Geisinger Behavioral Health Center NE – Moosic Detox and Rehab Services
What Geisinger Behavioral Health Center NE – Moosic offers, on record, is residential treatment and partial hospitalization. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. Which of these is appropriate depends on an assessment, not on what sounds manageable at the time.
Combined treatment is not recorded, which is worth checking before committing. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

Geisinger Behavioral Health Center NE – Moosic Address, Location and Contact Information
60 Glenmaura National Boulevard, Moosic, Pennsylvania, 18507 is the address held. The city lies within Lackawanna County. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. Journey time and parking are not trivial details when treatment runs several times a week over months.
A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. If getting there is hard, ask about a remote first appointment. Reception hours vary, so a call that goes unanswered once is worth repeating rather than treating as a dead end.

Geisinger Behavioral Health Center NE – Moosic Reviews and Ratings
Have you or a loved one been treated at Geisinger Behavioral Health Center NE? A few lines about admissions, the staff and what happened after treatment ended can help another family in Moosic weigh the same choice.
This is Ron Palmiter I have been out one now. Doing pretty good. Not taking it day by day but moment by moment and that works well for me. For myself I'm so grateful and thankful for the doctor and the amazing staff.… You all have been such a big help to me and helping me feel better about myself. I am back to work 2 weeks now and not only my wife but the people I work with see a different me. I will always be grateful and thankful for everyone. God blessed me with the wonderful care a was given. God bless you all Ron Palmiter
My cousin passed away here, and they waited 4-6 hours before calling for help. He was only 31.
My experience started in the Geisinger Wyoming Valley ER, where I checked myself in because I was experiencing suicidal thoughts. That part was rough. I walked into a place because I needed help and, unfortunately, felt… more like a criminal than a person in crisis. Once I arrived at the behavioral health center though, everything changed. The intake nurse was a breath of fresh air in an otherwise incredibly dark moment. She was kind, gentle, patient, and compassionate. I could tell she genuinely cared about my well being. I imagine she carries that same compassion for everyone who walks through those doors. Once I arrived on my unit after midnight, the nurses and staff gave me my humanity back little by little. After feeling like a criminal in the ER for asking for help, they reminded me that I was a person first, not a diagnosis, not a problem, and not a liability. I could name several people who made a difference, but honestly, I’d have a hard time choosing. Everyone I encountered seemed to genuinely love their jobs and, more importantly, genuinely care about the people they were there to help. Is the program strict? Absolutely. You can’t smoke, there are plenty of rules, and there are a lot of things you simply aren’t allowed to have or do. But after my first day, I understood why. The structure exists for a reason, and when you’re in that environment, you begin to appreciate it. Food ain’t so bad either. If I ever find myself in crisis again, I can say without hesitation that I would walk through those doors again. I would choose this center over sitting in an ER feeling like a criminal any day. And I have to specifically thank my case manager, Philip. He was fantastic. More than anything, he helped me learn to trust someone again. Everything he told me he would do, he did. That consistency meant more to me than he probably realizes. To everyone at this center who helped me when I was at the lowest points of my life: thank you. Genuinely. Wholeheartedly. You reminded me that needing help doesn’t make someone less human. Sometimes, it takes someone else treating you like a person to remember that yourself. I am forever grateful.
Since yall can not return calls. Enjoy the publicity! Ill come back in update this in detail once court is handled!! Contact me ASAP! I will not email you. Return my calls! Its been about 3 days since a case manager has… attempted to return one of my calls. I was physically on the grounds yesterday and the man at the front desk refused to help me
Some positive interactions, but overall terrible. Will be filing a grievance.
I stayed here voluntarily and it was a massive mistake. I was searching for relief, for help, but Dr Malik took me off of strong medication which put me into withdrawal while he was also refusing to address my anxiety… issues which had put me there in the first place. I would never go here again for help, especially if you are struggling with suicidal ideation. They will make it worse and reinforce to you that you are less than human while staying there. Food was good, two of the therapists were good. There was one good nurse
Some nurses are awesome here but most of them couldn’t care less about what they do. There is a night shift nurse Ron who works overnight most of the time who is awful very rude and always smells like alcohol and… nothing is every done about it I would not recommend this place to anyone
Received a tour from Rachel Schor. Very detailed and informative!
