GenPsych Bridgewater – Bridgewater Detox and Rehab Services
The provision listed at GenPsych Bridgewater – Bridgewater is partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.
Mental health and substance use are handled together rather than in sequence. Ask what a typical week involves before committing, since the schedule determines whether the program is workable alongside work or family.

GenPsych Bridgewater – Bridgewater Address, Location and Contact Information
GenPsych Bridgewater – Bridgewater is located at 380 Foothill Road in Bridgewater, New Jersey, 8807. This address falls in Somerset County. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.
It is worth calling first to confirm access, parking and the shape of a first visit. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. Where no one answers, leaving a message and calling again later usually works better than giving up.

GenPsych was a blessing for our family! Carla Williams conducted a thorough evaluation for our child and gave appropriate treatment recommendations. Brandon Hickey was the assigned therapist and was a phenomenal. He was… kind, empathetic, and professional across all of our interactions. My child always looked forward to attending therapy sessions at GenPsych. If you are looking for a professional and ethical mental health practice for your child, take a look at GenPsych. Our child has gained invaluable skills throughout the program and as parents we always felt supported.
Brandon Hickey was great. Our son got a lot out of this program.
GenPsych is absolutely amazing!!! Mercedes is always there!! Meg is so amazing with the kids. Thank you so much for everything. My child has come a long way!!
Those who care about you are held back by poor management and backwards policies. Went twice, second time was an absolute mess
My son attended program at Bridgewater Gen Psych for 8 weeks. Brandon was his therapist. Brandon regularly checked in and updated me about my son’s progress and my son felt comfortable with him. Carla was great as my… son’s med prescriber. My son successfully discharged and he is calmer and more grounded. I would recommend greater ease and transparency around obtaining the initial assessment and criteria requiring admission.
My brother had an excellent experience with Brandon Hickey as his therapist at GenPsych. Brandon was compassionate, supportive, and created a comfortable, nonjudgmental environment where my brother felt heard throughout… his journey. His professionalism and genuine care made a meaningful difference in my brother's progress. I highly recommend Brandon to anyone looking for a therapist who truly invests in their clients' well-being.
The people that have made my visit while i was here in genpsych was definitely and ABSOLUTELY Megan March, Mercedes, and Hannah. They all are amazing people and I wish I could say more people but I'm in the car. I… discharged today and I am so proud of myself. I shouldn't be the only one who is proud genpsych too should feel good about themselves. Stay weird and feel your feelings. Emily So Swag OUT!!!
Skylar and Erin are the best therapists ever and you should definitely come here the program is absolutely amazing I wouldnt trade it for anything
GenPsych does a very nice job with its patience. Brandon Hickey is an excellent therapist. Carla Williams is very good regarding med management and pushing patients to do more. All of the therapists who ran groups were… engaging, knowledgable and supportive.
I would give this place 0 stars if i could. I left a little while ago and this was the worst place i've ever gotten help at. Knowing myself i knew that i did not need to come here and coming there made my life so much… worse. i was isolated from my friends and my family affecting my relationships with them drastically. I am 16 years old and i know what’s best for me and this place wasn’t best for me. I chose this place thinking it would be a safe place for me instead it would be a place i would dread to go to. My therapist would yell at me call me a spoiled brat and say im entitled because i wanted to leave, i was accused of being called a liar because my mental health was getting better. This is not a place for ur kids to get a better mental health it’s a place for your kids to feel like they are crazy. I did learn some valuable skills and i still use them today so maybe it wasn’t all bad. But i believe that my mental health got so much better when i was finally free. Now i am back with my original therapist and couldn’t be happier. i may be young but i stand by this opinion and so do many, and i mean many other kids in this program. So many kids felt scared to speak out or even try to due to the fact no one would believe them, when the only person who knows best for you, Is YOURSELF. I am sorry for coming on here and leaving a bad review but this program in this specific location, need to fix the way they do things. I hope that other Genpsychs were nothing like this and didnt treat the kids like robots or prisoners. A child shouldn’t dread going to a program that is supposed to help them. Instead of making the kids there feel welcome and help them feel like this facility was a safe space it made them feel crazier. I was never really able to understand why i had to be followed just to use the restroom. I encourage people to get help when they really need it and my friend did at another IOP program, due to the fact this one was horrible. I would always think to myself that it will never get better but it does. Sadness is temporary and don’t let someone tell you how you need to feel. I don’t know what the Adult program is like but I do not recommend the adolescent program for your kids. And yes there were definitely amazing people at this place and i bet other kids definitely felt welcome but some people don’t deserve to work with kids if they cannot understand a child’s mind. I loved Ian, and the techs they were awesome. I’ve heard other good reviews about one specific therapist that I did not have but I bet he was amazing.
It was not me but a family member who went there. It was a very positive experience and Brandon established a very good rapport with him.
