This place was horrible. imagine being in a place like that for 6 months with people rubbing their waste on the walls in the public bathroom while people tried to off themselves and started riots with people constantly… getting booty juice and getting arrested. I was there from November 11th 2023 to May 5th 2024. I was going back to my room and looked across the hallway and saw someone trying to hurt themselves with a tape roller. I came out with more scars then I went in with. I was 12 years old and watching people try to commit suicide at least 5 times a month. People would always try to fight each other and the staff did horrible jobs containing it. The staff mostly didn’t care for anyone during that time. I am now 15 and I am still shocked how this place is still open. For the longest time it was only girls staying there but then boys came back and threatened the girls that they were going to r*pe us and touch us inappropriately. Please, for your child’s sake… don’t send them here.

Excellent facility, excellent staff and the best treatment available for mental illness for youth. Saved my daughter’s life and would highly recommend!!

I went there two years ago i was on unit 300 one of the kids went to go on a pass when the rest of us were doing something else the went back to the unit and STOLE my dinosaur stuffed animal and no one did anything… about it i also got more trauma leaving then i did before going there this place is not helpful one of the workers would also make flirty comments to some girls his name is bill michael was also a very bad employee talked very badly to us females and our bodily health as he was talking about if he knew what cramps and bleeding does asked for a tampon he told me no i wasn’t on any risks so i asked why he said because i got one 3 hours prior

My daughter did the columbus iop program. It was very beneficial an we are very happy with how much it has helped her an the overall experience was great! Connie is amazing an really puts her heart into helping the kids… an their families we appreciate her so much! Lisa the receptionist is also so wonderful!

Aside from nurses literally accusing me of faking my UTI when I was pissing blood. This place actually is OK. Most of the time I spent shaking on the floor in pain while Cameron the milliue manager Argued with literal… medical professionals that programming was more important than my UTI. I was in pain all the time begging my staff to let me lay down, but they couldn’t go against him. I watched nurses accuse me of faking for several months before they started believing me about my UTIs and no, it isn’t all of them, but the people who are doing that are my main focus because it’s wrong I came here to get help and I did get help, Amy was an awesome therapist Keira was an amazing patient advocate The people who helped me with my dietary needs due to me having a eating disorder, are one of the reasons that I still believe in Looking at the positives. But Cameron, the millue manager needs more help than even CBC can give him. He is absolutely invalidating and should not work in a place like this. I watched nurses refused to let me lay down refuse to let people who are passing out 24/7 lay down. It is just absolutely medical neglect that I experienced from a few nurses and some staff here. But I do want to thank you guys because you guys are the reason I’m still here today I find it really sad that you have to suffer for several months before they actually start validating you

My child has made so much progress her at CBH IOP. This has changed are lives. The therapist is great and caring. They explain everything to my child so that she understands better. The insurance is making us stop the… therapy. We are so sad.

I’m now 17 about to turn 18 and they helped me so much no matter what the struggles where in the hospital my… therapist elizebeth had me the whole time. Thank you for the staff who know me..❤️you have changed a girls life for the good..

Staff was very friendly and always willing to work with us through out the treatment. Was always willing to go above and beyond for my child to get extentions to stay in the program. Could see a improvement from the… program with my kid from the beginning to end of program where she graduated.

Columbus Behavioral Center IOP has been a saving grace that I didn't realize my child needed. They have given support and guidance for my daughter and I am forever greatful for them. Connie is a saint and an amazing… person.

Honestly it’s sick that this place says they help people I know two different people personally that have came out of that building more traumatized then helped and they specifically say they help with PTSD didn’t know… you needed to cause more PTSD to take the old PTSD AWAY THIS PLACE IS A LITERAL JOKE AND WITH CHRISTMAS JUST BEING OVER I can’t imagine how many children had to stay away from their families because when my friends were in there, they never came home for a pass once, but everybody else was

Had to drive a person from Hammond Indiana to this location, Absolutely ridiculous, 4 hour drive one way , Should have a Closer location !, in nw Indiana area , won't have to mess up the entire day driving way to… Columbus Indiana. And back to Hammond Indiana

My dad saved my life when I was a teen but he didn’t do it alone. Thank you for all the care every staff members gave while I was there. Every late night talk, every compassionate hand, every boundary set pushing me… towards my best self. I’m sure working with us hellions wasn’t easy but you all made it look like a dream job. Thank you for showing up for us everyday!❤️ P.s K something if you see this I legit still have the hoodie you gave me. I miss our bond so much thanks for always being a friend❤️ I hope you are doing the most amazing out there🥰

y’all don’t go here. it’s so baddddd they have bed bugs, staff are rude, they tell you to shut up, come into their their jobs in crappy moods and they do nothing when you fill out grievance forms. the have a bad issue… of people stealing your stuff and they do nothing.. please, if you love your children enough do not send them here.

Sad that adults know these children are struggling and still verbally abuse and neglect them pls do outpatient or god forbid anywhere but here

GAVE MY KID PTSD

I was a resident at Columbus for 5 1/2 months and I'm gonna be completely Honest, this place is a wreck. I loved some of the staff but there are so many fights and riots it's crazy. They tell you to focus on your… treatment, but don't so their job when other peers are getting in the way. SHOUTOUTS TO STAFF THAT I LOVE: CHAZ,SAVANNAH,BRANDI,BEN,DURRELL,JEREMY,PEGGY,BAYLEE,BRITTANY,JACKIE AND HER TWIN. I'm sure there's more but If you go to this place, learn that these will be your safe people. Stay away from drama in this place. IT WILL GET YOU JUMPED. shoutout again to all of my fav staff. If you guys are seeing this, thank you sm for everything you do. Good luck to anyone who goes here.

