Partial Hospital at Delta – Wilmington Reviews
A review of Partial Hospital at Delta does not need to be long. If you were a patient or a family member, a few plain sentences on what went well, and what you wish you had known beforehand, will help the next reader.
Awful. They seriously need to review and replace some of their therapists. Spent over a year with a therapist here, they just helped me undo progress and sink back into dissociation and extreme depression and SI. They… were not interested in me as a human being at all. They were invalidating, uninterested, etc. After 8+ months they couldn’t remember major facts about my life and knew nothing about me, giving me advice that literally did not apply, but worse when I tried bringing up personal feelings/insecurities they were shut down quickly, was told certain things won’t happen, was doubted and blamed for encountering triggers. Was WAY worse by the time I left, and they basically kicked me because they “didn’t think they could help me much more” (I was going to leave anyway so whatever, they didn’t help at all). They gave me some other places to look into, places that did not apply whatsoever and even places that no decent therapist should recommend. This whole thing is clearly just a job for them. Just checklists and “resources” you can look up online. I’ve been through the IOP/PHP as well and they’re not that great either. It’s not inherently bad, but it is ultimately just a classroom setting while the “lecturers” go through packets outlining “skills”. That said, they can be helpful for broad mindfulness and stabilization but that’s about it. DBT has limitations, and it can be harmful for cptsd if not handled well, and this place is NOT designed around cptsd at all. You will be treated like a child who is misbehaving, not an adult who has experienced trauma.
I've seen Julie Small, NP, for several years now and I have never been unhappy about it. Very kind, compassionate.
I highly recommend Delta if you’re struggling with your mental health. I have not met a single person here who hasn’t shown they are 100% willing to go above and beyond for you. Finding a good mental health facility is… challenging, which is why I consider myself so lucky to have found Delta.
I’ve called this place 2 times they’ve yet to return phone calls
After stopping by Delta Behavioral Health on March 25, 2026, I had decided to partake in their PHP program. Three days into the program, Stephanie (their licensed clinician*) asked me, "Are you using Google?". After… requesting clarification, it led to a conflict. I was forward to John (a superior clinician), which also resulted in a conflict and was ultimately forwarded to the Director (i.e. Ms. Lapointe*). I was hospitalized at Novant's New Hanover Regional Medical Center for depression after being made to leave the facility on March 27, 2026. The facility has refused to return multiple phone calls from myself and the hospital to multiple individuals at the facility. I also received a Lexapro prescription on Thursday from Dr. Toppin after receiving an inaccurate diagnosis. Dr. Toppin also called me for clarification this past Tuesday (i.e. March 31, 2026) and I still have not heard back after calling her direct line. I would not recommend this facility.
I filled out their form and emailed them twice. They don’t respond.
My review is about PHP. After a two week hospitalization I was transferred to do PHP here and let me tell you. DON’T DO IT HERE. I’ve been desperately needing contamination OCD treatment but all I could get was just… INTERNS. NOT EVEN ASSOCIATES, INTERNS… just harassing me over coping skills only wanting to talk about SH/SI. They barely would knowledge that maybe why I was SH/SI WAS BECAUSE OF HOW BAD MY OCD IS!! They were all little 20 year olds mad that you would question them. You’d only get one real individual session but it would only be about the stupid daily check in page we’d have to do. Most of it was just a childish classroom setting. Maybe DBT is helpful to some but not to OCD patients, or well at least it’s not at all catered to OCD patients whatsoever. If you aren’t blindly accepting every word, they consider you a problem and refer you to residential.. which best part, they sent me to a residential that was SUPPOSED to be an OCD one but it wasn’t! They half asked researched on referrals and just shipped me to it. Now I’m back to having absolutely no services again because they discharged me immediately. As for the famous Paige Houser.. I.. actually have nothing positive or negative to say. Definitely is a straight to the point, clinical woman. Definitely a “we’re not friends”. Type. Definitely isn’t the most judgemental condescending person though, those are the intern “therapists” leading PHP sessions. Paige for me, got to the point, gave me my meds, and go. Very neutral. Clinical. Like the most. And yes; this place absolutely treats you like a drug addict. I regret following up with them for my outpatient plan, I just wanted to get out of the hospital... Not this. Go else where.
Don't listen to the negative reviews about Paige. She is a fantastic practitioner. I've been seeing her since 2019 and she has always been helpful, kind, attentive and truly listened to me. She is not rude by any means.… She listens to all my symptoms, side effect issues and any problems im having with meds. I like Paige and enjoy having her as my med provider.
There needs to be more available establishments like Delta; PHP, IOP, counseling, trauma therapy, and prescribers who all work together with/ for you. They work as a team opening the door for more knowledge to assist… and guide you.
Great place! The therapists/providers are great people and helped me tremendously. Everyone was so kind. I highly recommend this place. Thank you again to the people at delta behavioral health.
I’ve been going here for quite some time now and can’t say enough good things about everyone I see, they truly care about their patients here and it’s taken me YEARS to find anything like this place and I can’t express… my gratitude enough to the amazing team that works here and has helped me through such a long journey of healing that I’m still continuing on ❤️ Thank you ALL for everything that you do from the bottom of my heart
I have been her 2 times and saw Paige. I came in recently with so much anxiety and had not really slept for a few weeks. Paige was so kind and compassionate. I left there feeling a lot better. They got me in at a quick… date. I would refer anyone I know to this facility.
