I had 5 different counselors while I was here. There aren't any clients or staff that sick around. Nobody graduates the program they either leave or are kicked out. The food is nasty and you can't have your own. I only… stayed to get it over with. Outpatient has like 4 clients which makes the groups really boring. There was a fun staff but she not there anymore so it's even more boring. Go somewhere else.
This place is awful. The staff turnover is insane and the food is disgusting and they dont let you have your own food which i have never had before at any center ive ever been to. I been here before and it wasnt bad but… now id rather be in jail. The clients leave constantly because they hate it so nych and even the staff talk about how terrible the place is and they quit to. I talk to clients and staff at the other wayside locations and there just as bad as this location. It is so obvious they dont care about the clients or the staff. Some staff are really nice but some are just mean and they will kick people out for the smallest reason. And their isn't barely any clients or staff here and they wonder why. I bet they go out of business soon. Which is so sad because Wayside used to be incredible. And I dont need the owner to make some fake apology and talk about how they are committed to blah blah blah. Your actions speak louder than words. Heartless people who have no clue what you're doing. Your driving this center into the ground.
Very transparent on rules not diverse, staff are very inconsistent and short. If you are serious about Treatment, Eosis Tapestry St paul where it's at! #Graduate of #Lattitude Program. Good Luck
My daughter needed a residential treatment. We had a referral & i reached out to this facility multiple times asking for help because my daughter had just went through detox and she needed to get placed somewhere that… could help her. They never once called her back. We're going on day 9 of me trying to place her in this facility ,said they were waiting on their clinical team to find out if she could be a resident there. Well, thanks for NEVER getting back to her!!! My 22 year old was begging for help! After research & this reading the reviews, Thank goodness this happened. I would never ever recommend this place. It's pretty dumpy looking too.
Counselors are great!! I feel that some RAs are pretty good however I had an experience with hilary today and she wouldnt get off her cell phone to help me. I feel some of the RAs dont think about the fact the clients I… can only speak for myself..... I am going thru mental health struggles on a daily and I have felt uncomfertable by what Tamara has said to me on two occasions. I am doing my best to stay in my own lane. But the should be held to a standard. They also go outside and smoke or vape for longer than 7 minutes together and the leave us unattended. I feel it could become unsafe. I brought this up to my counselor she said she would talk to her management about it. I will be aasking about it tomorrow and asking to talk to the management myself. I do really like the program and am learning a lot.
Wayside is absolutely disgusting. I wouldn't recommend it, and they're staff is a joke. There's one good counselor there, actually 2. Kayla and Alexa. I'm not posting this out of anger or etc. Wayside is just not the… place for someone planning on prolonging they're recovery.
This place completely failed me. One of their expectations and rules is no onsite use; totally understand that rule. However, a client was able to hold onto their THC vape for who knows how long, long enough for it to… be kept secret among a group of girls at the smoking picnic table, shared amongst who know how many. I had a particularly triggering day that day with my mother, walked outside to use my nicotine vape and saw the thc vape laying there. I hit it without any thought and told my counselor four days later as I felt that was the right thing to do. You know what happened? They discharged me. The director was incredibly unempathetic when I tried to plead my case. I had no issues whatsoever outside of that. I’m saddened that that happened and feel for other women who find themselves in my position. Overall, wayside does stick to their rules and offers great programming and keeps you busy/helps you build routine and take accountability. The staff definitely seem overworked and understaffed with a slew of new employees :( most of the staff do care, and you can see and feel that. I was told I could re enter wayside after 30 days but haven’t heard anything from my counselor, Alexa, when I emailed her about readmitting when I’m able. :(
Don't think there is a place more ghetto. They have bugs everywhere, ants everywhere, the staff as SO RUDE the nurses dont even know basic nursing. This place should be your LAST choice when looking for a treatment.… They don't even search you, but take HOURS AND HOURS to process your stuff. Came in for intake at 11am at 6pm they still hadn't had anything of mine processed, but kept telling me I needed to shower and wear their clothing until they had time to search mine, the staff are so disorganized and dont communicate anything. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.
