Geode Health – Libertyville

First time visit on Wednesday and Andres (Andy) was awesome. A little nervous to express my feelings to a stranger but by the time I was done I had rambled On and on for 51 minutes. Very welcoming, very comforting and… definitely excited for this journey to healing

Everyone was competent and friendly. My questions were answered and they listened to me.

First Appointment. Overall went great! Location was easy to find. All I had to do is walk in and go to my appointment: co-pay was taken care of beforehand as well as a questionnaire. Virtual option is offered, though I… prefer in person.

The therapist is intelligent and engaging. She pays attention and orders meds quickly. Couldn’t ask for better. As a note I moved here to Illinois after decades in Texas where I saw a GEODE provider there. Outstanding… organization!

The guy who answers the phone is so compassionate and Helpful. I was at the wrong building due to GPS and he came outside to get me. Mary the counselor I met with was a real good listener. It was my first visit and she… really was taking notes and asking questions about what I mentioned. Mary provided me with some Griefing groups ; which she forwarded right away.This is my first time in 6years feeling like I was Hurd ! Also before my appointment I filled out a questionnaire and it was screened was originally set up with the wrong person; office called me to schedule my appointment with the proper type of consultation I was in need of. I didn’t fall into a dark hole somewhere. Would recommend them for Therpy!!!

After switching health insurances, I came across Geode Health. Out of the four different therapists and psychiatrists, I have had in my lifetime so far, they have been the best with their attentiveness and quality… service with addressing all my mental health needs.

The receptionist was easy to talk and clear in her communication. Chibogu Victoria Obianwu was knowledgeable, helpful, kind and direct with instructions.

Loved my provider but had to switch because of their arbitrary rules about dosage maximums. They have a rule where you can’t take more than the “max” but everybody’s brain chemistry is different, and I feel like they… don’t do a good enough job of acknowledging that. I had to unfortunately switch providers because of this arbitrary rule, and I didn’t want to. They need to rectify this. No 2 brains are the same, and we all react different to medication. I would expect them to understand this, but they unfortunately don’t. If they did I would gladly go back to them, but I’m trying to treat health conditions, and if they won’t make exemptions then they should not be practicing medicine.

I tried to sign up for HELP. I got to the end and because I do not own a credit card I am not fit for their services. I have a checkbook and cash but that isn't allowed so until I get a credit card these people can but… wont help. How about that in America?? And people around me wonder why I have anger issues as a handicapped senior and veteran. This is not the country I sacrificed 6 years of service for.

Dr Berkowitz is great. My husband had a mental health crisis and Dr Berkowitz was very caring an supportive. Thank you
