Summit Psychological Associates Inc – Akron Detox and Rehab Services
Summit Psychological Associates Inc – Akron is recorded as offering intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.
The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. Medication and talking treatment run together under clinical oversight. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

Summit Psychological Associates Inc – Akron Address, Location and Contact Information
The site is at 37 North Broadway Street in Akron, Ohio, 44308. Akron sits in Summit County. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.
It is worth calling first to confirm access, parking and the shape of a first visit. Remote appointments may be possible where travel is a barrier. Admissions lines are frequently busiest early in the week, which is worth knowing if the first attempt fails.

Summit Psychological Associates Inc – Akron Reviews and Ratings
Families searching for treatment in Akron often start with reviews. If you were a patient at Summit Psychological Associates Inc, or supported one, sharing how it went gives them something real to go on.
Going through the child welfare system was one of the hardest experiences of my life. After I lost custody of my son, I was required to complete both a psychological evaluation and a parenting assessment. I passed both.… The written findings stated that I was psychologically fit, but I felt that parts of the evaluator's narrative included personal opinions rather than sticking to the documented facts. What stood out to me was that even during the case, the legal professionals involved acknowledged concerns about the evaluation. The attorney representing Children's Services commented that the evaluation came across as very cold and harsh, and my understanding was that they chose not to rely on those recommendations because of how the report was written. Another thing that bothered me throughout the process was the language that was used. Instead of referring to my child's father as my child's father, my boyfriend, or my partner, the paperwork repeatedly referred to him as my "paramour." Whether it's a legal term or not, I found it to be cold, unnecessary, and demeaning during an already painful experience. Thankfully, the court recognized the difference between the objective test results and the evaluator's subjective impressions. Today, I have custody of my son again, and I thank God every day for that. I also know how different my story could have been. If I hadn't had a social worker and supervisor who were willing to do what they believed was right, I truly believe the outcome could have been much worse. This is my personal experience. Every case is different, but if you're involved in a child welfare case, learn your rights, keep detailed documentation, complete every requirement, and seek legal advice if you can. Don't give up fighting for your children if you know you can provide them with a safe and loving home.
Forces poor people into their program when they don’t need it, and then kick them out for them being poor and making them start over
These are the same people who are contracted through summit county jail. They do an absolute terrible job there. Look up inmate suicides and attempts. Many lawsuits against them. Personally I have had encounters with… them and was totally blown off or ignored. Long story short I was an attempt statistic .I have been to other psych places and I now no the difference between good quality of care and bad. This place is bad, actually horrible.
Unorganized, is a understatement. Not an inviting environment at all. They don’t pay attention to the reason you are there. Then waisting your time and money for this place, it took a while but they did refund my money… spent. ADVICE stay AWAY!!
We've all had a year to adapt and adjust to covid. Summit Psychological management team has failed it's patients on so many levels. Their doctors and counselors fail to keep online appointments. Office staff is… non-existent. Calling them is useless. No calls ever returned. Yet again out of the medications they prescribed with no other options. Don't go here.
They do not follow up and call when appointments are scheduled, they do not return calls, doctors and nurses practitioners are quitting left and right. My counselor is also no longer there and I haven't been scheduled… with anyone else. I'm leaving messages daily with no returned call.
DO NOT GO HERE! This is the absolute most unprofessional service around. You can never get ahold of anybody, wait 5+ days to get a call back. They’ve been through over 5 doctors in a year because everyone keeps… quitting. Staff is very rude, they made we wait 4 days without meds before they sent my refills. If I could give negative stars I would. Absolutely horrible, don’t waste your time here!!!
Trying to get a hold of your provider and getting a response for refills is like trying to baptize a cat...
They'll fail your psych test and never tell why due to their biases and prejudices. Basically, they get to happily ruin people lives and give no legitimate response except for prepared one that tells you nothing.
The only reason this place is getting 2 stars is because of the counselor I’ve seen there. She genuinely seems to care. However, if you need medication, this is not the place. I’ve had three nurse practitioners quit… without telling me so they just cancel my appointment and I run out of medication. Then you haven’t been medicated for weeks and they put you on something you’ve been on already multiple times. I’m on my fourth nurse practitioner now and none seem to care about what you think at all. They’re always right. Plus no one answers the phone for literally anything.
No one answers the phone. Messages get ignored. Medication doesn't get filled. And give no receipts if you pay your bill.
The wait time is between 1 hour to 3 hour's. The Doctor has no respect for the clients time. They do not call in medicine on time. They also do not call you back. Very disappointed in service and care. Do not recommend.
I don't like to see negative reviews on a practice that gives so much of itself selflessly for the well-being of so many. I've read the reviews of the others and while everyone is entitled to their opinions, please note… that in my experience, none of that has ever happened or I would have noted it by now. Please feel at ease and comfortable with a recommendation to Summit Psychological Associates and their many services and programs.
Terrible inconsiderate, immature staff. Trying to get a hold of someone on the phone is not even worth the try. Waste of space.
I think that the staff cares about the clients. Most of the staff. The doctors also care about the clients. You get what you put in, as with anything in life. If you don't invest any effort why should anyone else. I… think that they offer I wide array of services as well as different times that they are able to be compatible with an individuals schedule. The only problems could be with communication if you need to get a hold of a specific person or when a phone call needs returned. Sometimes it can take a long time or it may not get returned. Also the unnecessary paper work. A lot of the paper work may not be needed or necessary. But this will happen with any state run facility. It is more for legal purposes. Also most are not paying any way so you should not have that big of a issue of filling out papers for a free or reduced cost service. I would recommend this place to others in need of their help as it has helped many people better their lives in many ways. I also think that they do a good job at what they do..
This place needs completely new staff. For people who are supposed to specialized in treating people with mental health issues they really don't seem qualified in the least.
Classes are a waste of time. Be careful, they do not tell you all the costs up front. They prey on kids who have been court ordered then take advantage, because your stuck between a rock and a hard place. When you try… to talk about with billing, they are rude and condescending.