I was treated terribly my entire time at Wayside. They held onto me for 87 days then discharged me because I held onto my phone overnight and was not supposed to. It’s a 90 day program. I was supposed to graduate in… just three more days. the staff are out to punish and discipline you, they are NOT empathetic. They make so many med errors it is insane. They will straight up run out of your medication for days or weeks and do NOTHING to help you. My friend on Methadone there was given the wrong medication once and they gave her methadone to another client!!!! Insanity and not even an excuse, or follow up with that one. The poor, uneducated staff this place attracts IS garbage. They don’t even teach how fun sobriety is. They won’t take you to meetings or bring meetings in. There is nothing good here. I am a Licensed Graduate Social Worker and hated talking to every one of the counselors due to their lack of empathy and seemingly speaking to a blank canvas or a brick wall! They will argue with you, call you names, swear at you. They will hold you back, and are power hungry EVIL people. Please save yourself the heartache and stay away.
I spent a full 90 days at this facility a few years back. Yes, It's an older building but as someone who has SEVERE allergies to everything (look up a condition called MCAS), I never had any issues with mold, bugs or… anything while there. and I am really allergic to mold spores. I feel like these negative reviews are just childish. My family and friends were welcomed for visits. YES they do have to leave their phones outside of the facility but for obvious reasons, these rules are in place for a reason. I will say they made an exception for me within my first 30 days ( it's an expectation that you will not leave the facility without staff in your first 30 days) so I could attend my grandmother's funeral. I was part of the Client committee. I organized workouts and that was encouraged, I ran AA meetings on the weekends and fostered lasting relationships with a lot of the other women there that I still remain friends with today. Wayside is YES, an older building but it's not THAT old. Plus, if anything goes wrong they get it taken care of as soon as someone can come and fix it. If anyone has had a bad time at Wayside, it's either you were forced to go to treatment for legal reasons so you have a chip on your shoulder or you\re a prima-donna. There are motels I have stayed at that are 100 times worse than an older building that has normal wear and tear. Which requires maintenance. And they do report and schedule a fix as soon as it's possible for someone to get to the facility. Stop whining Signed, A Gen X'er
Would look elsewhere for treatment
Don't come to this place they have mold in rooms. They demand your family to leave your phone in the car during visitation. They cut visits short left and right. The staff is rude and disrespectful to your family. They… fall asleep during family visits
They "couldn't find" [stole] my gabapentin and there's mold growing in the walls.
This facility is in desperate need of repairs. The presence of black mold and sewer backup issues made it a health hazard and it was not taken seriously. Hard to focus on wellness when you are dealing with headaches,… fatigue and nausea. The outside of the building was in a horrible state. It looked like an abandoned building upon arrival. Staff was inconsistent with outcomes and expectations. Kudos to Lisa, Jenna, Selfie, Kaleb, Shelly, Tamara and Laurie. I heard wonderful things about Wayside Recovery Center in the past, however, now I feel they are just running it into the ground and filling beds with Individuals that clearly need more services. Food was subpar and much of it unhealthy. Very disappointing.
They are not skilled in the care of women with mental health issues. The staff pick on the women that they don't like.
I spent 65 days at wayside I was apart of client committee people were mad because of that. I was doing well with my recovery the staff only listens to one side of a story and run with it. Most staff are rude and feel… they can talk to you any kind of way, but when the women stand up for ourselves we get discharged. When we are the vulnerable adults. They don’t get you ready for the life outside of treatment, they literally treat you like a toddler. We ran out of toilet paper for about 4 days at an all women’s facility that is unacceptable. We use that for the front and back. It’s spiders everywhere bugs come in through the windows! A bathroom flooded and leaked into 2 rooms. The ladies carpet was very wet, they didn’t clean the carpet shampoo or anything. They put the ladies back in those rooms when the carpet wasn’t even all the way dry! That place has black mold everywhere. They are very racist and will discharge you if you stand up and advocate for yourself! They take your insurance money and feed you little to nothing! The milk they give is expired as hell. They also get food from a food self and the cooks don’t wear gloves. The food isn’t cooked all the way. They made orange chicken out of uncooked chicken nuggets! Some of the Ra’s care about our recovery. Our food gets stolen out of the fridge which a camera is in the kitchen but they won’t check to see who is taking people food. The receptionist is very rude! The director doesn’t even run the place as it should be ran. I dont recommend for any women that wants to get their life together to go there! Also 10 of us were discharged for standing up for ourselves when they say we should advocate for ourselves. I don’t understand how that works! We all came to NuWay, and I am getting the best help I need from here! People that are there and bullying other are still there as well! They pick and choose the people they want to care for and that they feel should be there. When we are all there to get help. They discriminate a lot. That place is just horrible!
