usually when i come here it’s a pretty good experience but this time The receptionist at the front desk was very rude. I had an appointment at a different building and mistakenly thought the office was located in the… hospital. When I told this older lady who i was there to see, her tone and demeanor were very rude and unwelcoming and she acted like i was stupid , mind you i’m already nervous for my apt when i asked where i was supposed to go she pointed in a general direction and i still needed to ask someone else for directions . I understand making a mistake, but there was no reason to treat me like I was stupid for being in the wrong place.. if you are going to be at the front desk … the first person people see and talk to when they walk in let’s maybe be nice ?
I took my dad to Mena ER(7/28/2026). Checked in with registration and completed paperwork at 8:50 PM. Finished with triage nurse at 9:05. The nurse didn’t give her name, she indicated it would be a wait because they had… a full house. 1015 PM I asked the nurse for a urine specimen cup for my dad, both nurses were eating. I returned the urine specimen cup and labeled it for the nurse. I included the time of 2227 when the urine was collected. Dad asked me to go to Wendy’s to get him coffee and something sweet. I was at Wendy’s at 1039. I returned to the hospital and asked the male admission person what the long wait was about. He tried explaining that they had a full house, the lady that checked us in said the doctor would see patients at his discretion. The male admission clerk tried to reexplain her rude comment. One of them commented that once you go back it is at least 3 hours before you leave. 11:10 Mike arrived with my medication and a blanket for my dad. Shortly after Mike left my dad decided to leave. At 1217 AM I was leaving my dad’s house heading home. It was the oddest experiences, there were no people leaving (being discharged and no one waiting)
They don't care about your medical health they just care about money that's it if you can go to Hot Springs anywhere but this place
After an off-road motorcycle accident that messed up my knee I went to the ER. I’m not one to go to the ER (or the Dr very often). I couldn’t have been happier with the experience. They were fast , kind and professional… . I’m sure there are times when they are busier and slower but my experience was great . I live 300 miles away and dreaded going in but they were great. Hopefully the ER isn’t in your future but I felt great with my experience and am glad I went .
I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews but this place is ridiculous. Not only has their lab mixed up and made mistakes on bloodwork, they have the lab orders labeled under the wrong doctor even after I pointed it out. I… missed out on a week of work due to their error. More recently I came to the ER with my father. The doctor said he was going to write him a prescription and he could go home. An hour and a half later….we are still here waiting while people are sitting at the desk doing nothing. I only say doing nothing because I can hear the sounds of messages being sent on FB messenger at the desk. I asked a nurse twice when we were going to get out of here and she didn’t even look me in the eye. She walked around the corner saying “I’m not sure” while she went. Then I went to the front desk to ask another nurse what the hold up was and her answer was “well there are other patients” which DUH I know that but there’s absolutely no reason why he should still be waiting here an hour and a half later. I think what happened is they forgot we were back there and then they gave me attitude when I got irritated when they forgot us. After I got a little irritated with the blonde nurse behind the desk they magically produced his RX and discharged him which gives me the impression that it could have been done a lot sooner.
Dr.Rocha and his surgical team are amazing. My after surgery care in L&D was top notch. My nurses were so caring and attentive!
Highly irritated! I went in lastnight 02/20/2026. Had kidney stones. I dont always show pain, nor am I a damn drug seeker. I know what drugs are for what because I work in Healthcare also. I had dr khalal or whatever… the freak his name is, I really dont care because I dont want him ever taking care of me again! I know my rights! Tell me why after the so-called stronger meds and im still alert and aware and in pain that you'd turn around and give me Tylenol via Intravenous. I said the damn pain was at 6/10 because you thought I was stupid enough to think that actually helped. I wanted out because I knew u assumed I was drug seeking. I know how having medical works, if I dont have the damn discharge papers and choose to leave I'd have to pay a pointless amount of money for a pointless trip to the ER! You didn't help fix a damn thing. Then on top of that pointless bill, I would have to send u money for nothing because thats how the damn system works. U get paid for assumptions. I was there for 6 hours. Id say more but im too upset! Not happy with this visit! I'd rather have Swonger, he is amazing! Swonger shows empathy, sympathy and is very caring. From now I'd rather call ahead of time to see who the doctor is and if its not who I want then I'll travel to a different facility. The only good I got out of this was that the chick with the colorful pretty hair and Junior were the only two people that treated me like they cared. I did state I didn't sleep due to this pain and could hardly walk. Dont you think I spent so much hours crying that my cheeks were raw red from wiping that I was trying extremely hard NOT to cry in pain. But after being fed up with the BS of feeling like you thought I was only there for the drugs, I was still in so much pain and hobbled up out of there WITH my discharge papers. Learn to learn you patients. Too many doctors dont do this! SWONGER IS THE VERY FEW GOOD DOCTORS AND WE NEED MORE LIKE HIM! SWONGER IS THE ONLYYYYYYY reason why Im giving a 2 star rating. As for Swonger alone, 10 stars plus!