This place is hell for kids who don't even need to go here it's like jail.
Bullied, gaslighted, and harrassed for 7 out of 10 days there, cruel doctors and staff, one of the therapist spreaded my personal info around even to the other patients, it was a cruel experience, if you are a kind… person i don't reccomend going, they won't help you they only care about money and nothing else. No one even felt a need to call a stop to this mob bullying instead more played along.
I was there voluntarily. The staff for the most part were fantastic, except for the night nurse Genna. She acted like she was on a power trip and often was mouthy and dismissive. The doctors were deceitful. They told me… a med they put me on to help me sleep would stay at the low dose since it was working, only to find out a day or two later that it was increased behind my back. If they had more honest doctors I'd have given the place five stars. The groups and the therapists were great. I do want to give the psychology therapist Nolan Bartley a big shout out. His groups were awesome. He made me want to learn. If I didn't live so far away, I'd have him for my counselor.
Geisinger made sure that my level of understanding and care were unmatched. This was clearly treatment at my own level at my own time. I wasn't discharged until I was better or until I was ready. Endurance gave me one… on one care about my feelings and thoughts. Thank you Geisinger staff, Thank you endurance
This Review Is Coming From A Family Member Not The Patient. Of Course Any Human Being Does Not Like To Have So Many Rules And Regulations But They Need To Have Them For The SAFETY OF EVERYONE! The Best Security People… Were John and Keegan They Showed Kindness and They Seemed To Have The Empathy Of What We Were Going Through. This 1 Month Was Very Emotional and Physically Draining Because I Tried To Visit Every Single Day. Sarah Was The Best Nurse She Made The Time To Answer All My Questions and Gave Full Explanations On All The Pills, Milligrams and What They Were Used For Which Helped Me Understand The Process That My Cousin Was Following And What He Was Going Through. My Cousin Got Discharged After The Month, Went Straight To The Berger Office and Was Seen By Lieza the PA-C And So My Cousin Will Be Seen By A Psychiatrist To Get Better Balanced And Then Hopefully Keep Balanced! AMEN 🙏
Positive experience. Got the help I needed in Serenity. The people were 5 stars. Food was 4 stars.
Nurses are just as crazy as the patients .
I went there thinking it would help but when I was there the staff was really rude and since they have to check on us every 15 minutes the one staff Jaylyn would be on her phone on those tablets and put her phone on top… of the tablet. They say “you’ll feel safe here” but I definitely didn’t because they took like 20 minutes to get to a patient who had a seizure and then another patient had chest pains and it also took them 20 minutes to get to him. I was there from 11/20/25- 11/27/25 basically a week there and I didn’t like the rules but it’s whatever at that point
This place really changed my life and got me back on track. The staff were kind, caring, and truly did their best to help everyone. I want to give a special shout out to my therapist, Tony; he really understands what I… needed, and without his support, I wouldn't be where I am today. I also want to thank Shelby, Jerry, Bri, and Christian, along with the incredible team, including Dr. Smith. I appreciate all of you—pH, Colleen, Denis, and of course, Mother Goose. I would definitely recommend this place—10 out of 10! Love you guys, and thanks for never giving up on me. One last shout out to Nurse Bella, Kim, and Emma; I didn't forget you either, Sandy. I hope you're all doing well. Thanks for everything—you are all unforgettable!
