For those suffering from addiction, there is hope! Healing is available. When I was struggling with addiction, I tried to deal with it on my own unsuccessfully. But once I reached out for help and surrendered it to God.… I was set free! I would recommend The Blanchard Institute for anybody struggling to try to beat addiction by themselves. Reach out. Get help like I did.
If you’re looking for transformation, spiritual guidance, and truth to help you take your next step, this is the place to be.
Blanchard quite literally saved my life! I was very lost and extremely broken when I arrived, and the counselors and staff helped me feel loved and cared for. I love this sober life and grateful to be a Blanchard alumni.
I've never been disconnected from The Blanchard Institute and recovery thanks to the Change Agent program. It's provided connection, service opportunities and sober social fun! I really appreciate the thought and care… put in to this group by TBI, the facilitators and the members, and I highly recommend for any alumnae wanting long term sober support.
I’m sober, connected, and thriving today. When I feel pride in my sobriety, I ask myself, “What’s my part in all this?” I recognize that I am clean because of many sobriety programs, like The Blanchard Institute, which… have provided me with the knowledge, therapy, encouragement, empathy, and love I needed to move past the guilt, shame, and hopelessness of my alcoholism. Of course, I wouldn't be sober today without Alcoholics Anonymous and God’s grace and mercy. “Change Agents” at Blanchard gives me an opportunity to connect weekly with alumni and pay this sober life forward through service work, such as speaking to individuals currently in the Blanchard program, sitting in the same seats I occupied just months ago. I have struggled immensely in early sobriety, so thank you, Blanchard, for not giving up on me. 😁 I’ve attached a photo of myself on top of Crowders Mountain during my early recovery. If I can do this, anyone can!
This place is the best in the Charlotte area. Highly recommend. It’s a game changer, at least for me it was.
The Blanchard institute and their Alumni program is the best . They do such a great job at making people feel welcome and supported. My favorite meeting of the week is Blanchard alumni group. I love Blanchard
Blanchard is truly a special place. What stands out most is the genuine care, compassion, and commitment the team has for every person who walks through the doors. This isn’t a program that simply focuses on getting… someone through treatment—the staff works hard to help people build a strong foundation, meaningful connections, and a life they can feel proud of beyond treatment. The sense of community at Blanchard is incredible. From the clinical team to the support staff, you can tell that the people here genuinely care about the work they do and the individuals and families they serve. The continued emphasis on connection, family involvement, and alumni support shows that recovery doesn’t end at discharge. If you or someone you love is looking for a place where people are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, I would highly recommend The Blanchard Institute. The work being done here changes lives, and I’m grateful to be part of such an amazing community.
This place has saved my uncles life I would recommend this to anyone in need
Love what they do for the families they serve and all of their staff are super professional.
I would not trust either your own stability or your family members stability and recovery to this place. They will gaslight you and make you think that you are sicker than you are and need more intensive treatment than… you do. I somehow couldn’t manage to get clean time under them because of the way they would treat me and gaslight me and make me feel like crap but the moment I got out, I’ve sacked up almost 2 months of clean time Doing it on my own. And if you don’t fit the cookie cutter mold that ward Blanchard wants you to fit he will ensure you are kicked out and we have yet to receive back about $7000 we have invested towards our treatment so if that money is not receive back in the next 30 days, the courts will be become involved. That’s all I have to say do not say anybody here honestly, the news needs to come feature a segment on how much of a scam they are and I am about to reach out to WSOCTV and News 14 Carolina amongst others. They made it seem impossible for me to both receive treatment for my mental health issues, which I obviously needed health for and physical therapy, which I needed help for due to a brutal sexual assault in which a gun was held to my head and I can no longer even and start feminine products during that time in the month, let alone be intimate with my partner But oh no that interfered with their schedule too much so I couldn’t drop the Iop to have something that would better work with their schedule I just had to be completely kicked out after they wanted the credit card upfront. It would not refund the money. There is going to be a class action lawsuit sooner or later, and I will be on the witness stand to testify. PS, Lauren, Alexis, and Daniel, you all were the coolest people there and I have nothing personal against you three. It’s all upper leadership that my issue is with. They are con artists and if you value your jobs and really want to help people who are sick with addiction and get better like you once were when you were in our shoes, I suggest finding a reputable place to work where someone like Ward isn’t breathing down your neck and making terrible decisions for both the staff and the patients and being a money hungry decrepit. If even one of you were to leave and go work out more reputable place and reach out and let me know and you can probably figure out who this actually is for my post and reach out to me. I would gladly come try treatment there for the Blanchard Institute after three attempts is a no go. The first time I even enrolled was because I was court ordered But had I known what I know now even when my court case was dismissed and I just wanted to get better I would have looked somewhere else.
Our family has been on an incredibly difficult journey seeking sobriety for our son, and finding The Blanchard Institute has made all the difference. From the very beginning, their team has been compassionate,… empathetic, and unwaveringly supportive—not just for our son, but for our entire family. 63 days in, we know we still have a long road ahead, but we finally feel like we are not walking it alone. The clinicians and staff are knowledgeable, available when we need them, and truly invested in each person’s recovery. They have helped guide us through some of the hardest days we’ve ever faced with care, patience, and understanding. Knowing they are accredited and committed to high standards of care has given us additional peace of mind during such an uncertain time. We are deeply grateful for everything they’ve done and continue to do. I truly believe they will support us every step of the way to the end of this journey.
