Methodist Richardson Medical Center – Richardson Detox and Rehab Services

Methodist Richardson Medical Center – Richardson is listed as running residential treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. Which of these is appropriate depends on an assessment, not on what sounds manageable at the time.

Both conditions are treated in parallel, which is what the research supports. Ask what a typical week involves before committing, since the schedule determines whether the program is workable alongside work or family.

Very hot inside and made me want to leave as soon as I got there, the worst experience was the immense amount of heat, still better than the MayoClinic so I will give a generous 3 stars instead of 1.

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Carley Legal at Methodist. I had to leave work early specifically for this appointment and arrived 10 minutes prior to my scheduled time, yet the clinic refused to see me.… The only alternative offered was to reschedule five months out. To make matters worse, the front desk staff falsely claimed they had called and left a voicemail regarding a cancellation or issue. I showed them my phone records proving I hadn't received a single voicemail from them in over two months. Additionally, the patient portal app provided no prior forms or pre-appointment tasks to complete. The disrespect for patients' time, lack of accountability, and poor scheduling practices are unacceptable.

Our experience trying to coordinate care with the psychiatric staff and attending physician at Methodist was extremely frustrating. Despite submitting pharmacogenomic (GeneSight) testing paperwork to social workers… multiple times and completing an ROI, staff continued to prescribe medications flagged for significant gene-drug interactions and discharged my family member while unstable. There was a complete breakdown in communication and care coordination between doctors, social workers, and families.

SYDNEY the social worker is the worst social worker and very unprofessional! I went in there because I attempted suicide and the cops brought me here telling me that I would be in a safe place and that they were gonna… take really good care of me. When I got there they locked me in a room with aggressive people and they had me in a room first but Sydney told them to lock me up in that room for 4 DAYS with no warrant and it was like jail if not WORST! Lights on 24/7 couldn’t have my privacy, they didn’t let me shower, couldn’t see the sun and couldn’t even see my family. When I told them that the people were being aggressive towards me they didn’t even care. Gus and Fatemah were the only good workers and they actually cared but everybody else completely neglected me and social workers didn’t wanna work with me but worked with everybody else. This place is horrible they don’t care about you they only care about money. I went in there feeling miserable and I came out feeling worse than before. I don’t recommend this place at all and you stay away from it and fire Sydney because instead of trying to make me feel better about my situation she made me feel like it was all my fault and told me that being there was consequences of my own actions and lied to my parents telling them that I was I was blaming her and that I was being uncooperative when all I asked was to please set me free for my graduation. Horrible place.

Went in for help on a good day for me and came out miserable. Probably the worst psychiatric care with the staff laughing at patients having mental episodes in the hallways, also very passive aggressive with their… patients and how they speak to them. They say seek help when you need it and then make it 100x worse. Adding that they charged me $6000 for this ER evaluation. DONT ASK FOR HELP AT THIS CLINIC! They are predatory! Also years ago Dr Tran overcharged me on a procedure that she recommended and I’ve never looked at this place the same since. $750 to remove a skin tag as small as a flea lol…

I came to the Outpatient Imaging & Testing at Methodist at 401 W Campbell to get a CT scan. This was on 4/22/26. First person I meet is a lady behind a computer by the name of Geneva who is on her phone, didn’t even… look up to greet me but was almost annoyed that I was there. She says with a very rude voice if she can help me and throughout the whole time, she is just talking to me like I’m a kid very rude and condescending. I ask her if there is an insurance estimate for this and she says no no you are responsible for anything the insurance doesn’t pay. Well duh I am that’s why I’m asking. Methodist, please do better with hiring people who actually care about patients. Because this lady ain’t it. We are people diagnosed with cancer and other life altering illnesses and the least that we need is someone talking down to us. There was a man right after me and he was older and again she talks to him with such arrogance and contempt. Geneva, please change jobs, do what makes you happy. We patients don’t need nor deserve this.

The only good thing about this hospital is the male nurse/attendee with red hair at the front of ER intake. There was this really rude lady with an African accent that told me to go home and wait for a call. The male… registrar took my note and allowed me to ask more questions.

Save yourself the headache as this hospital will overcharge for everything and price everything at the max they possibly can. Their billing department is no help at all. Unfortunately this place is proof that healthcare… has become a business.

So, I've had a heart attack in the past. I came in with some chest pain and let me tell you. If you have what you think is an emergency, go to the Psych Hospital. They were immediately attentive with all the concern and… care that would be required. They did all the necessary testing very quickly and proficiently. Fortunately, my episode turned out to be a false alarm. I can tell you that it was clean, quite, calming and all the team were very kind and friendly. Even put up with my jokes. Thanks guys, you've made be feel very relieved.

