The second time, they said there was signs of sa from their interview and did not do anything. This is now the third time my children have gone as a court order and this place is withholding the report from the evaluation which is evidence in my court case and considered contempt of court. Don't ever go here on your own terms. If the court orders it, ask the judge to order it somewhere completely different. The courts dont even do anything with clear evidence and let the party thats doing the abuse take them. 0 out of 5 stars if I could. The judicial system and this place are corrupt. Please listen to me. Do not take your kids here.

My son went here and in his current cps case he let them know that he tried to tell the therapist here that his mom was abusive neglectful and more but they shut him down and only wanted to hear negative things about… me. He is adamant that he never wants to use therapy again since these is not a place of trusted adults. I would recommend getting a different location for your child. Even their responses on the review section seem tone deaf but they want to help children. He also said that when he tried to bring up God and Jesus the therapist said it was a myth. I would never recommend this location. Often times it gets pushed in custody and court orders. Ask your lawyer to fight for your children’s mental health and request a different location with better success. Shame on this location and whatever tone deaf response they give to this review.

My son went here and the therapist promoted being gay and a furry. She also said that Jesus wasn’t real and a myth. This is what my son said. But he won’t ever go back even if I tried to force him. He also tried to tell… the therapist things that his mom was doing but the therapist only pushed for it to be negative conversations about his dad. I want him to go to therapy but this place scared him.

Really wonderful experience here especially with Matthew who my son got to work with. Very accommodating and for such a busy place, so warm and helpful. My son overcame some phobias keeping him from attending school… everyday. I highly recommend this place and if you get a chance to work with Matthew who is very genuine and highly experienced, I'd consider you to be lucky!

Kind of a strange place set in a very old building that looks rather spooky to me. I guess they do alright there helping young children that are in need of professional help. I did not go in there because of privacy… laws here in Boise. I review reports from people that used there services and it was not very good. There are newer places here that I am quite sure does a better service.

Their testing is a joke. Told me it could take about 3 hours. That's par. I get there and the guy talks to me for about an hour. Asks my daughter if she likes to collect things. That's the only question he asked her.… The whole time. He just talked to me. No behavioral or IQ or anything. Just asked ME questions for an hour and had a diagnosis. There is a reason they don't have a wait-list! Unacceptable. My child needs help, first we need to know what she could have to better help. Don't find help here.

Been going here off and on since my son was four,we absolutely love all the staff and the counselors too.Very welcoming and helpful. Would never go to another counseling center,very happy with the services they offer

Great counselors for kids

I took my son here for a year. His counselor did amazing with him and I'm happy with all our sessions.

The counselor was great with our child, however the billing department is horrible. They are not on top of things and can never give you a straight answer. You won't be able to know what the true cost is until months… later after you leave and they will try to rob you of things you already paid for.

In 2008/ 2009 I went here. My counselor would lock the door and raise her voice to try to get me to relive my sa. I lost most of my childhood memories due to her (i could remember the sa before i came here and my other… memories). It got to the point I could push her out of the way, unlock the door and open it all within 30 seconds. My whole family got banned from here because of it.

This is ridiculous... both my girls always had technical issues and not always were allowed into their meetings. Sometimes taking 15-20 and be cause of that it is considered a no show. Furious that it's ok if they're… late, God forbid technical issues because you will be "Fired as a patient".

We had a wonderful experience getting my daughter diagnosed with Rusty. Great office staff and we are pleased with how things went. Would recommend for autism diagnosis.

Great asset to the Boise community!

I saw Rusty for an adult evaluation as there are few in the area, he was unprofessional, dismissive, and patronizing. All questions were framed in a male centric way using underage patients as examples (I'm a grown… woman). He also was disrespectful and invalidated another clinic's diagnosis that had nothing to do with our appointment. My test was supposed to be three hours it was one hour, I do not recommend going to this clinic as an adult for an assessment.

My daughter has been with miss Alaina for a year now and I see so much improvement in her attitude and emotions. Most wonderful counseling and flexible counselors.

BE WARNED! I was referred by our St Al. Dr & Warm Springs made an appt with a counselor that wasn't covered. I even gave them my insurance info BEFORE the appt and asked how much I owed & they still didn't tell me it… wasn't covered or warn me!! They are really CARELESS! I had called my insurance ahead, and they told me copays were $20 for in-plan visits... When I got the BIG bill in the mail, I called Warm Springs. No one could help that week. They said they'd call back, but nothing. I wrote them a letter explaining three weeks ago. No reply. I called again today and the lady was SO RUDE and told me it's all on me?! HOW??? This is their mistake! Ridiculous. Except for the "copay", I'm not paying. They should own up to their mistake and be more careful. If they work with me and fix it, BBB complaint is coming next.
