Horrible. That's all I gotta say. Dead homies this the worse place to send a kid. Almost half the staff I knew literally quit bc of administration. But see for yourself.

You are treated like a prisoner here. They make kids strip naked and inspect them, then have them squat over the toilet and cough. NEVER, in any other hospital I have been to, was I forced to do that. Then they make you… sleep in the hallway on a thin mattress and since I had bandages on my arms, they made me keep my arms out of my covers so that I was freezing cold. If you refuse to strip your clothes, say you have PTSD and don’t immediately feel comfortable, they will crowd around you in the bathroom and CUT your clothes off of you while you’re hyperventilating. In the most demeaning way ever. I was going through severe psychosis to the point I had to be restrained daily and multiple times a day. The first time I was restrained, two guys grabbed me by the arms and threw me on the ground, I heard my bone crack and I was in pain for days afterwards. One of the guys was very rude, saying, “you already know how I get down” which is something you would say to someone threatening, NOT a mentally ill teenager who you can CLEARLY overpower. The therapists and psychiatrists make no effort to help you. Despite this, some of the staff are very nice and I made friends there. But I would never recommend this place to anyone due to how isolated and mistreated the patients are. They will make fun of you if you’re having panic/anxiety attacks and will look down on you.

Closest building I could find after class, had to use the restroom really bad like im doing the dance and running....i asked the security guard if i could use the bathroom and I couldnt make it to another bathroom....he… said its state regulated and couldnt let me in but he could clearly see I really had to go, I soiled myself running across the street to the Student Union building. My only question is if i was Nevada's mayor daughter would you still have denied me? And if not, shouldnt everyone have the human decency to allow any human in an emergency to use the bathroom? The guard could've walked me to the bathroom waited outside, held my things i didnt care i just needed to use the bathroom. So i can imagine the favoritism held inside.

I was here for about 8 months in 2013. All of these negative reviews are spot on accurate. The mental hospital was more traumatizing than the event that led up to me being hospitalized to begin with. This place made me… afraid to seek help for a very long time. They slap diagnoses and prescriptions onto children and then do not provide them with the proper resources and care for aforementioned diagnosed issues. They actually actively punish the children for being mentally ill via a point based leveling system. Aside from the leveling system, they punish children with shunning/isolation, not letting them go outside, forced administration of sedatives without parental knowledge or consent, among MANY other inhumane things. At one point I had an X-ray done where I was told I HAD to strip down to a hospital gown and my underwear and then there was no record of me ever getting an X-ray done let alone the results. A technician even got fired during my stay there for “having sex” with one of the minor patients. The education was pathetic, they didn’t even try. They have children from pretty much all ages together in one classroom, making it impossible to actually learn or teach anything. I was 13 during my stay, and I tested if they were even so much as paying attention to the kids during “school” by picking up a physics text book when I did not even know algebra 1 yet. The first 4 or 5 months that I was here, I did not get to breathe fresh air or feel sunlight on my skin. Even as I am writing this I tear up thinking back on being in this prison. If you are a parent that loves your child and wants best for them, I promise you this place is not the answer.

Y’all please don’t come here. You’ll get nothing good but talked down to, called names, and the therepy doesn’t even help. As someone said in their review, it’s like JAIL. Fights, arguments, irritation, is all you will… GET. praying for anyone who comes here……seriously. (They like to call you attention seeking for displaying your emotions)

My name is Rhiannon. I went here almost 2 years ago, and I LOVED the experience. My favorite staff was Mr. David. The ones who say it was a horrible experience, they MADE it a horrible experience for THEMSELVES

Whatever you do, do NOT send your child here. There are other options. I came here when I was 12, and this place absolutely traumatized me, I believe that this place ruined me as a person for a very long time. I came… put with so many more problems than I had before I came. There is no real treatment or being listened to, it is torture for everyone there. This is state owned, so of course it will never be shut down, and they can keep you as long as they want, up to 2 YEARS. Everybody I still talk to from being here has gotten tremendously worse since being here.

This place is absolutely horrible they don’t have compassion for the minors they are treating. They’re unorganized and never on the same page. Then the staff told my family member something that could trigger him. Why… would they do that knowing how he may react. Makes no sense when they’re supposed to be helping.

My stay here was absolutely horrible. The only positive things about it were the patients and Ms. Erika, Ms. Esther, and Mr. Dee. It felt like I was serving prison time and I got no help. I was lucky enough to be pulled… out before things got really bad for me.

the staff here does not know how to handle minors. they’re surprised when fights break out but when kids are trying to bring to their attention that someone is bothering them they let it slide by. in addition the staff… is rude and should remember that they are working with kids who need help before they go on with heir smug comments. do better please or don’t be there at all, you’re making it worse.

If you're child needs help they will not get anything here but lice, bed/bug bites, restrained, treated like an inmate, doped up- shots, Acute or rtc. Dr won't spend a minute discussing meds. It's there way or no way… with Dr. God`s treatment teams are 5 min or less & pointless. If costs involved - Dr Wade - I have never heard of her speaking the truth.. And they discharged baseline meaning unstable. Without any change in meds or of any treatment but TV. There is no psych /or therapy sessions - maybe 1x who or not & they will learn how to commit suicide, cannot rest if I'll, learn violence & inappropriatness as they are sat in front of TV all day. No activities. Also you will not be allowed any copies of records or incidents. School there is pathetic joke better to opt out. Rude staff with exception of just a few. Staff does not intervene with any patient to patient disputes. Stay doesn't interact at all. Keep sanitized. Although spring mt or montavista isn't any different. Prepare to buy new close as well as they will not reimburse for missing clothes.

This place is by far the worst place ever! The people on the phone denied my right to speak to my nephew without even knowing whom I was calling for. They proceeded to say he was with the doctor and didn’t even know who… I was calling for. Then they hung up on me.

NEVER send someone here. I was lucky enough to be there for only 3 days. My first night there I was stuck in the hallway sleeping with just sheets, then I woke up to a cold meal and had to take a shower while being… monitored by staff, the toothpaste was fake, the water was pure cloudy, the staff had issues of communication and I was barely able to get a real answer and I was lied to about my visitation, and I was almost attacked one morning by another patient they could not control and it took FOUR STAFF MEMBERS, to hold her down and all they decided to do was let her scream in the hallway for 20 minutes and tell the rest of the patients to just eat! I will absolutely NEVER EVER go there if I have any issues.

They are treating my brother like a DOG. They treat you like you're a animal for being upset and suicidal. They broke so many laws. We don't know whats going on behind closed doors. it's ran by a bunch of nutt cases.… These workers are a joke. It's a state funded hospital and they just want your money. The longer you stay, the more money they get. They act like you do a lot of school there but they don't. Like 1-2 hours a day then they go and sit and look at walls and tables ALL day long. They did X-rays without even running it across my mom. My brother is a minor still and it is against the law to do things behind my moms back. This place is HORRIBLE. Once your in there, it's kind of like you're stuck in there. This place makes you more depressed and would make you want to kill your self more. Please DO NOT put your family member or child in here.
