BJC Behavioral Health – Florissant Reviews
Before contacting BJC Behavioral Health, it can help to read how patients and their families describe the program. Their reviews are collected in this section, along with reviews from around the web.
I had a good caseworker until he quit because BJC is a disorganized mess and is terrible to work for. The new caseworker they assigned me is disorganized, rude, knows absolutely nothing about me but loves to talk down… to me like I'm a stupid child. So I'm done with her and her bs. Scheduling department also answer the phone like they hate their jobs and getting scheduled for follow up appointments is ridiculous when providers don't have any availability for months and months.
This is a great place always love going to see the Therapist and Caseworker...... Easy parking and the cleanliness of the inside...... Security Guard greets you when walking in. The staff is very Friendly.....
I was trying to find a psychiatrist for my husband to refill his medications. They were insisting very rudely that he needed in patient services for his condition without even knowing what was going on. And I called… them since my husband works 40 hours a week, which seemed to upset him. The people who answer the phone here are extremely rude, and when I made it clear I didn't want to work with him he tried calling me back 5 times before I eventually blocked the number. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Edit: he is continuing to call 30 minutes after I wrote this review from 5 or 6 different phone numbers so far.
Person that suppost to help u reschedule ure appointment sounds lazy plus she hangs up the phone
Thanks Kaylah at the call center. You were friendly, upbeat and professional. You showed empathy and listened to every detail, ensuring I didn't have to repeat myself, not once. For the first time since 2019, I didn't… hang up on the intake or receptionist for being rude and/or arrogant. I hope you get everything you prayed! 💕
this number dosnt work and i dont appreciate it neither has my case manger been answering thanks alot bjc....
I despise calling this place because the lady @ the front for adult behavioral health does NOT answer the phone.
My husband and i have both worked with this organization and weve both had less than favorable experiences. Ill start off with the negatives and end with the positives here. Lets start with the organization itself. I… started with them in early to mid 2023, i had seen my psychiatrist a few times (shes amazing, more about her later), enough to get me on a medication that worked, and then i ended up in a coma. So end of 2023 comes and ive awoken from my coma and notified BJC of this fact. They let me know that theres some paperwork that needs to be done before year end to continue my services. I get the paperwork from my husband and managed to sign it and turn it in on time, this is also when i set up my first appointment with my psychiatrist for after im out of the hospital. The day before my appointment i notice i hadnt gotten a comfirmation, i call them and they tell me IVE BEEN DISCHARGED! apperently they discharged me from the program due to the fact that i hadnt submitted the paperwork... this sent my psychiatrist on the warpath, but nothing could be done at that point so i had to go through the entire 2-4+ hour intake again WHILE I WAS ON A FEEDING TUBE! so then i tried working with their employment specialist tiffany, she didnt do a goddam thing other than push me to apply for jobs that i was physically and mentally unable to do due to, you know, being in a coma, and having a TBI. I wasnt surprised by this because its the exact same thing she pulled with my husband who is agorophobic and needed WFH, yet that wasnt possible for her. And then the worst part was case management. I started with one case manager and she was sopposed to be checking in on me 3x a week due to how suicidal i was. She then just disappearred for 3 weeks and i was left puzzled over why i wasnt hearing from her. Turns out she took vacation and didnt bother to get someone else to cover her clients. I asked for a different case manager and this time i actually liked the guy, but he never actually did anything for me other than talk to me. Then he quit, or was fired, idk and i was set up with terra... So this is about the time i found out my apt complex wasnt renewing my lease and my husband and i decided our only choice was to move to st. Peters with my MiL. I asked my case manager if i could keep my services since i was moving to st peters to which she told me she didnt know and would find out. I spent 2 months being told that i could probibly keep my services but they hadnt figured it out yet if i could or not. This is when i finally talked to my psychiatrist and she told me flat out that since i wasnt in the city or county anymore then i only had 30 days after the move. So now im losing all my services and dont have anything new lined up because they faffed about and took over 50 days to answer my simple yes or no question about policy which could have been answered via a 5 second email from my case manager in an agency wide email. I guess i should get to the 2 good things about this place, my psychiatrist dr. Curry and my therapist janice. They were wonderful caring women who both had my back. Dr. Curry worked her butt off despite her own medical issues to make sure that i was on the proper cocktail of meds. Janice was always loving and caring and totally understood everytime i forgot an apppintment due to a coma related memory gaff. They were both amazing and i will always be thankful for their help.
I DON'T recommend Dr. Cohen! She said to me, "If you're not taking going to take meds, then why are you seeing me?" HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT TO ME OR ANYONE! You are VERY LUCKY that I DIDN'T REPORT YOU! That's a great way… to get your license provoked! That's very UNPROFESSIONAL! I came here for help and I get this?! That's NOT ok! You didn't even take notes of the conversation we had! I'm NEVER letting them have me see her again! Recommend someone else, besides her that WILL HELP YOU!
The doctors are so incompetent but the receptionists, social workers, pharmacists, etc are great. Unfortunately those people can prescribe medication. My doctor in the past randomly quit and the doctor I’m seeing now… doesn’t even live in Missouri and I gotta see her on an iPad smh
Always kind
Took my father here recently and I expected more. We checked in and waited for about 30 minutes, which wasn’t bad. After calling our name, they put us in a room with an iPad. We then talked to someone virtually on the… iPad. In my opinion, we could have done this from home.. We did not see a doctor etc. They only suggested therapist or psychiatrist via “psychology today” website, which we also could’ve done ourselves.
This is my place
Awesome
I have been with bjcbh since 2019 and even though they're constantly overworked and understaffed they care. They quite literally saved my life, especially NP Kellerman, my psychiatrist and Ms. Torbert my case worker.
I was told I would be able to talk with someone. They took my insurance and I had to pay to be referred to another site. Not much help!
