About Salvation Army Warrondi Engage and Link (WEL) Day Program
Warrondi Engage and Link is The Salvation Army’s day programme at Whitmore Square in Adelaide, created for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over 18 who are dealing with alcohol or other drug use. Attendance is free and nothing needs to be booked in advance.
The day runs from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm on weekdays, with counsellors available on a call-in basis from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Clients decide which activities to take up, among them individual counselling, art, music, gym, SMART Recovery, group sessions and social outings, and relapse prevention is the thread connecting them. The programme sits within the Towards Independence Aboriginal Outreach Team’s work.

Salvation Army Warrondi Engage and Link (WEL) Day Program Alcohol and Drug Services
Warrondi Engage and Link offers a day programme and outpatient counselling, both delivered in a culturally sensitive way for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. The mix includes one-to-one counselling, art and music, gym and nutrition, SMART Recovery as an open group, group therapy and relapse prevention work.
Choosing your own activities is part of the model, so the programme can be as light or as full as suits. The open SMART Recovery group means someone can attend that alone without joining everything else. No withdrawal care or medication programme is listed for Warrondi Engage and Link, and no formal intake process is recorded, so a conversation at the drop-in is usually the starting point.

Salvation Army Warrondi Engage and Link (WEL) Day Program Reviews
Public reviews of Warrondi Engage and Link are limited, which says little about the day programme itself and more about how rarely culturally specific services attract online comment. RehabSeekers hosts reviews for this programme, and anyone who has spent time at Whitmore Square is welcome to describe it.
What a prospective client would value is detail: whether the drop-in really is as informal as it sounds, how the SMART Recovery group ran, whether the art, music and gym activities were well supported. Family members who have encouraged someone to attend can add a useful second view.
I have taken a very intoxicated member of my family here, several times, when it's impossible to have them at home in their Dickensian state. The area outside is confronting at night but the the staff have been helpful… and professional. This is a good option, when you run out of options.
Best place to simply detox for the night and have no were to stay for the night!!!
Salvation Army is an organisation that cares about people. People in need.
A remarkable organization dedicated to drug and alcohol rehabilitation and to assisting homeless and disenfranchised people in our community
Wonderful nurturing people, great program..
Very helpful lucky enough to be here😎
Due to the range of services provided . But government has pulled massive amounts of funding and has really crippled a very much needed service to the community. Seriously that is a big blow to such a vital organisation.