The reviews about Paige are 100% correct. I was in the office with her as a new patient for less than 5 minutes and walked out. She was rude, unkind, and hostile. As someone who is supposed to be a “professional” with… mental health clients she needs a reality check that talking to people like that who are suffering is not okay. The fact she has been getting reviews like this for over a year and hasn’t been removed from the company says a lot about Delta. DO NOT GO HERE. Especially not to Paige. The whole establishment treats you like a drug addict and is very unwelcoming. The contract you have to sign to be treated by Paige was also very restrictive and sketchy. I hope she reads these and considers becoming a better person for herself and her clients.
I have a great team here at Delta! Second tour and I plan to continue my mental and behavioral health growth with them as long as possible. They offer a Free class once a week so you can stay in the flow, even after you… "graduate". They have Always been considerate of my needs, supportive of my goals...And they work seamlessly with my Insurance; where there's a will, there's a way! If you're looking for something familiar yet new; that next step after treatment, therapy or group...I Highly recommend Delta Behavioral Health.
Great team!
Paige Hauser is judgemental, condescending, belittling and disrespectful and I've never felt so low and humiliated in my entire after being in a room with her for not even 15 minutes
I’m so disappointed in this establishment after what just occurred. I have spent months and A LOT of money at this office seeking out care, and after today I am in shock from the behavior I received. The receptionist is… so rude and should not hold a customer service position. It’s like she has a vendetta, or some thing. Just no sympathy for people who are there for a reason. The office is telling me I owe a lot of money before I can be seen. When I told them I already paid that, they said no you didn’t. When I asked to speak to finance department they told me I had to call. I wanted a copy of records and they told me I had to call. Ridiculous. I drove all the way there to be told I have to “call” to get my records. I was seeing paige hauser and confiding in her confidently, and she blurted out my finance situation to everyone in the building. I trusted her, and she made me feel like dirt. I am in a lot of shock right now from the behavior I just received. Please seek medical/mental help elsewhere. This place is money hungry and could care LESS about your mental state.
👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 Horrible Judgemental. Not a safe place for those who suffer from CPTSD & severe anxiety Paige Houser is nothing but a judgemental BULLY
I honestly am mind blown by the bad reviews. Especially the ones about Paige Houser. For the first time in my life I feel like I have found someone who is kind, compassionate, empathetic and CARES about my mental… health. She actually LISTENS to me and is patient and truly kind. When I went to the hospital for a severe panic attack she even called me immediately the next day (on a Saturday!) and made sure I was ok and got me in asap. Do yourself a favor and don’t listen to the bad reviews. This woman saved my life and continues to do so in which I will be FOREVER grateful. This is coming from someone who has major depressive disorder, panic attacks anxiety disorder, PTSD, and ADD. This nurse practitioner and all the staff at Delta want nothing but to help you get and stay well.UPDATE AFTER OVER A YEAR; I went to the hospital because I was suicidal after having gastric bypass. My body changed and I had been telling Paige I needed a med adjustment but she didn’t do anything but send me for a 600 dollar genetic test tbat just said I was on the right med not the right dosage. I get to the hospital and it was a literal NIGHTMARE. They doubled mu trintillex though thank god. I get out of the hospital and Paige treats me like I went for detox. Totally stripping me of all my meds because I won’t go to a class three hours a day three days a week. I’m in school, and work full time and see my therapist once a week. I pay them for help I’m not there on some court order jesus. So I get a letter in the mail saying she’s taking me off my controlled and everything. Because I was never tested but I was TESTED FOR FOUR MONTHS EVEN MY DAUGHTER WENT TO ONE OF THE APOINTMENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN TESTING ON ME. She sent me to this specialist. She likes to play games and if you’re her favorite she will throw any medication at you you want. She is the one that put me on these meds to begin with. Which were needed. My diagnosis from the SPECIALIST TESTING WAS MAINLY ADHD, ANXIETY PANIC DISORDER, MDD, OCD, And PTSD IN THAT ORDER. I can’t even get my non controlled filled now. She’s not a good practitioner and I wish I had seen the truth sooner.
This was my first time going to a mental health place in several years now. (I didn't have the means to until now.) The doctor I saw was very nice, and even listened to me when I got off topic. (When I am super anxious… I do this on accident trying to give explainations for my answers.) I have severe social anxiety & anxiety in general; and going to the doctors can make me super uncomfortable; but this place was amazing. Delta has given me hope that I will be able to live a good life again! My best friend has been wanting to me to go to a concert, and now maybe I will get to do that with my new treatment. ❤
I see Paige Houser at DBH and I could not have asked for a better provider. She's incredibly understanding and takes care to work with my insurance so I don't get bankrupted into oblivion for seeing to my mental health.… So easy to talk to, doesn't speak down to you, very kind. I used to always get bad anxiety before mental health-related appointments because of shallow consideration in the past from providers , but Paige puts you as ease and makes you feel comfortable about being vulnerable. Super lucky I found her, couldn't imagine going somewhere else
I absolutely adore DBH! I have been seeing Paige Houser for years for my medication management, she actively listens, she's personable and professional. I have never had a medical professional that I 100% trusted and… knew they would be completely honest with me until Paige, she's so understanding and accommodating. She has helped me out in a pinch and also took the time to find the right medicine to treat my unique set of diagnois ... I am beyond thankful for her! I have been a part of the DBT program and have seen a therapist at Delta for years in the past and I have nothing but the highest respect for everyone at Delta. From Ms Kim at the front desk who is always willing to help to the amazing Mandy who has walked me through insurance paperwork more times then I can count to my personal therapist who has always be there to encourage no judgementally and talk through any crazy situation I've had...and of course can't forget John who has cheered me on as I reached each of my mental health and sobriety goals. Delta is truly a blessing and has been there to support and walk me through some of the hardest times in my life.