Treats your family member like garbage if you aren’t a perfect “cookie cutter” patient. Like duh?! We are all mentally ill and many of us, if not, most of us are addicts with not much recovery time under our belt or not… at all due to relapse. But instead of working with you, they make you think something is wrong with you and then they go behind your back and disclose HIPAA protected information that you did not sign off on on a to your family members. I mean my best friend has spent three hours tonight talking about the way they did her how they told her family member stuff that she specifically unchecked the box that they did not have permission to talk to her dad about and a certain staff member who is high up in the chain, still went and told her family member on the phone about her urinalysis results, which the client, my friend had revoked lab results and testing and drug screening is testing. From said family members consent form because she did not want them to know that information as she was embarrassed if she were a relapse and they found out. Then they are saying that she was disruptive to other clients during sessions. and I like how? Because I have spent days around this woman she keeps to herself if she’s not doing something productive she’s on her phone just scrolling and minding her own business. But they said that she was “disrupt refer to other clients“ and I don’t know how that makes any sense. From her take, she would get up and use the bathroom maybe once or twice a day as people do when they’re somewhere for eight hours, she would go over to medical and leave out the door of session when she was called to medical, but didn’t just go over there to hang out, she would get pulled for appointments for the same thing. She didn’t just go over there unless she was called out. And God forbid occasionally she might get up once or twice a day to fill her Stanley water jug or to make a tea with a tea that they offer on the counter right there Apparently in front of everybody. Was she disruptive because she had a fidget spinner, because there were at least two clients with the same ones, and three other clients, she said with other fidget toys. Or did you all have some specific vendetta against her? Well, the ethics board will be dragged in due to the blatant HIPAA violation You can look at the consent form where she unchecked for the specific family member, a parent, to have access to that information and a director or vice president or someone high up, who I won’t name by name, but know who it is went and told him that after I had just sat in her chair an hour before and said and please make sure you don’t tell him anything about my lab results. It’s not his business And I don’t give permission for it. I have revoked permission. She didn’t care they just want to suck your insurance a couple days at a time and then act like you are the cookie cutter clients blame it all on you and ask you to leave. And from what I heard before I even started the guy who is in charge of it, all founded, Ward, is an absolute jerk who has gotten enough of people‘s faces and screamed at them, according to other reviewers on Google reviews and seems to have a Napoleon complex about him or something, but clearly he is a mental health treatment more than my best friend or the other clients too. Hey man, you’re freaking projecting.
I’ve been sober for 9 months and 2 days. Never thought I could do this, but if it wasn’t for the Blanchard Institute, I’d still be drinking. They’re the best. Accountability in morning urine specimens was a major play.… It broke a terrible habit and craving. I don’t even think of drinking now.
Professionally staffed
Great experience. Combination of education and caring. Highly recommend !
Very helpful family workshops.
I enjoyed learning new and getting a refresher when it came to the materials taught from the Family Systems Workshop. Thank you to the team at Blanchard! Very organized. 👍🏽
Our experience with Blanchard was very disappointing and, in my opinion, misleading when it comes to mental health. My partner was struggling with trauma-related psychotic episodes and alcohol use. During intake, both… she and I stressed her mental health needs — yet she was placed in IOP 3 for substance abuse only. For three weeks she attended every session, but there was little to no support for her underlying mental health. They mentioned GeneSight testing to evaluate her medications, but it never happened. She also received no coping tools for her trauma or racing thoughts. When she inevitably hit a trigger and drank at home, she was told the only option was to step up from 9 hours a week to 35 hours a week of substance abuse treatment (PHP). When we asked about switching her to the mental health track — which is what we thought she had originally been assigned to — we were told it wasn’t possible. The director of the mental health program himself sat in on one meeting, dismissed our concerns, and gave us the line: “The only disease that tells you that you don’t have a disease is alcoholism.” But it wasn’t only my partner questioning the placement — it was me, the person who spends the most time with her. Still, there was no flexibility. After days of pushing, the director of the substance abuse program finally admitted their mental health program was “very new” and only taking extreme cases (like schizophrenia). That was never explained to us during intake or the first three weeks. Instead, we were told she must either attend PHP substance abuse full time or leave. She left, and Blanchard still billed us for 12 weeks even though she only attended three. The aftermath was devastating. She spiraled, drinking heavily every day. We had to start over from scratch — found her a psychiatrist who immediately ordered GeneSight testing (which showed her antidepressant was a poor fit), and connected her with two therapists (IFS and EMDR). With that proper support, she is now thriving: biking 10–20 miles daily, working again, and feeling better than she ever has. I wasn’t going to write this review, but after emailing the directors directly and receiving no response, I feel it’s important for others to know: if you are looking for real mental health care, Blanchard is not the place. Their substance abuse program may work well for many, but their so-called “mental health program” was not at all what was advertised — and in our case, it nearly cost my partner her life.
The Blanchard Institute has saved my family! Myself and another family member have been through the programs and are about to “graduate.” I cannot recommend TBI highly enough! Their unique strategic family programming… takes all the shame & blame off of those in the program and focuses on the family as a system and how to recreate function out of dysfunction. If you or a loved one wants or needs help, this program goes far beyond a 28-day treatment plan and empowers everyone in your inner circle to make positive choices which leads to positive changes in behavior which then leads to long- term recovery, growth and lifetime of success! ~Kristin K
I’ve never experienced the knowledge of why I am the way I am. I now understand! Scientific research, evidence based research and individual staff experiences has given me the opportunity, confidence and knowledge to… move forward.
Great place, and totally recommend. Not only recovery for the individual, but also support for the family.
Such a caring staff! Blanchard has helped our family reconnect. They are knowledgeable using current research.