I went here when I was 12. It was my first ever residential stay. It was hell. I’m giving 2 stars because some therapists there and staff genuinely cared and helped, however that wasn’t always the case. One time I was… so sick I was committing every couple minutes, and had it coming out the other end. I was still forced to leave the unit with everyone else and when I threw up I had to clean it up almost every time because the staff “wouldn’t be touching that”. They also didn’t provide adequate nutrition if you had a restriction like comepletely lactose intolerance or were a vegetarian. I saw a girl get a pizza which was literally sauce and bread and nothing else (because they couldn’t staff their kitchens properly so every other Friday we got the worst tasting pizza I’ve had to this day) and another girl on my unit whom was a vegan, had about 1/3 of her meals supplemented for like a 300 calorie snack pack of humus and pretzels. All that said, Thats mostly mismanagement from higher up. There were some bad staff, but there are some staff whom I still remember to this day whom I still smile when I think about. Who became like second parents and who made me want to recover. Overall though, there was a feeling that the place was falling apart and even the staff could feel it. Like I said, it’s been years since I was here, but I figured I should still share my experience

DO NOT SEND YOUR KID HERE.. tech named Clayton told my child that extremely bad behaviors will get them kicked out and that is exactly what they did! I do not recommend this place at all. Her therapist Caylen was the… only good thing possibly the best thing about this place. Not to mention they cancel meetings or just dont bother to call the parents during said meetings with childs medical Team. Clayton should definitely not be working places like this because he even told my child about state hospitals and procedures!!!

If you want your kid to come out with worse problems and trauma send them here

Hello, my name is Chloe Grover I discharged from Columbus behavioral center 1 month ago and it changed my entire life for the better. I had Caitlyn as a therapist and let me just say she is truly phenomenal at her work… and what she does she kicks ass everyday to make sure her kids have what they need. Kiera the aftercare case manager is just as amazing she truly loves and cares for older youth in this program when she did IL she made it fun and engaging. Karebear was an amazing lead tech on 400 unit she changed the way I view people today she showed me to let people in and give them a chance. Von is a another very hardworking lead tech on 400 unit she showed me how to not care what others thought about me and to be myself through and through. Cameron was an amazing lead tech on 300 unit he always made your day exciting but stuck to the rules as he should and he was always there when you needed a good cry or a good conversation. The staff there deserve the world and if I could give it to them I would. Thank you everyone. If your kid needs help check this place out their DBT program is truly phenomenal it has helped me through some really touch things since discharge.

My 16 year old daughter went there and day 1 she hated me by time to leave at day 90 she cried because she was gonna miss the staff. Thank you CBC for helping my daughter grow so much in 90 days!

I was a patient there for 6 months in 2018 and the therapist I had, Amy, Crossed many boundaries and became friends with my mom while I was a patient. Patient confidentiality was thrown out the window and there was a… conflict of interest. I never felt safe enough to be fully opening therapy as it was all being reported back to my mother and Amy would always take her side.

I was in CBC for 4 months. I was there from February 6 to June 5. It was awful there were many many riots and our safety including the staff was not there. I remember sitting there listening while kids were going crazy… and police were everywhere Me and my unit 400 were locked outside for 2 hours with one staff bc it was so unsafe. Our entire days would depend on who was in a bad mood that day. Kids would get in the ceiling and destroy the whole place making it a dangerous environment on the walkie-talkie a staff member yelled help they're hurting me help their attacking me and that gave me PTSD and I don't think I'll ever forget that I don't think over forget how much that impacted me now let's talk about their therapy their family therapy was awful I was in a very bad home and my therapist saw that and yet they decide to do nothing the therapists just wanted to push you out the door didn't even want to help. I remember sitting in my room for hours crying and the only people there for me or some of the staff. I do not recommend going there it was an awful experience I would recommend it.

This place really helped me in journey to better myself i was diagnosed with a lot of things including complex PTSD but if it wasn’t for the greatest therapist Jana I would not be the person I am today I was there 4… months I would say like 3 staff there actually helped me Shauna ,Brittany , Durrell were some of the best people there i hope they stay safe in there I miss you guys so much

OK For context, I was in Cbc from December 12Th 2022 till May 11th 2023 during my stay at Cbc there were a lot of ups and downs. People had their good days in their bad days. I did see a lot of fighting yelling people… cussing each other out, etc. but I did also get to see the good side I was put on a DBT unit 200 my second day there I was one of the fortunate people who got to stay on 200 my entire stay Cbc does habits downfalls people have their good days and their bad days. People cussing each other out and yelling can be overstimulating but from my time there, I also saw people working together to help bring people out of panic attacks, support one another, vent to one another I was in there for depression and suicidal ideation I had went to 10 Impatient before I’ve been out of Cbc for almost 2 years now and I am very proud to say I haven’t gone back to an impatient stay Some of the wonderful people I got to work with that I would like to give shout out to are the following Patti,Amy, Julie, Brooklyn, Luis Karen also lovingly known as care bear and Shawna And Paula They were all the biggest part of my journey. Amy was my therapist. Patty was the main woman who worked on 200 unit. She was like a mother/grandmother to me Luis, who rarely worked on 200 taught me how to laugh while being depressed I’d like to thank everyone at Cbc and the friends I made in the time I was there even though I shouldn’t have you take your kid here. Please know that they will have bad days, but in the end cbc definitely showed me the light at the end of the tunnel or at least how to find it when I’m stuck in the darkness
