Rehabs That Take Healthplex

Healthplex is a benefits organization named by treatment centers in New York. Plans connected to the name may or may not include coverage for drug and alcohol treatment, and any benefits depend on the plan, the network and the level of care.Centers on this page mention Healthplex on their own websites, which is where this listing comes from. Before admission, ask the facility whether it still works with Healthplex, then call the plan to check whether addiction treatment is a covered benefit at all, whether prior authorization or a referral is needed, and what share of the cost would fall to you.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

Does Healthplex cover rehab?

No. Healthplex is a dental-only insurer and benefits administrator based in New York, selling and administering dental plans. It pays for cleanings, x-rays, fillings, root canals and similar dental work, not drug or alcohol treatment. Any rehab coverage comes from your separate medical plan, employer plan, marketplace plan or Medicaid managed care plan.

Check the member services number on your medical insurance card, not your dental card, to confirm whether addiction treatment is a covered benefit.

Private Insurance Acceptedhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/private-insurance-accepted/
Does Healthplex cover detox or inpatient rehab?

No. Detox and inpatient addiction treatment are medical services, and the Healthplex plan manual states that procedures medical in nature are the responsibility of the medical plan or liability insurer. Healthplex benefits stop at dental care, so a hospital or residential detox stay is billed to your medical insurer.

Someone with New York Medicaid gets detox through their Medicaid managed care plan; Healthplex only administers the dental portion of that coverage.

Detox Centershttps://rehabseekers.com/programs/detox-centers/
Does Healthplex cover therapy or mental health care?

No. Dental insurance and dental discount plans are the only products Healthplex sells, and no therapy, psychiatry, counseling or behavioral telehealth benefit appears in any of them. Mental health care for a Healthplex member runs through their separate medical plan, whether that is an employer, marketplace or Medicaid plan.

The company publishes no mental health or crisis line, so use the behavioral health number printed on the back of your medical insurance card.

Healthplex is a New York dental insurer and dental benefits administrator, owned by UnitedHealth Group since December 31, 2020, and it does not pay for drug or alcohol treatment. A Healthplex card buys cleanings, x-rays, exams, root canals, extractions and crowns. Detox, residential care, intensive outpatient treatment and addiction medication are paid for by the separate medical plan, not by Healthplex.

The name still turns up on treatment center websites, usually because it is easy to mix up with something else. Owensboro Health Henderson Healthplex in Henderson, Kentucky is a care location offering behavioral health services rather than an insurer. HealthFlex is a United Methodist Church benefits plan. HealthPlus was a New York Medicaid plan under Amerigroup. Any of those can end up typed as Healthplex on a payer list.

This guide explains what Healthplex actually sells, why no level of addiction care is covered under it, which card carries the benefit that matters, what the authorization and cost questions look like once the right plan is identified, and how to search for a program when the only card in the wallet says Healthplex.