Intake was quick and easy
This place makes you feel welcome. The therapists are really good. As an adult coming into this is really thought it was a program just for kids. However thats not true they really care about ur well being
Very Professional would highly recommend to anyone struggling with anything that they may have going on in there life past, present, and potentially future. Very well oriented in truly wanting to help others in need not… only because that's there job but the treat you like a person not a payday whether you have insurance or not. I am truly grateful for all parties involved. Sincerely, Cody Malko
I did the PHP program at GenPsych and had a great experience. I was at the lowest point in my life and I honestly believe the program and the staff helped to save my life. The therapists really do care and pushed/helped… me to actively take the steps needed to improve my life.
I went from 0 to 10 and the help i recieved it help me improve my lifestyle forever
I would highly recommend Genpsych. My son was able to learn alot about how to handle his anxiety. His therapist Brandon was excellent. My son connected with him right away and I will reach out to him in the future if… needed.
I truly loved my experience here- the therapists and my treatment team was kind and genuinely invested in my well-being.
i went to genpsych at during one of the most challenging moments of my life. it ended up being the best experience i could have had. the facilitators, doctor, the groups; everything was an amazing experience for me. the… groups were something i apply to my life up to this very day. vicki is such an amazing therapist and carla was such a warm comforting doctor who both really listened. and rooted for me. the groups even set a tone that brought such a comfort between clients. it felt easy to be vulnerable and heal here. i would highly recommend this to anyone whose looking for a an incredible experience. i am forever grateful for my time there.
I absolutely loved my experience at GenPsych in the teen IOP. To say my time here was amazing would be an understatement, especially because the therapists Vicki, Brandon, Priscilla, and Meg were all so kind and made… sure our groups were fun. All the staff made sure our time there was enjoyable, and as someone that didn’t originally want to participate or do the work, their actions were appreciated more than they could ever know. If I had to, I would go here again because of how positive my first experience was :) ps. if you ever run into the upstairs staff, ask them if they would rather fight 3 Brandon sized Derins or 5 Derin sized Brandons!
Brandon Hickey is a kind, thorough, and hard working therapist. He has helped me more than others. Carla Williams is a great provider who is also patient and thorough. The entire staff at Genpsych have helped me get to… the next phase of my life and I am thankful.
My husband was discharged from the hospital last week. Had a very stressful time. We were referred by the psychiatrist to Gen psych in Marlboro New Jersey. We left several messages when I finally got through to the… admitting person. She was very nasty to me directly, I quote “we are very busy. It’s gonna take a few days to get back to you. We are short staffed. My other line is ringing. You have to leave a message”. If this is how you treat people that are going through such stressful and medical illnesses, you should NOT be in that form of work! No compassion at all! , I would never recommend this company to go for therapy or psych alternatives. I wound up calling another company that was so compassionate and got back to me right away and are helping me. Don’t go to this place. It’s terrible.
Genpsych helped to restore my sanity! I would recommend it to anyone who needs help with mental health and addiction issues. The staff here is amazing!!!
This is the best program!! Juliann and the staff there are wonderful people. The community here is very warm and everyone is so helpful!
I attended this IOP Bridgewater program twice. Once in February 2024 and July 2025; AND both times were incredibly valuable. I truly felt heard and validated, especially when I saw that suggestions I made in 2024 were… implemented in the 2025 DBT binder. It showed the team values client feedback and practices interpersonal effectiveness. The facilitators are skilled in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and use mindfulness, validation, and emotion regulation techniques to guide clients through crisis and trauma. They create a safe space to learn, grow, and process difficult emotions. My prescribing doctor was amazing. She listened closely, considered my work and home life, and adjusted medications with care. Her real-life advice was incredibly helpful, and I wish I could continue seeing her outside the program. My therapist was also outstanding. She showed deep compassion, helped me recognize areas for growth, and used validation and accountability to support real progress. I’ll miss her (and her feelings wheel pillow)! Pet therapy was a favorite coping skill and brought comfort during stressful times. I do wish DBT groups offered light snacks with mindful music (fruit, mini muffins, or tea/coffee) once a week. It could support mindful eating and help build community. Overall, I’m grateful for the support, the DBT skills I’ve learned, and the real progress I’ve made. I highly recommend this program to anyone seeking structured, compassionate mental health care.
Dudes pretty chill
I currently have a past due bill (because I was unemployed and had a paid insurance that was bad). It’s pretty large. I understand them contacting me to get it. That’s reasonable - corporate america and all that. I’ve… previously set up a payment plan I can afford, and pay when I can. No, they’re going after my EMERGENCY CONTACT to collect the debt. My emergency contact, meant for medical emergencies at a mental health facility, to get payment. I’m so disgusted by this place regarding billing, but honestly the therapy wasn’t great either. They were trying to discharge me prior to an agreed upon conference for mental health purposes, and were giving me the go around because it was “out of their control” (it wasn’t. Goals aren’t met…discuss it with insurance?). Anyway. Do not recommend.
Staff is caring and responsive. The program has helped my daughter tremendously.
