Unfortunately I know someone close to me that went here. They were kicked out for a dirty urine when they were honest. To me recovery isn’t just about how long you stay clean, but it’s also about changing your attitude.… Someone that used to lie told the truth. That showed big changes. Instead of using a fake urine like other people there they told the truth. But I guess that’s how life is right. Cheaters win… If someone tells the truth and wants to get help, then they shouldn’t be kicked out. Just upsetting to me how things were handled there. But hoping they help others!
If you are seeking help through the system or independently, I highly reccomend this place. Melissa and Jana have not only been a part of my recovery journey, but have quite literally helped me shape the person I am… today. Keep in mind, you get out of this program as much as you put in, and they will support you every step of the way because they are passionate about not only saving lives, but helping people thrive and maintain what they have gained during their recovery.
I can’t agree with this having 5 stars. Some of the counselors are good , I will say that, but I was once discharged because i asked if I had to take a urine And told them in the same sentence I would come up positive.… On one of my various stints there I had been attending intensive out patient (3 2 hr groups per week and an individual session)for over 7 months and was not stepped down to out patient( 1. 2 hr group and 1 individual session per week) At the time I needed to complete the program to obtain my license which in my opinion they prevented me from doing . After I was incarcerated I went to Mid-Atlantic recovery services (MARS) and literally had the same thing happen in regards to using and asking if I was going to have to take a urine and I was not discharged my counselor thought it best if I stayed an extra month . In total I was at MARS for 4.5 months completed and I now have a license thanks to them . For the fact that I did not lie and tell them what they wanted to hear I never completed their program.