I was in Reliant Unit. Please note that it's a whole facility to consider and there's many different sections/Units. As for Reliant the staff was extraordinary. Once you get past the whole I just want out of here and… focus on yourself getting better, you see the beauty of the facility. The staff, food and overall care is great. I will note that there are many things that need fixed or changed. 1. Phones Phone times are often at bad times and it seems to be getting worse. The phones are whisper quiet, and as I have hearing aids it was awful. I had one hearing aid turned all the way up and the other turned off and was still unsuccessful in proper communication. I had to repeatedly request to use the nurses station facility phones and after 4 days was finally granted access by a supervisor. However, it wasn't permanent access, it was just for that occasion. In order to use the phone again I had to notify the nurses when I would want to call, and they would have to get clearance AGAIN. Phone times would overlap horribly. For example, a phone time of the Reliant Unit is 11-12, but Lunch is at 11:20 so you'd have to decide whether you would go to lunch or call someone. You could make a quick call and go to lunch. If you didn't go to lunch they would bring you back a meal but it's not the same as going and choosing what you eat as well as getting another sitting. Also, when I was leaving there was talk of eliminating 2 sets of phone times, 3-4:20 pm, and 9-10 pm. I won't know if this is implemented of course though. The phones are literally jail phones. The length of cord is like a foot, not even... It's frustrating to use on top of the whisper quiet problem. 2. Groups While groups are effective there was many repeat groups which doesn't hold the same effect as the first time. Yes, I do understand that there are new people cycling in practically everyday but it felt annoying. 3. Rooms The rooms are very clean. Each room has their own shower and 2 beds, for you and a roommate. However, the shower don't drain right and fill up on you while showering. The beds are jail mattresses. They do "Environmental Safety Checks" (ESC), which are essentially room checks. Which is good to do on a suicide watch unit.. but it feels invasive and is annoying to go back to your room to find stuff moved or missing. Gonna end this now since I just realized that I don't have my hearing aid charger... Which obviously is a MAJOR PROBLEM!
There was an incident that put everyone who is already on edge extremely uncomfortable. The person should have been removed immediately from that ward. The nurses could only do so much so someone higher up should have… done something. That was absolutely unacceptable. We were/are there for help and safety and we all were feeling very unsafe . We looked out for each other. We realized he needed help too but he should not have been in that unit. The nurses and those who led the groups were wonderful. Nolan and Sandy were my favorite group leaders. Please resolve the issue we had and don’t allow it to happen again. I can only give limited info because of HIPPA. I left on September 12/25 and the problem wasn’t resolved. The place was clean and the food was pretty good.
My girlfriend went there voluntarily to get off the lithium and when she wanted to sign out after 3 weeks they INVOLUNTARY 302 HE FOR NO REASON Staff are very disrespectful and rude they treat the patients like inmates… restricted phone calls disrespectful and rude to guest and patients THIS PLACE SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND SHUT DOWN intact inmates get treated better then the patients trying to get help I'm looking into a lawyer right now I'd give it negative 10 stars if I could
I so agree with Miss Wesolowski I had a similar issue. One security person and the supervisor were rude and disrespectful people I had to deal with and her supervisor is not much better. The people should show more… kindness. I was finally ask by the supervisor to leave because they didn't know what a waiting room is used for and what I tried to explain. I was finally asked to leave. She also kept asking me who I wanted to see. I did not tell her since I was asked to leave "which did not make her happy." I wish I could explain more in detail.
If I could rate this a zero I would. What an awful experience, I was treated like a prisoner when I was the one who brought myself in.
An overall awful experience. The staff were incredibly insensitive to me, and didn't care about my needs
Don’t expect to know anything about your loved one’s care don’t expect to help make a the care plan when they want to leave don’t expect anything from this horrible facility they didn’t call me for five days as my wife… was in there and I had a newborn I called and went there every day to learn nothing had nobody call me till I called freaking out. They told my wife they do not have a care plan for her because she didn’t want to be put on meds one of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had in my entire life and Chris graffi has avoided my calls and requests for a meeting to address the situation they cost me thousands while trying to make sure my wife got good care and have had no response to the situation but a letter saying sorry and they will address it with the staff it’s amazing how much they could milk your insurance your well-being is not their concern The money they make off of you is They left me at home without knowing anything with a newborn, straining the relationship between me and my wife, even worse
The staff “security” besides Mr Mike are incredibly insensitive and rude. Asked one man how he likes his new job. (Just started) His response was it’s just a job. If this is just a job to you I suggest you go work at… McDonalds because this isn’t just a job this is supposed to be help and every person and patient that walks in this building should be met with consideration.
I’ve had the best experience in this facility. Nurses and therapist truly go above and beyond to help their patients. There’s a few things that should be addressed and I would love to get a hold of someone who I can… discuss this matter. In my experience I got the best of help except for one of the BHA’s associate who always walks around like she hates her life and speaks to you as if you were her enemy. People like this shouldn’t work in this type of environment at all. Thank you to those who truly care and go above and beyond to support others.