My wife went there. There are plenty of wonderful treatment centers that change lives and fight for their clients. This place farms beds and exploits vulnerable adults for insurance money while offering them next to… nothing as far as emotional or medical care. My wife is traumatized.
This place will get you sober by traumatizing you to the point you're terrified of having to ever go back. Not the best method.
Facilitators & RA’s we’re all amazing, I appreciate every single one of you for playing a role in my recovery. I got a lot from the groups provided & I couldn’t have asked for a better counselor. It works if you work… it. Thank you wayside ❤️
It’s more then just treatment you learn so many things fundamentally important to life recover and about yourself I have tried a couple others and nothing compared the staff are amazing this is THE BEST treatment center… if your serious about getting something good out of it! Thank you wayside you have changed the person I was in many unchangeable ways I’m still not perfect but striving everyday to be better n it’s been 3 years! Keep changing lives you guys are amazing
I specifically chose Wayside because it was advertised on-line as a trauma informed treatment center. This is the 10th treatment I have been at and at age 46. I have struggled to maintain sobriety while struggling with… complex PTSD. My 36 day stay at Wayside was so upsetting and magnified my PTSD symptoms. This is not a safe, therapeutic community. A handful of the staff are wonderful but the remaining staff seemed completely inept at conflict resolution. The staff would daily gossip within earshot about clients and other staff. There were 4 women during my stay who were bullies. The staff seemed intimidated by these women and reprimanded myself and others when we advocated for ourselves when we were preyed upon by these women. Myself and others continually asked for help when we were being bullied and staff repeatedly told us that it was our role to "mediate" on our own. Not surprisingly, conflict would ensue and staff seemed to panic and would reprimand those clients that were easy to deal with while catering to the bullies. I experienced and witnessed demeaning and disregarding interactions with staff. Clients were allowed to facetime on their phones through out the facility including bathrooms and bedrooms. The other 9 treatments I attended absolutely banned facetime as it is a huge privacy violation. When clients complained about this they did nothing about it. This was such an upsetting experience. I left on my own to transfer to another facility. There were lots of other negative issues I experienced but it would be an essay.
🧐 this is gross.
Wayside Is a wonderful place to get help for substance abuse and mental health. The staff is very helpful, and it has a good outlook on trauma and what is needed to pursue early recovery. It's great for women. There is… a nice outside area right by a pond. It's definitely strict and has a lot of rules, but it's bearable. There's not a lot of emphasis on exercise, and the food is mediocre. Sometimes the drama with the girls was draining. "Not my circus, not my monkeys." It's good for all ages. They focus more on SMART recovery, and not much on twelve steps. However, you can go to meetings virtually. Over all, I benefited a lot.
Its like the workhouse with therapists, the RA staff is not trained in helping with de-escalation or panic attacks, however, the nursing staff - Reane makes it liveable. The peer support specialists are awesome though.… If you want to get sober and have trauma, it's a good place to start. It's not Beuteareaue. But it takes MA.
I loved Wayside! The counselors were incredible and I am so grateful for everything I learned there! Because of Wayside, I am sober and living my best life!
Don't feel like they deserve even a one-star because this treatment center steal from you and will not give you your stuff back when you are released or have to come back to get
Treatment and care was satisfactory while a close family member was a resident. However, upon transferring to another facility, this family member was discharged 48+ hours before the intake time at the new facility. She… was offered no guidance as far as where to go or how to get there. Incredibly disappointed with such a calloused response from caregivers toward someone still very much in need of care.
