El Paso Psychiatric Center – El Paso Reviews and Ratings
Services, insurance and licensing for El Paso Psychiatric Center are set out elsewhere on this page. Reviews cover the part no register records: how patients and their families found the care in El Paso.
Several accounts that describe the same thing tell you more than a single strong opinion.
I am writing this review to warn others about a severe failure in patient safety and professional judgment at this clinic. Prior to a loved one’s appointment, I contacted the office to inform them that the patient was… experiencing severe depression and acute suicidal ideation. As the legal Power of Attorney, I explicitly requested that the clinical team handle this information discreetly for the patient’s own safety. Instead, upon arrival, Dr. Shetty immediately informed the patient that I had called ahead. Despite being presented with clear evidence of an immediate mental health crisis, the clinic refused admission, failed to contact emergency services or law enforcement to initiate a wellness hold, and allowed a severely unstable individual to simply walk out the door. The lack of crisis intervention, complete disregard for actionable safety warnings, and failure to exercise a basic duty of care at this facility are deeply alarming. If you or a loved one are facing a critical mental health situation, I strongly advise looking elsewhere for competent, safe medical care.
I just want to say that it’s very difficult to look for mental health help in El Paso and there’s usually a waitlist you get put on.. but I was able to get an appointment fairly quick here. Even though I was very… skeptical because of reviews and this being my first time, I feel so relieved and glad that I came here! Dr. Schetty was a blessing today and I genuinely felt like I was being listened to. I’m happy I took this step towards my mental health journey. P.S. front office girls were nice, but they do seem busy so I can see how some may see that as ignoring. Patience is key. 🙏🏽
As of late January 2026, there have been 464 high-confidence fire alerts reported in Mexico. This number reflects early-year, satellite-detected activity, and while it indicates active, ongoing fires, the total is… considered normal compared to historical data from previous years. Active Incidents: While 464 alerts have been logged via VIIRS (Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite) as of late January 2026, the specific, real-time number of uncontrolled, burning wildfires can change daily. Context: These initial 2026 numbers are within the expected range, following a 2025 season where 6,996 wildfires were recorded across the country as of late December 2025, according to a National Interagency Fire Center report. For the most up-to-date, real-time information, it is recommended to check official Mexican sources like CONAFOR (Comisión Nacional Forestal) or satellite fire monitoring services such as Global Forest
This place tried to diagnose me with a condition I didn’t have on behalf of the Veteran Affairs Administration without due cause and contrary to other statements of their own doctors. This behavior constitutes medical… negligence and abuse of a disabled person. Shame on these people for playing a fictitious agenda.
They really screwed my life up last year. I have no idea why but they put people in here that have had a stroke. THAT'S NOT A PSYCHIATRIC ISSUE. BUT MOST OF THE PEOPLE THAT WERE IN THERE WHEN I WAS IN THERE HAD HAD A… STROKE. THEY THOUGHT I HAD HAD ONE. BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT IT WAS. I HAD A BRAIN BLEED BECAUSE I HIT MY HEAD 6 WEEKS BEFORE IN MY HOME IN ARIZONA. On my way back to Arizona from texas, the brain bleed finally got to me I guess. Didn't know I had it. I was physically disabled for years prior to what happened to me because of bad back surgery. They wouldn't listen to me. They were so insistent that my physical disability was due to a stroke! The staff members don't listen to the patients! They also didn't get my medical records from Arizona. They didn't give me any of my regular medications. PlusIf they did they would have found out that I was supposed to continue taking antibiotics for an infection in my spine. I've been in the hospital for a month with a bad spinal infection. Then I was released to be on antibiotic medications for 2 months. But I had a mental block because of PTSD because of bad hospitals in Arizona. They put in my medical records that I have chronic heart failure, definitely don't, and also that I have dementia, definitely don't either. I didn't know that they had put that in my medical records until I tried to get life insurance 6 months ago. I went to a cardiologist and proved that my heart is fine. And my primary care doctor realized it was obvious that I don't have dementia either. If I did I certainly couldn't write this! I had to fight to get the hell out of there. And now to top it all off I've never gotten a single bill. Never got a phone call nothing. And now I have 517 bucks in collections on my credit report because of this damn place. The employees for the most part are nice. (Day shift) Except for the three psycho nurses that work night shift. If you have family members in there, rescue them and get them out!
It has been a while....since this But it's a pretty nice place amazing staff super wonderful they even have a patio with a beautiful garden 🙌 but definitely never coming back all though they do have some amazing staff… which I will never forget ✨ Dope🔥 Top Favorite ✨🔥Not gonna say names but brown guy tall with glasses black hair brown with beard brown eyes, tall guy glasses Jesus guy how to be more like Jesus book dancing at the Halloween festival, short girl curly hair , Hispanic bubbley girl sweet ,J,C,and A? Anyways cool 😎
This place is very corrupt. I went there and thought I was going to get compassionate care but I got none of that. Doctor K basically rushed me out the door on my last admission. I was only there for a week. They knew I… was still manic and hallucinating and still they let me go. I hate doctor Christopher muncha and I have a valid reason. When I got admitted I signed consent for like 5 vital mental health medicines. When I got to the unit after signing all the paperwork I was told I would only be on 1 medication trazadone and it didn't even work. The doctors put in an order for no emergency medicine over the weekend and I seriously needed something to help me with the hallucinating and anxiety that comes with it. They only do emergency detention orders just make themselves look good even though they can revoked it at a moments notice.
