It's rare to find a locally owned mental health practice in Southeast Michigan that has been around this long and still delivers such attentive care. From front desk admin help with prescription paperwork to my therapy… sessions with Amy, the entire clinic operates with complete excellence.

Finding the right support for my teenager felt overwhelming until we came here. Karlie has been an absolute blessing for my daughter. My girl actually looks forward to her sessions now, and we've seen huge improvements… in her mood and confidence at home. Knowing that KaraLee is a locally owned practice with structured management gave us so much peace of mind as parents.

Adriana is deeply empathetic and professional. The entire office culture feels organized, secure, and dedicated to high standards of care.

This practice is filled with caring and compassionate professionals who really want to help their patients. I can attest to that from experience. Another thing worth mentioning is just how organized everything is here!… My sessions always begin and end on time, the information in my file is always up to date, and I’ve never had billing issues or problems with my prescriptions. It’s a tight ship.

As a parent, I needed more than just someone to talk to my child. I needed a legitimate pro. My son was struggling with anger at school and shutting down at home after a tough transition year (we had to move cities… recently). It was starting to affect his ability to make friendships and even worse, his confidence. That’s why I wanted to find a place who had therapists with real insights, who could get through to him and deliver some actual help! He’s been getting that at KaraLee. As the months have passed, we’ve seen some real change. Fewer outbursts, better communication, and he’s starting to handle frustration in a much healthier way. It finally feels like we’ve got him on the right path.

TBH, finding the right therapist for my teenager was pretty daunting. After all, it’s such an important relationship and it’s one that’s beginning at a very fragile time in my daughter’s life. I knew I had to get this… one right! So, so lucky I found KaraLee and Associates. The therapists here are compassionate and know how to talk to kids at that age. Beyond that, the office staff helped me out with scheduling and paperwork, and once we got started, my daughter actually began opening up more, which was something of a minor miracle! Family life has taken a big step forward.

What stands out about KaraLee & Associates is their professional culture. My therapist always talks about evidence-based approaches to treatment, and sometimes lets me know what he’s been learning through his ongoing… training. Another important factor that I didn’t realize was a thing until entering into the world of therapy? The clinicians here are fullscale employees, not independent contractors who are renting space in a building, and that kind of stability really shows.

Finding good help for my teenage son was overwhelming (he has multiple issues happening at once), but as soon as I was put on to KaraLee & Associates, it made what was previously a very stressful process much more clear… and easy. The office staff helped me with the complicated paperwork and made scheduling a breeze. As frot he treatment itself, my son feels very comfortable opening up to his therapist and this has translated to him being more communicative at home. The sessions seem to be really helping him, thank God!! It’s what I care most about.

Horrible practice dont go here the only therapist I connected with left after only 3 months of seeing them and I never got a call back to get a new therapist not to mention surprise fees that make mental health care un… affordable for most

Very upset with this place. Had to get some testing done for my daughter and was told after what my insurance covered it would be “X” amount of dollars. I agreed because payment was due when the results came in and I… could afford what I was told. Received a bill in the mail a couple weeks later that was 2.5 times the amount of what I was told the cost would be AFTER our insurance covered their part. This place should be ashamed of themselves…..it was for my daughter not myself and I could only imagine what they might be doing to others having a mental health crisis and trying to get help. When I asked why it was way more than the original quoted price they then blamed it on my insurance company. I trusted these “professionals” that they were accurate when they quoted me and THAT’S why I agreed to the testing being done with them only to be lied to. Do not go here. I do not recommend. Read the reviews, I wish I had before choosing them.

Kara Lee helped to speed up the process of getting my teenage step daughter in for care. Many other therapy offices have a wait list, especially for that age group. We were thankful to have help and quickly! The… therapist is very empathetic and offered several options for additional support. As a parent, I am grateful to have the therapist available to help with difficult discussions and topics. We were informed about what our insurance exactly covered before we started sessions which was great too! I have recommended Kara Lee to others because of our positive experience.

They dropped me as a client without notifying me or much communication. Not a good experience overall. The negative reviews are true. I wanted to believe this was a good therapy because they accepted my insurance. I… hope Kara Lee can learn from the negative reviews and do better. But unfortunately, at this time I can't recommend them.

