Burning Tree Recovery Ranch – Kaufman Address, Location and Contact Information
Records give the address as P.O. Box 757, Kaufman, Texas, 75142. Kaufman sits in Kaufman County. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. Public transport, parking and the length of the journey all affect whether someone completes a course of treatment, and they are worth settling before the first appointment rather than after.
Call ahead to confirm directions, parking and what a first appointment involves. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. Reception hours vary, so a call that goes unanswered once is worth repeating rather than treating as a dead end.

Great staff who really care about people struggling with addiction. One of my family members went through their program and she is 2 years sober ❤️
If you or someone you love needs help, get it. I mean that. I attended Burning Tree Ranch in Kaufman, TX for just under two months in the fall of 2025 after multiple detoxes and many prior short-term programs. I was a… client, not a referring professional or business partner. I left and have since gotten to a much more stable place. This review is not written from crisis. It is written because the gap between what was presented and what I experienced was large enough that I wish someone had said these things clearly beforehand. When I later raised the discrepancy, a senior leader’s response was essentially, “We got you here, right?” There were genuine positives. My individual counselor was excellent — the best part of the experience. Some other staff treated people decently, and I met at least one client who said he needed and wanted the long-term structure. I will not pretend those things did not exist. The problems were structural. The program was presented as roughly a year; the actual continuum is closer to two and a half years. Outbound communication with family was tightly controlled — calls monitored and restricted, and my first letter home had to be read aloud to the group. At the same time, the facility maintained its own channel to my family. During detox I was directed to turn banking access over to my father, being told it was to prevent me from taking someone else from the facility and leaving with them. At times the facility went into “shut down.” Clients could not speak to one another, enforced even without staff by using confrontations so people would call each other out. During shut-down the chairs were placed so we were in continuous physical contact, bathroom access was tightly controlled, and the “corner” chairs were highly sought after because they gave a little space. I never agreed to give up my physical autonomy, including the freedom to use the bathroom when needed. They also removed coffee during one shut-down; when it returned, the clinical director said something like, “Your bodies are craving it, it feels good, right?” I watched them take drawing away from a client who used it to regulate. Seeing him later leave in an ambulance the second time he ran is a big part of why I’m writing this. Daily confrontations significantly increased my anxiety. Staff repeatedly referenced my military service with variations of “What about this is harder than being in the Army?” For someone with significant anxiety, that combination of confrontation and control was extremely difficult. A program that presents itself as dual-diagnosis capable should take this more seriously. When I asked to leave I was held 48 hours, then dropped off at 3 p.m. in Dallas behind a homeless shelter that would not take me because I just wanted to go home. What keeps me on track now has nothing to do with fear of that facility. It is the knowledge that I will one day give an account. I’m at peace with what I have to say here. I was lucky enough to be born to the best parents a man could ask for. They supported me through a very difficult time, and I love them for it. I’m not telling anyone to avoid treatment. If you need it, get it — just go in with open eyes. Families should ask hard questions about total length, completion rates, how communication with family actually works, and what happens when someone wants to leave. The place is not what the marketing suggests, and the cost of discovering that after arrival is high.
I convinced someone to go here, and packed them up. I was on board the entire experience. These five star reviews are mostly fake, posted by specialists who refer people here. This is a 2-2 1/2 yr program, not 8 mos.… And It is virtually no contact. It’s a prison where they yell at you, make your roommates time your phone calls. And generally gas light them and your family into keeping you as long as possible. Google the Stanford experiment before you ever trust anyone with this type of authority over others. Residents have no choice but to oblige and have no way to communicate with loved ones un monitored and uncensored. Don’t do it, plenty of similar programs who don’t play games.

Burning Tree Ranch truly changed my family’s life. My sister attended the program over a decade ago, and she has been sober ever since. She has built an incredible life for herself, she has a beautiful family, strong… relationships, and is truly happy. I am so grateful for the role this program played in her recovery. It gave her the tools and support she needed to not just get sober, but to stay sober. My family and I will forever be grateful for that!
