Henry Ford Maplegrove Center – West Bloomfield Detox and Rehab Services
Henry Ford Maplegrove Center – West Bloomfield is listed as running detox, residential treatment and intensive outpatient. Withdrawal is managed under clinical observation before other treatment begins, which matters most in the first seventy-two hours for alcohol and benzodiazepines. Day programming is scheduled, with evenings spent at home. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.
The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. Approved medication is paired with counseling and regular review. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

Records give the address as 6773 West Maple Road, West Bloomfield, Michigan, 48322. West Bloomfield sits in Oakland County. The catchment reaches beyond the city itself. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.

Wonderful place..
The people that work at MG are Angels!!!! Very professional, giving & caring!!
It's been 17 years of a clean and sober living and it's because of this outstanding rehabilitation facility and of course by the Grace of God. Whom I believe led me to Maple Grove in 2009. If you are serious and want a… life better than ever imagined you should consider this facility. Good Luck to All! Addiction Recovery is possible, and all starts with a decision.
Understaffed and overcrowded. This was a special place before. Now it's just a cash cow for Henry Ford Health. The gymnasium is the new focal point. It has replaced psychological therapy and introspection. If you're… twenty something maybe it's the answer for you.
The woman worker's are awesome and understanding! I did have one incident where I was trying to get my meds and became augmentative because I didn't receive my meds. She apologized and we made up! The meals are awesome… they have real chefs, the staff is awesome! The beds suck! The game is awesome and we got outside time! They gave me my clothes which was awesome! It gets cold in this building on cold days! T.v. time and interactive building skills which was enjoyable! The staff is severely understaffed and overworked! We all understood that and appreciate the staff!
It get worse after rehab.
Best start to recovery, highly recommend Maplegrove
This place was truly amazing!! The staff made you feel at home and my therapist was great! I highly recommend this place!!
Just got discharged today great experience and staff !!
This facility and its staff are unbelievably compassionate and knowledgeable. They truly care for the well-being of their patients and go out of the way to make sure everyone gets the care they need in a friendly and… respectful manner all the time. The negative reviews almost made me reconsider Maple Grove but I'm extremely relieved I didn't listen. I gained 10 lbs in 5 days lol the food is everywhere and unlimited 😅 extremely generous and courteous please go here if you need help, you will be doing yourself a huge disservice if you go elsewhere.
Amazing Staff, Grateful for the care and the ongoing support.
Kristen (nurse tech) is a rockstar!!! She not only empathizes with the patients but she understands what the patients are going through on a personal level. She makes you feel heard and understood. I would not have made… it without her.
I called for help and they expected a $3500 down payment. I have private insurance and medcaid. If anyone is looking for help for themselves or a loved one, look up the P.I.E.R Also know as Addiction Treatment Center in… Travis city. They saved my life. They had me in next day, no questions about money, very clean and very nice staff. Dont waste your time with this place.
It seems to be a wonderful place to detox. My Husband was there and did very well inside and for 6 months after GOING TO MEETINGS online and back at maple Gravemeetings on Sunday. until he decided to hang out with… others from his group playing sports at maple grove or hanging out with others that have the same issues . Or even getting calls and text messages ibelive should not be the right choice to be doing. Going to Meetings with them is one thing. its been said you need to stay away from addiction people or places that could bring you right back. So now hear he is back in again and it all started when he went back to play valley ball lissoning to there sad storys is a real let down.I understand KEEPING BESY EACH DAY IS GOOD but please keep it with in Rehab .If you are out of rehab you need to just focus on yourself and the meetings not making new friends with the same issue. DOESN'T WORK IN MY BOOK... ALSO MEN SHOULD BE WITH THE MEN NOT MIXED WITH WOMEN. BOTH MINDS THINK DIFFERENT AND REACT DIFFERENTLY. I have not yet heard any meeting that the speaker was willing to confront someone And tell them to there face the facts about there actions and what its done to them and people around them. It seems to be a fear factor .I mean by that is they need to hear the truth what what they are really saying and if its for real .It's not a feel good meeting go to church for feel good. Most of them at the meetings including my husband are layers making them self look good in front of others to make them self feel good. I could be wrong but this is what i have seen at my meetings also .i have gone to 6 meetings online for soport. I think another addiction to add with all of addiction is a narassist yes some a big % of addiction people are narassist If you focus on that maybe they will see it's ok to be wrong at what they did,do or want others to see. It's all about what brings them up and back down that's the issue. Every one Need blance. Yes it's a sickness and they have to face it and go on just like people with any other life treating disease doing what needs to be done to live as long as they are willing. It's not easy but thankful for places to go like Maplegrove was one of the best so far. but needs to change it up pay attention not just to the medical issue but the human person inside and out Side of the box. Just my thoughts Thank for your time.
