Treatment Centers in North Carolina That Accept Blue Cross NC

Blue Cross NC, the not-for-profit Blue Cross and Blue Shield plan based in Durham, pays for drug and alcohol rehab on its employer, individual, Medicare and Medicaid plans in all 100 North Carolina counties. Residential treatment, non-hospital detox, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient care need prior authorization, while buprenorphine is covered without it.

The programs listed below were gathered from government treatment registers and North Carolina facility licensing records, and accreditation appears where a program has it. Programs in the Triangle, Charlotte and the Triad appear alongside coastal and foothill towns. Filter by level of care, then match the program to the network on your Blue Cross NC card.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Does Blue Cross NC cover inpatient rehab?

Yes, when medical necessity criteria are met. The commercial residential policy uses ASAM levels 3.5 and 3.7 plus North Carolina's own residential categories, and requires a state-licensed, physician-supervised facility with registered nurses on site around the clock.

Sober living, halfway houses, group homes and wilderness programs do not qualify as residential rehab.
