Rehabs That Take Lyra Health EAP

Lyra Health EAP is the employee assistance program from Lyra Health, which provides mental health benefits to employers. EAPs usually cover short-term counseling and referrals, not longer drug and alcohol treatment.California centers on this page name Lyra Health EAP on their own websites. If your employer offers Lyra, the program can help you find care and explain your options, but residential or outpatient treatment is usually billed to your medical plan. Before admission, contact Lyra, your health insurer and the facility to check which costs each covers, whether the center is in network, and whether prior authorization or a referral is needed.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

What is Lyra Health EAP?

Lyra Health EAP is an employee assistance program sold to employers by Lyra Health, a workforce mental health company founded in 2015. It gives employees and household members a set number of free short-term counseling or coaching sessions each year, plus work-life services such as legal and financial referrals.

Lyra is not a health insurer. Longer treatment, including residential rehab, is billed to the employer's medical plan rather than to the EAP itself.

Employee Assistance Programshttps://rehabseekers.com/payment/employee-assistance-programs/
Does Lyra Health cover rehab?

No, not directly. Lyra's own substance use care is virtual outpatient treatment: therapy, peer-led groups, digital lessons and medication. When someone needs residential or inpatient rehab, Lyra care navigators refer to in-network facilities through Lyra Facility Partners, and the facility bills the member's health plan.

Lyra coordinates the referral and the step-up or step-down planning, so your medical plan's deductible and coinsurance decide what a stay actually costs you.

Residential Rehabhttps://rehabseekers.com/programs/residential/
Does Lyra Health EAP pay for residential treatment?

No. The EAP covers short-term counseling and coaching only, and employer summaries such as Occidental Petroleum's exclude advanced-stage alcohol or drug use from EAP sessions. Residential and inpatient care is arranged through Lyra's care navigation and paid by the member's medical plan.

Lyra introduced Complex Care in early 2024 for higher-acuity members, adding inpatient facility coordination and support when someone moves between levels of care.

Lyra Health is a workforce mental health company that employers buy as their employee assistance program, not an insurance carrier. For anyone weighing up treatment, that one fact decides the money: Lyra pays for a set number of short-term counseling or coaching sessions each year, while a detox or residential admission is billed to the medical plan named on the insurance card.

Founded in 2015 and led by chief executive Jennifer Schulz since January 2025, Lyra reaches more than 20 million members through direct employer contracts and far more through health plan and partner relationships. Its own substance use care is virtual and outpatient, carried under the Lyra Renew brand. Where more intensive care is needed, a Lyra Care Navigator refers out through Lyra Facility Partners and coordinates the admission, and the treating program bills the health plan directly.

This guide sets out what Lyra itself pays for at each level of care, where the handover to the medical plan happens, what authorization applies, how many free sessions different employers buy, how medication is handled, and how to find a program once the Care Navigator has pointed you toward one.
