Cenikor Foundation – Houston Detox and Rehab Services

The register shows Cenikor Foundation – Houston providing residential treatment and intensive outpatient. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.

Combined treatment is not recorded, which is worth checking before committing. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

I just left this amazing place! Nervous not knowing what to expect not wanting to be there. I did 21 days. The 21 days there was life changing. I will always be grateful for this place and the counselors and the staff.… Met some people I will never forget and my counselor Cody most importantly. The deep convos we had the way he changed my thought process. I’m sure there are better places but this place won’t disappoint you. Thank you family for changing my life ! Adam

My daughter was recently admitted and I’m so hopeful she will have a positive and life changing experience here. I’ve heard this place has good vibes and helpful staff. I believe she’s in great hands and am excited for… her future now that she’s getting some fundamental assistance. I will update with a secondary review after she’s completed her recovery there and give more details at a later date. The facility looks clean and engaging for a young lady here age.

If you’re looking at the reviews to see if this is a good place for you or your kids; ITS NOT!!!! It was horrible for me I was 14 when I went in the SOME of that staff are nice like my counselor Ms.Loran but the staff… that would watch us in the day room was absolutely full of herself and would be rude to anyone of the kids anytime she possibly could i forgot her name but there was some nice other lady that would be in there with us but it’s super easy to runaway and they hardly do anything to find you and gosh the beds they were absolutely the worst it felt like I was sleeping on the floor and my first 3 days there they didn’t even give me a pillow and the blankets are super thin and uncomfortable ALSO the staff would try to FULL ON argue with the kids there. only thing I liked about it or even appreciated was the kids I met in there AND THEY TOOK MY CLOTHES my dad had spent $500!!! on my clothes that I needed for their dress code and I had OVER 20 things and I only received like 5 items they took my TOOTHBRUSH?? like what.. absolutely hated this place and they didn’t even help me “recover” worst rehab I’ve EVER been to. Do not recommend going here.

First impressions: First thing I noticed was the positive energy emanating from various staff members. Everybody seemed HAPPY to be at work (about 4-5 staff members). That's always a good sign of a good work space.… Second was a very low adult:teen ratio (many adults to few teens) which let me know there is very little chance for missteps with resident whereabouts; and as an added bonus, there were zero adults using cell phones! Third and most important was the professionalism and knowledge of the young and thorough intake officer D'Mani. She spoke with such mastery and courtesy and reassurance, that I could actually exhale at the notion of leaving my most precious part of me here-alone, that is, without a family member. At this initial visit I feel confident that my family member will leave this facility emotionally and psychologically better than when he arrived✝️.

Why doesn't Odyssey respond to comments from people who complain and are upset, only responding to positive comments?

If I could give negative stars I would. My son has been there 17 days and has had one fight and run away. He is currently missing as of 8-31-25 and they dont stop these kids from running. The worker i spoke to said my… son and 4 other children ran when the gate opened up to allow a car in. The doors dont lock the kids inside and there are several reviews of kids going missing on here. Do not send your kids here. I pray I find my child alive and well because if he isnt there will be consequences. I dont wanna hear "im sorry" I want my son returned safely and out of these careless people's custody. I trusted you to watch over and care for my child and you LOST him. The facility has a fence around it but otherwise the kids can get out if they buzz a car in. ITS NOT SECURE

This is from moms perspective so take with it as you will. My kids in and out of mental health facilities right now and rehab was a new pill for me to swallow. I will say the ONLY good it did was convince her these were… not the kids she wanted to be around and NOT who she wanted to be. So it scares her straight in a way for that I am grateful. The NURSE and the care staff seemed amazing. They were very nice and caring people but Jose and the staff you ACTUALLY speak too are TERRIBLE! My kid got admitted on Thursday even after a complaint to corporate I didn't get our WELCOME which had the contacts for everyone until 9 days AFTER admissions. Shes already discharged and I never got our admissions paperwork that I NEVER signed. The Director was a joke and NO help. Oh, and as discharge? I got no paperwork for an excuse to school! I got no paperwork for follow up care? I got NOTHING! ON top of that when I called I was told it would be $25 to request ANY OF THE INFORMATION I NEEDED FOR THE EDUCATION MY KID WAS DOING THERE AND MEDICAL RECORDS?!?!? WHAT?!?!? The ONLY one I will say who was helpful was the Nurse who I will brag on because he was helpful and nice answering the phones even when he wasn't at work to deal with me because he was the ONLY number I even had. It was sad and HE DESERVES A RAISE!!! I doubt there are better centers but honestly it's not that hard to give out the welcome packet and admissions paperwork 🤦🤷 or email them when you say your going too... I don't think that takes a rocket scientist