As a fellow professional in this field, I can confidently say that Burning Tree Program stands out as an exceptional program. Their level of care is truly unmatched—every interaction reflects deep compassion,… intentionality, and a genuine commitment to long-term recovery!
The people at Burning Tree Ranch are truly a blessing for our family. My son arrived there after years of opioid addiction. He had been in and out of multiple rehabs. We tried everything to help him. We were exhausted… and brokenhearted and lived in fear of losing him. Our lives had also become unmanageable. My son has now been sober for a year and a half. He has a great job that he loves and for the first time he is completely financially supporting himself. My life has also changed. I'm in a supportive al-anon group and I have learned a lot about addiction and also the part we played in enabling my son. The staff and counselors are experienced professionals. It's tough at first but I thank God everyday that they are there to help families like ours.
Burning Tree Ranch provides a level of care and accountability that’s hard to find. Their team is deeply committed to longterm recovery, and it shows in the structure and consistency of their program. I’ve seen the… impact they can have, and I would confidently recommend them to anyone seeking serious, lasting change.
Burning Tree Ranch is not an easy place, but it’s not supposed to be. This is long-term treatment designed for people who have tried everything else and feel completely out of options. I was at the point where I was… dying, unable to stay sober for more than a few months, and Burning Tree gave me the structure and direction I needed. There were many times I was asked to do things I didn’t understand or didn’t necessarily agree with. But the truth was, my own way wasn’t working. I had to surrender and trust the process. The staff here is dedicated, experienced, and they pushed me in ways I couldn’t have pushed myself. There are negative reviews out there, but I believe many of them come from people who simply weren’t ready to surrender or follow directions. This program isn’t for everyone, but for those who are truly desperate and ready for real change, it can be life-saving. Burning Tree saved my life. I am happily sober today, something I never thought was possible.
Burning Tree is a unique treatment center. It was definitely the experience I needed to build a foundation for long-term sobriety. I could never understand why I had been through so many treatment centers but could not… stay sober. I believed I was just hopeless. Here, I was shown truths about myself and my life that I had never heard or considered before. The staff is equally skilled at working with families. I have a great relationship with my parents today. I am very grateful for my time at Burning Tree and the deep connections I made there. I almost forgot to mention, they have the cutest and most lovable dogs living on the Ranch. They provide love and support to all of the clients!
13k a month and you think your helping people? May lord have mercy on you when he judges you. How this is acceptable and reputable is absolutely beyond me but charging people to partake in the lords creation alone is… sinful. Do it at a rate in which it costs an average working man with a family at least 4 years to save just to go and try? You people should take a good look in the mirror and realize how absurdly disgraceful it is to charge someone for something you could provide regardless.. wow.
I’ve witnessed the effectiveness of this program by seeing the transformation in a few of my friends that were clients at Burning Tree. The integrity and values it instills in clients is remarkable. Watching them become… connected to a community and gaining new coping skills has not only led to the removal of their obsession with alcohol, but has given them a strong foundation to face life and its challenges. While this program is rigorous, it’s not for everyone. Those that can really benefit are the chronic relapsers.
Greatest treatment center on earth. Phenomenal staff evidence based, tried and true results. Giving hope to the hopeless and saving lives is their product.
I can't say enough about the entire team at Burning Tree Ranch! We have worked with them closely on many occasions with families and the individuals struggling. They go above and beyond every time for every single… family they work with! This is something we do not see In many cases, unfortunately.
Burning tree is one of the few, truly long term programs left in the country. This is a program that has been around for well over 20 years, and has successfully evolved clinically while maintaining the soul of who they… are. If someone I loved was in need of treatment, I would trust Burning tree with their recovery.
Burning tree has an amazing facility that provides quality long term treatment in a way that is few and far between these days and it’s no wonder they have the success rate they do with individuals in long term recovery.