Nearly died here bc they wouldn’t treat my alcohol withdrawal. I came here in the midst of very serious alcohol withdrawal. I had had a seizure once before so I decided to go to a treatment center where I thought I… would get the proper medications and be safe. I told them my history and that I knew a seizure was probably imminent. After waiting two hours in a room (panicking bc I felt like I did before the first seizure) they finally sent a doctor in. The doctor was very cold and uncaring. I knew from my previous experience that the treatment for withdrawal is spaced out doses of Ativan (or similar benzodiazepine) and sometimes anti-seizure meds or blood pressure meds (which I need anyway for my hypertension). Instead of the normal treatment this doctor gave me some medication that was supposed to prevent seizure I guess (not Ativan, Librium or Valium) and left before I could ask her any questions. They told me to stay in my room and relax. By that point I was shaking, sweating, vomiting, limbs numb, dizzy. I was hoping that the medication would kick in but it never did, an hour or two went by and I kept getting worse. Started to hallucinate, my hearing was messed up, everything sounded muddy. I went to the desk begging to see the doctor. They said there was no doctor on sight now and they couldn’t give me any new meds without the doctor. They took my blood pressure which wasn’t super high yet (probably bc of the bp meds I took before I came) and told me to go back to my room and “relax.” At this point I was really feeling like I might die. I tried to wait in the room, but eventually I had to try again bc I was so scared. I was trapped there unable to get help. After several times of going to the desk saying “I’m going to have a seizure” I started talking to the other patients there and asked what I should do. They were really nice and went up to the desk with me saying this girl needs help. Finally the nurse said he’d give me gabapentin which may have helped had they given it to me sometime earlier in the 6 hours I’d been there, but it was too late. Don’t remember anything after that bc apparently I had the seizure there at the desk. Woke up in the hospital, with my tongue all bitten up, amazed I was still alive. Those were the worst six hours of my life and I don’t want anyone else to have to go through that. If you are sick DO NOT go to this place, go to the hospital. I’m sure not all rehab centers are this bad, but really the hospital is your safest bet. You can go to rehab after you’re done with detox.
The most amazing staff and recovery program around. They literally saved my life. Everyone working there from the janitorial staff, the kitchen staff, and all the nurses and techs sincerely care for each patient like… family. You will get out of it what you put in to it. Much love to you all. Thank you!
LONG POST! If you are on the fence about seeking treatment, I beg you - GO! Maplegrove is an oasis in the desert. I wouldn’t be here today were it not for this very special place. The staff are angels; they will treat… you like family and will always give you a shoulder to cry on. Comfy private rooms and bathrooms, fantastic food, 24/7 support for whatever you may need. The days are scheduled so that you can attend meetings, lectures and activities and still have plenty of down(nap)time. 🙂 Specifics: (this would have been helpful to me when I was debating going into treatment) First - yes they are going to take your phone, but you have scheduled times throughout the week that you can use it, and there is a phone room where you can make outgoing calls anytime you need to. It sucks at first, but after a day or two it’s honestly a relief to be without it. You’ll start your day with breakfast if you choose, or you can sleep in and grab a bite from the pantry which is always stocked with food, snacks and drinks. After breakfast you’ll get your vitals taken and get your morning meds. After meds there is usually a community meeting, speaker or activity. You can pick and choose what to attend; full attendance is always encouraged of course but you don’t have to do it all if you don’t want to. I went to everything because I genuinely enjoyed it, but if you’re feeling poopy you can opt out and just chill in your room. (Bear in mind if you’re really not participating your insurance company can drop coverage. Or so I’ve heard.) After the morning activities you’ll go to lunch, after lunch there may be an outdoor walk or activity scheduled, again you can choose to participate or not. After that you’ll go to group. Group is for men or women only, lasts an hour and a half and is a great opportunity to get your feels out and make friends. There are daily yoga classes, art activities, a little library, and a therapy dog named Bravo who will steal your heart. 🐾 There’s also a cute little shop where you can get toiletries, candy, books, even stuff like leggings and pjs. And Phyllis! Phyllis takes care of everything related to FMLA, medical leave, insurance etc. She is also the shopkeep and a truly awesome person. She’ll get you your disability coverage and pop you fresh popcorn while you wait. 🙂 There is free time in the afternoon during which you can go to the gym, sit in one of the massage chairs, read, or hang out in the lounge. There are separate lounges for men and women stocked with puzzles, games and books, as well as an outdoor balcony that looks onto a small lake. My favorite downtime activity was sitting out with a book and watching the deer and the hummingbirds. :) The lounges also have tv’s, so every night the girls and I would pick a movie, make popcorn and chill until bedtime. Maplegrove was not at ALL like I expected. I assumed everything would be mandatory and that they’d keep you busy all day long but that was not the case. This is a retreat. It’s a gift. You won’t want to leave when it’s over. Blessings and good luck! You can do it.