The odyssey home is where you come and get away from everything so you can better yourself. you may not like it all while your in there but deep down you know it’s doing you better mentally and physically and showing… you how strong you can be when you finish the program all the staff are great people just have the same respect you would want towards you. Everyone isn’t gonna have a perfect day every single day but you gotta focus on why your there and what you need to do so you can go back home and spent time with your family cause when you in there you start thinking about all the stuff yoh missed out with your family and how much of a privilege it is to have your family around but you don’t notice that till your in there and see how much time you been playing with your life there is a privilege for you to become great within yourself you just have to put the work in and show your family that you can make a change for once in your life. Thank you for all the staff who helped me get thru it there are the realest people you could meet in there I promise you. -Gabriel O Gee 💯

My kid went there and the “12 foot fence that nobody can get over was climbed by my 14 year old son with a 40 pound bag in his mouth, there is fighting and many other things that go on there and the staff don’t seem to… care my son ran to the police station because he was scared to sleep there all they did was place him somewhere else for the night and then put him back with the same group of kids the next day. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!

If I could leave a -100 star review that’s what I would do. Do not send your children here! They do not care about the rehab rehabilitation or recovery of your child! My 15-year-old daughter ran away twice in a 30 day… period. They tell the children that they can come and go as they please and if they run away, they do not go and chase after them. Why would a place tell an addicted? Why would a place tell an addicted child that?! My daughter was missing for 10 days with active police investigations open. When my daughter was finally found, and I went up there to get her belongings, they allowed all the Other residence to steal her belongings and then sent me home with belongings that didn’t even belong to her. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!!!!!!

I was a patient here, staff was excellent, accountability, staff was patient, kind, truly cared, and were helpful. They even allowed for a church called the EXIT church to come and have church with us, and hold a place… where we could worship and get to know Jesus and because they let that happen I am beyond grateful to God and odyssey house. As well as The Exit church. I was transformed by God in this place. I got away from all the distractions and noise that was killing me slowly and got around people that loved me and would hold me accountable here, i still connect with people there to this day. Odyssey house was amazing for me. I really enjoyed it there, and I was changed walking out of there after 67 days. I was a lonely, angry, bitter drug addict, who had nothing but hate and wanted himself to die and everyone else around him walking in there. But walking out I had a new heart, mind, body, and soul. I wanted nothing more than to love people, to forgive people, to be patient and kind. To forgive myself and move onward to loving God and loving people and connecting with others, and serving love, I walked out of Odyssey house as a kid who wanted nothing more than to talk about Jesus, and not drugs, sex, fighting, money, or anything else, instead I had new desires I had never experienced before to be merciful and kind and to let go. I had new desires to truly love my family and all those around me after leaving Odyssey house. Shoutout to Mr. Roy, Mr. K, Mrs. Denise, Ms. TT, Mr. Moore, Chef C, and all the other staff that helped me along the way.

Taking on the responsibility of trying to help kids is major. This facility is doing a great job, doing the actual work of saving the lives of children who may not yet see the value in their own lives. These kids need… and are blessed to have a place like Cenikor’s Odyssey committed to helping them change their lives.

My experience with this facility has been exceptional. The staff is highly skilled, compassionate and dedicated to providing the best care possible for kids who struggle with addictions. They offer a wide range of… evidence ~ based programs tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, ensuring a personalized approach to recovery. The faculty itself provides a safe, supportive structured environment, where children can heal and grow. Beyond addiction treatment, they focus on developing life skills, building, self-confidence and fostering emotional resilience, which are essential for long-term success. I was particularly impressed by their commitment to family involvement recognizing that recovery is a collaborative effort. The open communication regular progress updates ensures that everyone is aligned and working towards a common goal. I highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking an effective and compassionate rehabilitation services. It is a place where Hope’s restored and positive transformations are truly possible.

I was admitted in the Odyssey House in November of 2023 and successfully graduated the program in February of 2024. I was there for 95 days, and it was a true eye opening experience for me. Like most substance abuse… rehabs the client has to want it to work in order for treatment to truly take place. All of the staff are wonderful people who gave me insight that I still live by to this day. Also even after graduating the program I still keep in contact with Mr Roy the Recovery Support Specialist. I am truly blessed to have had an experience at the Odyssey House and will forever remember what I have learned there. Thank you Odyssey House.