My father had an accident and went to mena, he had staples put in his head and they didnt clean it, now he has cellulitis. Also he has a torn rotor cuff ( damage to his muscles and tendons) and they didnt diagnose that.… I would not ever go to this hospital. Also my wife gave birth there 4 year ago and it was the WORST experience. This hospital does not care about you, only about your money. If i was dying I think id rather die then go there. Its like that.
Don't really care for this hospital, especially in the ER you have to wait forever. Staying for more than a day nurses are great, never get to see the doctor except maybe once a day I don't specifically like that..… definitely need to do better
The Mena Hospital and its staff made my stay here quite comfortable. I might add they have a good crew in the kitchenn as well.
Went in last night. Was treated amazing. Even after being lanced very respectful. So proud of our hospital here.
Everyone that helped me tonight were wonderful caring people.....
Very nice, and quick. So far so good.
I cannot recommend these folks highly enough! They are kind, professional and thorough. This was my 2nd experience with PT and these guys knocked it out of the park! I thought for sure I would need surgery and it looks… like, because of their commitment to my care, I am going to be able to avoid that! I am so grateful to James, Jonathan, Hanna and Kyle. Bobby and Bee are awesome as well! 5 stars for sure!
Needs more staff more quality care
We are TOTALLY PLEASED with and grateful for ALL of the staff at the Mena Hospital, especially the staff of the Senior Behavioral Until! The staff in the ER upon arrival were attentive and thorough and very kind. Our… mom, age 84, was inpatient there for 2 weeks 5 days and EVERYONE worked tirelessly to help her heal from 3 fractures she had when she went in. Dr. Hudefi is a wonderful doctor who took so much time on the phone with us explaining everything we needed to know to understand what we were going through. The nurses were very knowledgeable, kind and caring. The CNAs were loving and patient and caring. Our mom was very well taken care of. The social worker was a crusader for our mom and worked days on end to help us find a wonderful place for Mom to be cared for. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. God bless each and every one of y'all! Love, Phyllis, Bill & Deby
This is an awesome place. I've been treated well at many hospitals but this group was the best. They were friendly, caring, and informative. Highly recommend.
I would give negative stars if it were available. The staff is insanely rude and they are allowed to do as they please by the management. This is the worst experience I have had. This hospital is poorly run by… incompetent, rude , nasty people who care nothing about your heath.
they are terrible, they left me waiting there forever and they rude as hell. i wish i could give 0 stars. the nurses suck the doctors suck too I HATE THEM SO MUCH I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN
Dr. Swonger, the triage nurse, the admitting person and the radiologist were all very friendly, quick and informative.
This place is a giant joke!
The health system is great. Billing department is severely crap. Call in the morning like everyone else. I was woke up 2hrs early for my nightshift job because I was contacted at 7 pm to let me know I owe money. Would… gladly give 0 stars but that option isn't available yet. Fix your system!!!!
I had to make an emergency stop here while on vacation . The craziest thing happened a bug flew in my ear while riding the trails . It was the most terrifying time of my life . The Drs and staff were nothing but… amazing!! They took me back immediately and took the time to calm me down and get it out. They assured me that everything was gonna be ok . I give them 5 stars and 10 if it were available . Beyond impressed !!
I’m giving two stars on the Medical Records Department. I’ve been helping an older couple who are both hurt and unable to leave their home. They needed records from an ER visit to take to a doctor appointment and were… unable to physically come to the hospital to request the records. I volunteered to pick up the records for them. They called the record department and found out they had to fill out a form and provide a signature and a drivers license. There was no option to fill out the form electronically. I took off work twice to make trips back and forth between the hospital and their home (in total it will be about 80 miles and six hours). When I returned the signed paperwork and copy of the drivers license to the records department, the woman in the office proceeded to argue with me about the signature not matching the drivers license (the patient can barley move his arm right now so his signature looked different). Then she went on about the boxes that were checked- the couple talked to the office while filling out the paperwork to make sure they were checking the right boxes- to take such an argumentative stance when there had been multiple touch points requesting the information and going out of the way on the part of the patient to get their records was beyond frustrating. Being lectured about HIPPA (we all know what HIPPA is) while trying to accomplish a task quickly so I could return to work was beyond maddening. Provide a portal, a docusign option, and don’t give lectures about HIPPA and why your job is so freaking difficult while the people you serve are taking off work and turning cart wheels to follow your process.
