Rehabs That Take ESI Employee Assistance Group

ESI Employee Assistance Group provides employee assistance programs that employers offer as a benefit. An EAP generally covers short-term, confidential counseling and can help with assessment and referral when alcohol or drug use is a concern. Longer treatment is normally covered, if at all, by the member’s own health plan, with terms that vary by level of care.

Centers in Connecticut, Idaho and New Mexico on this page name ESI on their websites. Use the EAP for early counseling and a referral, and check the health plan for treatment benefits. Before admission, speak with the facility and the insurer about network status, prior authorization and what the member would owe.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

Does ESI EAP cover rehab?

No. ESI's own FAQ states that treatment programs are not covered by the employee assistance program. The EAP pays for short-term counseling and referral when alcohol or drug use is a concern, while detox, residential rehab, PHP and IOP would be billed to the member's health insurance plan.

An EAP counselor can assess the situation and point you toward local treatment, but the facility's charges fall to the health plan or to the member.

What is ESI Employee Assistance Group?

ESI Employee Assistance Group, legally Employee Services, LLC, is an employer-paid employee assistance program provider founded in 1983 in Wellsville, New York. It reports more than 3,000 employers and over 1,500,000 members across the US and Canada, offering counseling, coaching, work/life, legal and financial help. It is not a health insurer.

Employee Assistance Programshttps://rehabseekers.com/payment/employee-assistance-programs/
Does ESI EAP cover detox or inpatient rehab?

No. Treatment programs of every level, including medical detox and inpatient stays, are excluded from the EAP benefit. A counselor can refer a member to local resources, but those outside providers set their own fees, which the member's health insurance or the member pays directly.

ESI Employee Assistance Group, the legal entity Employee Services, LLC, is an employee assistance program bought and paid for by an employer, not a health insurer. Founded in 1983 in Wellsville, New York, it now reports more than 3,000 employer groups and more than 1,500,000 members across the United States and Canada. What it buys a member is counseling and referral, at no cost to the employee, not a treatment benefit.

That distinction decides how addiction treatment gets paid for. ESI’s own FAQ lists treatment programs among the things the EAP does not cover, alongside DUI assessments, court-ordered cases, psychological evaluations and fitness-for-duty evaluations. An EAP counselor can assess drinking or drug use, talk it through and point toward a local program, but the bill for detox, residential care or an intensive outpatient schedule falls to the health plan on the member card, or to the member. The employee assistance program and the health plan are two separate doors.

This guide sets out what ESI pays for and what it does not, how its counseling authorization works, what each level of care costs when the health plan takes over, where medication sits, and how to shortlist a program after the EAP call.