Absolutely saved my life. I love that they bring in multiple support groups, as a nerdy engineer-type who had never been religious, I never would have guessed in a million years that good old-fashioned AA was the one… I’d fall in love with, but that’s what’s happened. Just passed 16 months clean and sober, my health has improved tremendously, and I’m living a life I never could have dreamed possible when I checked myself into Maplegrove, half-dead, in late 2022. The 12 step promises are true - “you will be amazed before you’re half-way through”
0 stars! My wife was there 3 times in the last year. It seemed like a good place. Now she needs to go back and they told her to find a new place with no explanation or reasoning. Been calling for days and no one will… return our calls. Is it because our insurance benefits are maxed out? What type of place claims they’re there to help people but ignores them and leaves them in pain while they try to find alternatives? Treatment only with better insurance it seems…..
I had a seizure here because the doctors didn't believe me. I had to stay more time and got charged double by my insurance because I had to be brought to the hospital because of the seizure. Also, one of the MHAs, on my… first day, said "get up and do things your insurance isnt paying for you to sleep". I'm detoxing and My insurance should be doing their job. It was not a good vibe.
I came to Maplegrove in the fall of 23 with some heavy baggage. I had low expectations due to some unsavory circumstances at other inpatient facilities. I’m proud to say that Henry Ford Maplegrove exceeded my… expectations. The reason I was originally interested was due to the fact that they provide private rooms for every patient on the unit. Facilities are clean when you arrive and maintained daily. Once arriving to Maplegrove, you are greeted by some of the kindest staff members i’ve ever met. Before entering, a covid-test is given that may take up to 3 hours, so plan ahead. After that, you’ll meet with a tech who will perform a search, take vitals, and conduct a small assessment. My first day in detox, I don't remember too much, but I do remember the compassion that was shown to me by the techs and nurses who knew nothing about me but knew everything about my struggles. The techs, made me feel welcome and comfortable as I was introduced to the facility. The nurses, made sure I knew that I wasn’t alone. The first couple of days most of us sleep, shake, and sweat and, while this is uncomfortable, the staff are trained to handle withdrawls, monitor vitals, and talk you through cravings and psychiatric issues. On the first day of treatment, for the first time in years, I finally felt like I was safe. The second or third day of your visit you should start doing the groups that are provided. Maplegrove will keep you busy if you let it, and your insurance is being charged for lectures and group therapy anyway. The weekends can be kinda slow sometimes, but for some that free time is necessary. Most weekends, Tuesdays, and Thursdays you’ll be allowed cell phone time for about an hour. And if you think an hour isn’t enough to catch up with friends and family, you still have the option to call your people in the phone room which is open, everyday during free time. Activities are abundant. Yoga, Volleyball, Ipads, ping pong, tv, art, reading, and socializing are just a few. Not to mention the four massage chairs that will make you wonder why you ever drank in the first place. Most days the recreational therapist, Crystal, offers super fun and meaningful activities that you can tell she puts thought into. Meals take place between groups and activities at 7am, noon, and 5pm. And the food is pretty decent with nice variety, healthy/vegetarian options, and a killer salad bar. A fully stocked pantry is also located on the unit and open 24/7. This is a non-smoking facility! If needed the nurses will provide patches and gum to curb cravings. You are assigned an individual therapist who you meet with every other day for about 30-45 minutes, as well as a group therapy session that takes place everyday. It ranges from person to person but I saw my psychiatrist about twice a week, he was able to start me on a routine that has been serving me well. The medication lines are probably one of the only downsides however, with people waiting over two hours sometimes to get medication. There are AA, NA, and SMART speakers who come in to explain their programs, however, no one tries to recruit you to a cause. Sometimes these meetings can get repetitive but I promise you that you will learn something new each time. Lectures are another great plus. If you open yourself up to them you are given the skills to remain sober. Take notes! Keep in mind that there is no visitation. The last thing I need to mention is that every staff member there are what make Maplegrove what it is. I have so much gratitude for the staff of Maplegrove. You can tell that this is more than a job to them, you can tell that they care, and you can tell that without them, your recovery wouldn’t be the same. Huge thanks to the techs, nurses, therapists, janitors, cafeteria workers, and each employee that steps foot in that building. Thanks to them I'm confident in my ability to continue my recovery. This place gave me back myself and that means the world to me.
It was amazing ! No complaints by far Just so thankful for this place. They are all amazing staff.!!!
After taking 3 days to get in which causes unneeded stress and anxiety they made us wait in the parking lot for almost 3 hours for covid test which again more unneeded stress and anxiety this gave my husband enough time… to second guess himself his anxiety finally got the best of him and he walked away.pretty sure this is not the way addiction should be handled we were looking for help not more stress
I ran out of my prescription on Thursday, had an appointment on Friday but it wasn't refilled (by accident) its Tuesday & I'm still trying! I feel like hanging myself!!
Went to Maplegrove back in 2016 and had a wonderful experience. My insurance didn't work out, but they let me get comfortable before referring me to a program in California. I've since graduated this program, I have… stayed sober, and have been working for this in the field for 5 years now. Only complaint is that I have been trying to connect with someone on their outreach team and its impossible to get ahold of anyone! Id love to come in and speak as an alumni as well!
