Good News Home Inc – Flemington carries a listing for residential treatment. Which of these is appropriate depends on an assessment, not on what sounds manageable at the time.

Going to preface this by saying I went here for under 2wksk over a decade ago and left…but stayed sober and I’ve been clean for 10 years but not giving this place any credit for that because I was much better off with… freedom at an outpatient program. You will have more freedom in jail than here. This place is too restrictive and has culty vibes. There are better programs you can go to. Most addicts are also smokers so my opinion personally is going to a place like this that doesn’t allow smoking, is counter productive to someone who’s an addict, as quitting everything at once is overwhelming. at first I thought they weren’t doing it to be overly controlling and maybe simply for some “safety reason” like lack of fire insurance or something, but that has nothing to do with it. Because even when you get permission to leave the property to go somewhere like a visiting pass you can’t smoke. They will actually DRUG test you for nicotine when you come back and count it as a failed drug test and if you’re on any type of probation they will report it to them as a failed drug test with zero context all because you smoked a cigarette. Staff also doesn’t allow you to have your legal prescribed medications, basically takes away any little glimmer of joy you have to look forward to. Strong toxic culture here of clients who are pitted against each other by staff and encouraged to gossip about each other to the staff. You’ll be in your room sharing your feelings to a roommate about something and all of a sudden in your next “check in” session your counselor assigned to you will somehow know what you said and bring it up. So I think they have hidden cameras in the bedrooms or something. Overall not a great place. in conclusion…Very much handmaids tale vibes, very centered on Christian values. And not very inclusive mindset. Just very unsettling. Glad I left and had more success outside of this place with an IOP.
I must start the review with giving honor to God, for God ordered my steps here to Good News Home for Woman, here I found a reconnect with God. In the program you find out a lot about yourself and the traumas that… caused you to make some horrible choices. You also find out ways to deal with real life issues. The entire staff has helped me to save my life I will forever be grateful to all involved. I truly believe in the sister hood I don't know if I can give a special thanks to anyone So once again thank you so very much Good News Home for Women I will find a way to pay it forward
good news home, has changed my life they have helped me gain a relationship back with my god, and my family i will forever be greatful and would recommend this place to anyone that may be seeking help to a better way to… live life one day at a time and putting God first in all that you do.
I'm really tired of this place getting good reviews when in reality they treat their own patients horribly. They'll stop you from calling your family on the phone just because you make a complaint about the ignorant… workers. One employee was absolutely high on drugs from the patients and blamed her problems on them. This place needs real help with actual workers.
Safe haven with staff who truly are the finger prints of God. Recovery is not for those who need it but for those who want it. There’s something magical about that place if you want to be well and made whole again. You… will not leave the same way you came in.
I had thew privilege of attending a fundraiser for this organization, and it was wonderful. What this organization is doing for women is nothing short of extraordinary!
When I came to Good News Home I was lost and hopeless. Not only did they help restore my relationship with God but they helped me beyond treatment. So grateful for for this place!! My life has been changed Nov.4 I… celebrate 4 years!!!
My God where do I start. Going here was not easy but I decide to trust the process. Good News Home help save my life and restored my relationship with family and friends. I have fought addiction for a long time but I… have never received the counseling that I received here. Finally I can walk without the guilt and shame of my past. They loved and care for each of us even though we didn't love ourselves. My mental, spiritual and physical has been restored. If you truly willing to do what it take to become whole again go to Good News Home.
The good news home saved my life. I was broken when I came here now I’m finally healing.I’ve learned so much since I came here. The staff really cares they taught me and showed me what love is.
My experience at Good News Home is a place you can come and get restorations. Where you find love. The staff love you until you’re able to love yourself.
Don't go here. I found this rehab when I was coming out of detox. I was afraid of going into a traditional rehab setting, I have anxiety associated with hospital-type places. It seemed too good to be true - it is. Will… they give you a place to sleep and a hot meal? Sure. Maybe a few new outfits if you don't have any. Will they teach you that routine and discipline are valuable to recovery? Sure. They also think it's acceptable to use vulnerable women's children as tools to make them behave. If you don't want to go to therapy with your abuser (as anyone who has been to any sort of reputable therapy knows is wrong) - you lose your ability to have your children come visit you. The end - you can't argue. I attempted to escalate this issue through the proper channels all the way to "Doc B", the director, herself, and was told "If you're an addict and got yourself stabbed, your daughter is probably better off not seeing you anyway". You get one weekly call to an approved person which must be on speakerphone. They take notes during the call, and when you put one toe over the line, that phone call is the first thing to go. You can't talk about staff members etc on the call. They think it's acceptable to tell an anxious DV victim with breast cancer, who just wants to know who is driving her to her doctor's appointment, that she "needs to feel this anxiety and experience the loss of control. That's what you need, this is good for you. You can wait and find out when you get in the car." (The appointment was over six hours later and she was having a panic attack. We weren't allowed to offer her any comfort in the meantime) They force you to sign up for state benefits, but yet won't allow you to read your award letters (or really any of your mail). They use that money to fund themselves, your food stamps pay for the groceries, etc. Staff members/monitors who try to stick up for clients are silenced or fired. Ever seen the Handmaid's Tale??? There are so many other options and better places to go. Even if you don't have insurance. Avoid at all costs. ETA - Because there is no actual medical doctor on staff, certain medications are just banned (no, I don't mean narcotics, obviously). And getting your prescriptions that are not banned is next to impossible, be ready to wait months.
I am a 58 year old female who struggled with alcohol addiction for 35 years. It was not until I reached Good News Home Inc were I received the love and understanding of what ADDICTION is. On 5/6/2023 I will have the… privilege of celebrating one year of sobriety. HALLELUJAH! IF ANYNE HAS THE HEARTS DESIRE ALONG WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF GOOD NEWS HOME INC. YOU CAN OVERCOME ADDICTION.
This place takes government funding and claims to cater to all faiths That is a lie Everything is a lie. The executive director told me earplugs are forbidden because I left when I could not get any sleep. You pay… people to search our rooms, watch us go to the bathroom, etc., but she claims I was denied earplugs because “if there was a fire…”?
This Wonderful Home saved my life ! God Is the Keeper of this House!!
They are abusive. Don't go here