I have referred many clients to Burning Tree Ranch over the years, and the transformation I’ve witnessed has been nothing short of extraordinary. They consistently make remarkable progress with individuals whom many… others have already written off. Their willingness to roll up their sleeves and do the hard, meaningful work is truly unmatched in this field. Burning Tree Ranch embodies dedication, integrity, and hope. I’m genuinely grateful for the work they do and the lives they continue to change.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — Truly Life-Changing Burning Tree Ranch is, without question, one of the most transformative places I’ve ever encountered. This isn’t just a treatment program, it’s a place where real healing begins,… where honesty is required, and where lives genuinely get rebuilt from the inside out. From day one, the staff made it clear that they don’t just care about the people who come through their doors, they are deeply invested in their recovery, their growth, and their future. The level of compassion, structure, and accountability here is unmatched. They don’t offer shortcuts or quick fixes; they offer the real work, the kind that actually sticks. The program is raw, immersive, and incredibly effective. The therapies are thoughtful and powerful, the environment is peaceful, and every detail is aimed at helping people rediscover who they are without the weight of addiction or trauma pulling them down. You can feel the dedication everywhere, in the routines, in the one-on-one support, in the way the staff treats you like a human being who deserves to heal. What truly sets Burning Tree Ranch apart is their commitment to long-term recovery. They don’t just send you back into the world and hope for the best. They build you up, give you tools, challenge your patterns, and make sure you leave stronger, clearer, and more grounded than you’ve ever been. If you or someone you love is searching for a place that doesn’t settle for surface-level change, Burning Tree Ranch is it. It’s a place where rebuilding your life becomes not just possible, but inevitable. I am endlessly grateful for what this program does for people, and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who needs true, lasting transformation. Burning Tree Ranch isn’t just good, it’s exceptional. It’s hope, direction, and a second chance wrapped into one life-changing experience.
Professional, honest, caring staff. Only good things to say about burning tree, they are changing lives.
I have heard only great feedback from clients I have sent to Burning Tree. Highly recommend!
Burning Tree has saved SO many lives, and as a professional in the field I can testify that their work is solid. They truly care about each client and are in the business of changing lives for the better. They are… experts in treating addiction and have a heart and passion for those stuck in the cycle of chronic relapse. 10/10 the are the best!
It’s rare that I take the time to write reviews but this program is truly one of a kind. Burning Tree is not for everyone. They are clear about who they serve and they are very effective at what they do. Their years of… experience working with chronic relapsers has shaped the program into something you can only find on their grounds. Know if your loved one has the privilege of going through the Burning Tree program they are in good hands!
As a professional consultant in the field, I experience Burning Tree Ranch as a long term rigorous treatment program where recovery and hope spring from hard work and dedication to grounded 12 step principles. The… eminently qualified professional team cares, holds residents accountable, and sees miracles through to fruition. Families learn ways to help by healing long standing dysfunctional patterns of interaction. Burning Tree is not for everyone but it is for the chronically relapsing client who is ready to be held to a higher standard.
I had been in and out of treatment and AA before I landed in Kaufman. As a chronic relapser and death stage alcoholic, I should not have the life I get to lead today. I needed something different and that is what… Burning Tree provided me. From the discipline to the staff, I was pushed to do the work necessary to turn my life around, however difficult that may have been. Burning Tree isn’t why I am sober today, but going there gave me the time and space I needed to find a spirituality that I never knew through the 12 steps and extensive therapy. Burning Tree helped me lay a solid foundation on which I was able to rebuild my life. A lot of healing happened in my time there, for both me and my family. I found and accepted a new design for living and I will forever be grateful for my experience.
Hands down one of the VERY best substance abuse treatment centers around! The grounds, the staff, and the cirriculum are absolutely second to none! Places don't stay around this long unless they are doing something… right. Incredible recovery happening here; and the results - long term sobriety! Just an all-round fantastic facility! Highly highly recommend!