Outstanding customer services for every mental condition
Well all I can say is that my adult child suffers from Schizophrenia and goes into psychosis often however we recently used this hospital. The psychiatrist here wants to help and has done better than most facilities.… It's about getting the meds stabilized in a person. However, often people don't understand that it's a the illness that makes things complicated in a person's phsiologogy make up of what meds are compatible. In saying this a good Psychiatrist will look through the patient history and allergic reactions to meds and will make the best appropriate decision in helping the patient to be comfortable and safe without any addictions to certain kinds of meds in a bad way however, only what is needed. From my understanding I know I have had the doctor there help my adult child to recover as best as they can. When the meds are unbalanced for whatever reason we take him here to get them balanced. There are legal regulations in every hospital and a patient's right are we work with this information so do they. So the patient gets the right treatment in meds. I know the level of care they can do and understanding mental illness very well. However everyone mental health is different. I believe in the psychiatrist here to make educated trained decisions. I always pray 🙏 they continue to make the best recommendations for each patient.
Very good experience with the staff and professional.
The admissions crew (Andrew, Jordan, Priscilla) are amazing. They displayed exemplary care in their work and treatment of patients. they are a shining example that there are still good people in this world.

I tried to get a workplace accommodation, my experience with Texas Tech psychiatry was disappointing and disheartening. Texas Tech Psychiatry refused to issue a FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) and denied me, a… disabled person, a second opinion, speaks volumes about the lack of compassion and professionalism in their approach to patient care. Despite presenting thorough documentation and medical history outlining the need for FMLA accommodations, Texas Tech dismissed my request without due consideration, leaving me to be terminated from employment due to my own serious disabilities. In addition to their dismissive attitude, their refusal to engage in open dialogue and explore alternative solutions reflects a fundamental lack of commitment to the Hippocratic Oath and the principles of medical ethics. Patients deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, irrespective of their medical history or perceived level of disability. By denying me the basic rights afforded to individuals seeking medical assistance, Texas Tech failed to uphold the core of their profession and caused me harm rather than healing. In conclusion, my experience with Texas Tech psychiatry has been nothing short of disheartening. Their refusal to issue FMLA and denial of a second opinion shows a troubling trend of indifference and neglect within the mental health care system. As a former patient, I ask that they reevaluate their approach to patient care and prioritize compassion and empathy in their practice. I cannot recommend their services to those in need of genuine support and understanding.
It's a great place; they always take my daughters there and they take very good care of them.
The "psychiatrist" I saw spent the entire apointment googling things on his phone and reading me articles. He seemed to contradict himself the entire time and switch between me staying on my meds and getting off them… completely. Their "gradual" method to get me off my medications was to cut my dose in half for a week and then stop cold turkey. I called my primary care provider after this appt. to switch to a new psychiatrist and they informed me that not only did they did not have a record of the doctor I saw being at this location but he is also NOT A PSYCHIATRIST.. he works in internal medicine.
Something weird and evil in these walls …. I would go to UBH
No patients friendly or customer friendly, DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE A VETERAN. No good parking No friendly personnel No understanding of VA health care insurance You will not be seen at the time of the appointment… about 15 to 30 mins after.
If you want mistreatment of any kind go seek help from them. The worst place to ever go if you are suffering from any type of mental illness. My word of advice is NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. DON'T TAKE ANY FAMILY MEMBER… HERE THEY'LL PROBABLY VIOLATE EVERY RIGHT OF THEIRS AND YOURS AND MISTREAT TREAT YOU AND THE PATIENT IN EVERY SINGLE WAY POSSIBLE.
I struggle with mental health problems like PTSD, and I never felt like I had the right care until I was an inpatient here. I feel like the doctors, social workers, most nurses and PNA's, and even the maintence staff go… above and beyond to make the patients feel comfortable and SAFE. There are some staff that probably aren't the best fit for this place but I will not discredit the rest over just a few bad apples. I have not been to any other psychiatric centers, but I can say that I was at the best place. They make sure you are taken care of once you leave with outpatient services. It was a smooth transition for me and that really shows how much they care. The drs listened to my needs and worked with me to find the right medication instead of just giving me the heaviest or most intense based on the diagnosis they see like other drs at other clinics do. Patients have a voice here and to me that is everything. I wouldn't be where I am if it wasn't for this hospital. If you ever need help, I definitely recommend you check yourself to this one if you can.
Called this morning for a well being check. I understand HIPPA laws but my family member is severely mentally ill. I understand they can’t confirm if she’s there due to HIPPA but when I asked if they can get a message… to her SAMANTHA IN ADMISSIONS hung up on me without getting the patients name, my name, or my call back number. No reason at all to be so rude to a concerned family member. I would like a call from management.
THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. AVOID AT ALL COST!
Worst accessibility parking for patients with disabilities. They save accessible parking in the back for their employees, patients definitely not a priority.
Fallon de la Riva she is amazing I totally recommended this clinic
