Charlotte Rescue Mission is an amazing FREE nonprofit organization for those experiencing homelessness & substance use disorder. Doves Nest especially is an amazing program designed to maintain routine, learn life… skills, grow your spirituality and faith in the lord, while also focusing on your recovery and the 12 steps. The team here works very hard to assure equal and equitable opportunities for all.

Great place. I graduated there 2023 and I've been clean ever since. Once you finish their program they connect you with so many other programs such as Transitional living and once you finish that you can get connected… to the Lotus program. It's a wonderful stepping stone! ❤️

To any negative reviews, I'm a Dove's Nest grad. I'd been to many rehabs prior. There is nothing like Dove's Nest. It's an amazing place. Yes, it's tough. Your first day in there feels like a lifetime sentence. But,… they are quick to help you find real healing. That place is sacred ground to me. I treasure my Nest memories.

The volunteer work was just fine. I am giving a poor review because the woman at the front desk, Arkeitha Alston, screamed at me because I didn't have a waiver. I'm a military veteran, so I know what screaming is. There… was no reason for her to treat me like that. I was shocked that anyone working at a Christian charity would ever scream at a volunteer for not having a waiver. I will not be volunteering here again. I reached out on the website and eventually received a call from the program director to clear it up. I appreciate that they called me and addressed the issue, but I will not be coming back.

Dove's Nest is an amazing part of my life. After losing my 17-year-old daughter to a car crash I completely lost myself and I can honestly say I was knocking on death's door by the time I was accepted there. I am a… completely changed person now. I never thought I would see the day that I would be 9 months clean and I know for sure that I would not still be here today if I had not completed the program there. Too many people give up and leave from the nest before their miracle happens. It may not be for everyone but it certainly was an unforgettable life-changing experience for me and I am forever grateful. DOVE NATION!!!!!

Doves nest was a very intense and structured program which was what I needed at that time but 2weeks before graduation I didn't do what was asked of me which led me to be excused from the program really missed out on a… great opportunity

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!! I NOW HAVE ANXIETY ANS PTSD FROM THAT PLACE. ALL MY STUFF WAS STOLEN AND THE GUY Who is supposedly “ a man of God” is a nasty bully!

terrible. The staff are straight up bullies there. The girls are totally sketchy lot of ppl stealing there and there is nothing anyone does about it. Seriously you can't even wash your clothes and not worry about them… being stolen! You are not allowed to bring in any books or get any clothing mailed to you. You get the luxury of going to some thrift shop in their building. There is barley any support and you don't go anywhere! You are stuck like a caged rat for 4.5 months. It was a horrible experience for me but I guess that's how it is when you go to a free program. Seriously I was better off homeless, that place is ran like a prison! Just don't do it!!

My daughter was overwhelmed by the support and love when she arrived... At 3 months into her 4 month program she was pulled from a class and told her that she was released from the program. She was told that she didn't… have a sponsor??? THIS PLACE NEEDS TO EXPLAIN WHAT IS EXPECTED OF THEIR CLIENTS. IF YOU AREN'T A PERSON OF COLOR.... DON'T GO HERE!

I remembered the doves Nest program.it really changed my life. The first couple of daysThere were rough for meI told myself I did not belong But that house and those 12 lady's and staff became my family I learned alot… about myself this Program works if you work the program. I don't know how things are now but back in 2017it was a blessing to me. Thank you so much 💓.

My loved ones belongings were stolen nothing was done about it. If you try to send anything other than an envelope they send it back.. a month later. They never return calls no matter how many voice-mails you leave. If… there's an emergency there's no way of getting ahold of them. For a place that's been around as long as they have you'd think they'd have better control of things. Highly disappointed in the staff.

My daughter had her belongings stolen, and nothing was done to get them back. No, investigation and there wasn't a search conducted to even see if the roommates had them. We are from out of state and my daughter is an… alcoholic, never had problems using drugs but for some reason her urine came back with Suboxone in it??? They immediately had her pack her belongings and put her out. She was walked to the gate, they opened it and escorted her, then locked it. She had to sit at a gas station for 5 hours before anyone from Virginia could drive there to pick her up. This place I don'e expect for my review to stay up long but this experience for my daughter was a trigger and she began drinking again!! Please do your homework before going to a place, find out where most of the women are referred from, and if the staff is licensed in mental healthcare or addiction. It will save you from what we had to experience. Good luck!