I went in for a dog bite I thought was pretty deep. I get there and the doctor gives my hand a once over and says I’ll be fine. Two punctures and I get a bandaid and some sticky strips…they don’t even wrap me up. I’m… still bleeding and oozing whatever is coming out of my hand when they send me on my way. The bandaid fell off by the way.

Your nurses shared information with a person I did not want it shared with. From the moment I entered I felt unwelcome and taken advantage of. I have no respect for this hospital.

Was admitted last week; lack of diversity & nurses told me to "tone it down" when they assumed my culture's language was being rude (I was talking about the weather to my parents). The nurses & social workers also… constantly lied to me about my medical care & process. When I called today to get paperwork, Mike was extremely rude to me & ended the call right after getting my name. I had to call multiple times to the main hospital before even getting directed anywhere.

My recent visit here deserves less than a 1 star. The staff lacks diversity which was the first red flag. Second red flag is no one was in the waiting room. Third red flag was how outdated it seemed, they were writing… all my info I was saying on a blank piece of paper, not putting into a computer system which is really odd. The Dr is careless. They don’t care about patients or actually treating you. Almost took my having Covid as a moment for him to have a nice laugh. Like I was crazy for even coming in when I was having so many terrible symptoms. I was throwing up since the day prior and couldn’t hold any fluids down. Asked for fluids and he basically said that wouldn’t do anything. Except, it would have because I’m pretty sure being super dehydrated while having Covid intensifies certain symptoms, but what do I know. There’s too many good hospitals around so drive an extra 2 miles and get the care you deserve.

I was denied care for a serious injury because the ER doctor did not want to see it as a medical emergency and I was told to my face by him that he would not intervene until I was septic. I was left to suffer for the… next 4 days with no preventive care for infection and zero pain control. I became very ill and had to be seen at their main hospital off George Bush where I was admitted for sepsis and required same day surgery. This location (off Campbell) was very poorly run, unprofessional and lacked concern for safety. They put my life at risk and in jeopardy all because an ER doctor refused care. Please avoid this facility.

The behavioral section of the hospital is the epitome of negligence, suboptimal care, and deceit. Multiple patients have "eloped" (escaped) the supposedly "secure" portion of the floor. Patients have been regularly seen… on the floor(s) below the behavioral floor. The escaping happens so often that all staff on all floors are told in advance that this occurs frequently, to be aware of it, and to notify security to take the patient(s) back to the behavioral floor. If you look through the other reviews for this place you will find more stories of patients that escaped down the elevators and into the lobby. Shockingly there were rumors of a patient who FULLY ESCAPED THE BUILDING and then got injured outside before being noticed and brought back. The staff reference policies that they themselves cannot provide any proof or validation of in any way, shape, or form. The behavioral hospital is a horrible place that I strongly recommend avoiding at all costs if you have any choice in the decision.

Took social worker 3 days to contact me. Had questions she never returned my call. Dr spent 5 min with the pt and never got to the bottom of the issues. The dr who I’m not impressed with also, never called any family to… find out what the true issues were. (Keep in mind that the dr isn’t a full time employee at this hospital). Therapy was an absolute joke it was group therapy where they did crossword puzzles and name that tune. The nurses are incredibly rude. Stay away from this place. Period !!!! No help what so ever.

I took my daughter here because she was having chest pain and other symptoms. She is only 4 years old and we are from Houston so I was hesitant especially not knowing anything about Dallas area hospitals. I am extremely… grateful and thankful for all the staff that attended us and listened to all of our concerns. They made sure to test my daughter for flu, COVID and strep and were extremely patient with her when they were doing the tests. When we left there my daughter told me she liked the nurses and doctor because they were nice.

Took the Dr's Recommendation at Methodist Richardson and admitted our daughter into the behavioral unit for detox. I guess we didn't realize that she would be in the same ward as people having psychotic episodes 24/7 -… which was bad enough. The real issue was the staff repeatedly intentionally walking in on my daughter while changing and showering - after she specifically alerted them that she would be showering. My person opinion, keeping in mind that I don't know a lot about detox units, I would never allow a family member or friend to go here again. After repeated conversations to flag her chart to block her physically abusive significant other, they allowed phone contact even without the required patient info. Once when we were visiting, a patient actually eloped and made it down the elevators. I sincerely wish we had read the reviews ahead of time. There were several positive people on staff that were helpful, but they couldn't outweigh all of these trauma triggers.