Do not, I repeat, do not go here. This place is fraudulent and an absolute scam. I took my daughter here for therapy, and her dad’s insurance that she was under switched through therapy. Rather than reach out to me on… my phone personally, they mailed me a bill. I called numerous times and left multiple messages to billing trying to take care of the issue. Come to find out they sent to collections and a law firm reaches out to me and it was two bills, another they were billing to our super old address. (Which is strange, they know I moved hence the one bill being sent to my current address) The insurance she switched to may have actually been able to cover the bill but because they waited YEARS to notify me that insurance didnt pick these bills up, it is now too late to bill out insurance. They are unprofessional and didn’t even help my daughter if anything made her worse. They prey on already vulnerable individuals going through a hard time to try to find a loophole to financially hurt a family. I am actually in disbelief and will be contacting BBB as I would not want ANYONE else to go through what we have with this place. Take you or your child elsewhere, this place will create mental trauma by having to deal with them and try to reach them on a daily basis. Let these reviews speak for themselves. They have less than 3 stars for a reason. They’d probably have even less but their clients may not be the type to want to speak up on their scams. Do your research! Mental health is so important, don’t let them take advantage of you. God bless.

Horrible place!!!!! I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Took my teenager here and they made her feel worst about herself. She feels she can't trust people even more now. AND to top it off, I witnessed them… laughing and talking about their clients after they leave. In front of the people in the waiting room! I don't understand how they can sleep at night knowing the things they've done.

I was trying to go back to get help with the only therapist I connected with. They will not see me because apparently I owe them money. I told them I would pay but still denied me services. So if you are in collections… for less than $100, they will not see you.

I was seeing a therapist for a few months. She would contact me to move my appointments constantly. The last time she canceled on me then ghosted me completely. I called the office and was told by the receptionist they… would have someone contact me about seeing someone else but i never heard back.When we did meet for sessions she constantly watched the clock and did not help me. I am not sure i will ever go back to a thearpist after the way i was treated here. I would recommend you avoid this place.

Stay away from this place!!! I don’t leave reviews very often but this one was needed. At first I thought the negative comments were a little unreasonable. Now I understand after dealing with them first hand. I had to… reach out to them 5 times before I even got an appointment. They were super unorganized and didn’t know what was going on.The therapists are rookies.They’re clock watchers who are only there to dish people in and out of there low budget reconstructed 7eleven building.I went there for 6 months for my anxiety and was never given a diagnosis on what was actually causing it. The psychiatrist I delt with, A.K.A. medical director is retired but still does telehealth visits via FaceTime because they don’t have enough doctors to staff for how many patients they take in. You’ll never see him in person. Just throws out medication and gives no diagnosis of what the problem actually is either. After being late for a couple appointments I received a copy and paste text from the therapist I was seeing. He informed me the practice couldn’t help me anymore and to go back to my primary doctor. When I asked why they had no legitimate reason and the therapist never responded back. It’s super dangerous to be giving out high doses of psychiatric medications and then just cutting them off without tapering off the medication. Super unprofessional environment. Please read this and keep a heads up when dealing with this practice. They need to be evaluated by the state because the don’t meet the qualifications to run a psychiatric practice. I ended up having to go to the hospital 3 different times for seizures from my medication running out. The ER informed me I was withdrawing due to the medication they put me on.Nobody should have to deal with that. Any patient who comes here with the intent of actually trying to resolve problems that interfere with everyday life or trying to better themselves is a lost cause.

Worst experience of my life, they've done nothing but make my anxiety, stress and depression worse. Thank you so much for not caring about the well being of a client that's been coming here for years.

There is something terribly wrong with this practice! My spouse and I went to the office about 1 month ago to inquire about family counseling. We gave the receptionist all our information and were told we were good to… go. She told us that Dr. William Starnes would call us to set up an appointment. We have yet to hear anything and I have called the office 3 times to try and get some information on when we can expect an appointment and have never gotten a call back. I don't know whats going on there but this is no way to run a health care facility.

Wish I could separately rate my experiences. I’ve not had issues with the office people, but #1 the requirement to see my psychiatrist is too much #2 I’m going on my 3rd psychologist already because all the ones I’ve… gotten have moved onto better places. Seems like this is a beginners stepping stone. As far as psychologists go, I’m not impressed. However, I adore my psychiatrist here. She’s caring/understanding/patient.
