TriCity Family Services – Geneva Reviews and Ratings
Families searching for treatment in Geneva often start with reviews. If you were a patient at TriCity Family Services, or supported one, sharing how it went gives them something real to go on.
I received therapy appointments here for 5+ years and psychiatric appointments for about 4 years. I chose this place because it was the only place that took my insurance within an hour of my home. The therapists that I… saw were mostly alright, but they had a high turn around and several employees talked about patients in great detail in the break room (the door was often open and patient's had to walk past to go into therapy rooms. One of the receptionists yelled at me over the phone when I was making a psychiatric appointment for the day that the psychiatrist said was available, but apparently wasn't. The psychiatrist severely over prescribed me within the first year of seeing her. Whenever there was adverse side effects (including Serotonin syndrome multiple times, resulting in several concerns from my therapist, primary care doctor, and pharmacist) she increased my prescriptions and said that I must of been taking them wrong. My primary care doctor tried to contact Tricity multiple times for years, and they never contacted him back. She refused to help me decrease my prescription despite the severe side effects and requests from my therapists, primary care doctor, and pharmacist. There is only one psychiatrist, so the wait to see her often went over 30-120 minutes past the scheduled time. Receptionist and the psychiatrist heavily guilted patients if they tried to reschedule if they couldn't wait 2 hours. When having telehealth appointments with the psychiatrist, I was quilted into having my appointment in public after going to a public basement due to a tornado presence nearby my university (after she was late by 30 minutes). She is also very unfriendly about LGBTQ+ identities.
After going I wish I had gone years ago! Beth was great she listened and gave support, suggestions which both encouraging helpful. Monica was amazing she listened to me and directed me to the right person to fit my… needs!
They are the absolute BEST!!!
crap all they care about is money….
This place is absolute trash. They put you on a ridiculously long waiting list only to place you with a therapist that will violate HIPPA laws, and after you don't want to see them anymore because they made you so… uncomfortable, they will continue to bill you for "missed appointments" that were never even scheduled. I honestly don't know how the therapist I saw is even allowed to be a therapist. This place does not care about anybodys well-being, only their money, and the woman that answers the phone is pretty rude too. What a vile establishment.
I want to express my gratitude for the service my daughter has received, from reception to her psychiatrist, Dana, and especially to her therapist, Elizabeth Martinez, who has done tremendous work with my daughter and… my family. She has made immense progress in every aspect and has rediscovered her purpose in life. I know there is still a long way to go, but we are at a much more advanced stage now compared to previous years and other therapists my daughter has had. Thank you so much.
My therapist, Donna, has the gift of empathy. I started working with her when I couldn't take care of myself due to severe frozen shoulder pain and insomnia. It took me down into my trauma and a place without purpose.… She gave me the space to recreate myself and get back up again. I highly recommend working with them if you're seeking change in your life.
This is my full year with TriCity Family Services and I feel very fortunate to have an amazing therapist to help me. Office staff interactions are minimal for me since I primarily request online session from my… therapist. So our interactions more one-on-one. Thank you TriCity for providing great mental healthcare.
I called because my child is in dire need of mental help and the lady that answered the phone was so rude, tactless, and unkind. Just for this I resorted to another place. If this is the face of this place what does it… say about the rest?
I called to make an appointment today and the lady who answered was extremely blunt and had no compassion whatsoever when I asked her if they carried my insurance. They did, but she rudely told me that they’re only… serving those in the area right now since I was a few towns over. I totally understand that, but what I don’t understand is how they could have someone like that answer calls from people who are definitely going through a rough time. It’s unacceptable and really shows how much they care about their potential clients. I would’ve considered going without using my insurance since their waitlist was lower than the other place I called, but now after hearing how much compassion they have I’ll definitely be looking for other places.
there was a point in time that I thought this was the best therapy group around im here to tell you there is next to no compassion - especially if you are one of your medical patients. I missed an appointment last week… which was an appointment ONE DAY before a schedule 2 substance should be filled & received no zoom schedule link, no phone call in regards to said appointment and have been calling every day for a week and STILL DO NOT HAVE MY PERSCRIPTION FILLED AND HAVE BEEN FORCED TO WITHDRAW FROM IT while already dealing with life's difficulties & the condition for which this medication is prescribed ALSO despite my pharmacist calling 2 times. I was able to get a new appointment for 1pm and because I was late to getting jnto the Zoom by approx 10 minutes, even though I was told my time window was 1pm-120pm I was then called and told that she moved to her next patient DESPITE my numerous phone calls and pleas in regards to forcibly withdrawing from this medication, I was told that doesn't matter, they would "see" about filling the script for the medication I am withdrawing from and call back for another appointment because they are over two weeks out. this is NOT the first time I have had issues in regards to getting ahold of someone about medication and is not the first time of having scheduling issues. this clinic clearly does not care about what happens to your brain or body while you withdraw from a SCHEDULE TWO SUBSTANCE and are happy to tell you that. FIND YOURSELF A DOCTOR WHO ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT THE POTENTUAL LIABILITY & IMPACT THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR LIFE SO YOUR MEDS ARENT AFFECTED LIKE MINE HAVE BEEN. my therapist Trisha is an amazing therapist and I at one point really did like my psychiatrist, you know until my body was forced into withdrawal and I'm told that I don't matter because I was late to my appointment by about 10 minutes, but they've been late by over 50 minutes without a phone call & that's entirely ok ;) HOPEFULLY SOMETHING DRASTIC DOESNT HAPPEN FROM ME NOT HAVING MY MEDICATION
I called and they told me it was going to be 4 to 6 weeks. Every time I try to call back nobody calls me back. Terrible service. Don’t recommend. Don’t even waste your time here. Just go to a different place.
Do not take your children here. They ignore license law. My child is seeking therapy now elsewhere to get over the trauma caused here by Laura, Jules, and an unlicensed intern. No licensed therapist spent any time with… my child and Jules admitted via phone she wasn’t supervising the intern with my child. 100% illegal and a violation of their duties as a licensed professional. Avoid. Save yourself the trauma and heartache. Based on their response to my daughters situation, they really don’t care. Go anywhere else.
Wonderful agency that provides excellent services.
I was put on a waiting list in september, they said it would take 6-8 weeks for them to see me meaning at the latest sometime in november, i called again in december-january to see what was going on and they told me a… few more weeks, it’s now march might just go somewhere else
Great place the wonderful staff is the best in the world they have helped our family so much.
